  1. Happy Birthday Terry!!
  2. Somtimes I'm one of those bass guys in the glitter boat, but I don't have any patches. But your not going to catch me putting it down. If the bass fishing gets slow I just pull back in a cove and whip out the flyrod. That perch fishing is a blast with a little popper.
  3. Great job Michael. I did learn a lot. I learned about how much money you are getting ready to suck out of my banking account. Apparently I'm going to need a few new rods, a bunch of new reels and a couple hundred different kinds of line. I will probably be in soon to start searching for a new rod. p.s. I think Terry snuck some stuff out in his pockets. He looked a little heavier when he left.
  4. Well your not getting my fishing industry job. Besides it don't pay very well at all. But it's still a lot of fun. Yep, I'm Leonard's personal big fish photographer!
  5. Well I'm no tour guide, but I have been thinking about going over there sometime next week. But only if they are running lots of water at Taney.
  6. Well if you would spend more time fishing and less time sitting in the truck you might catch something .
  7. Go to http://ozarkanglers.com there's a link on the home page.
  8. We had some of the GV with the bad numbers. My wife has taken my 13 year old daughter to the doctor twice over the last few weeks due to a high fever. It comes and goes. Then we realized last night that the fever was showing up every time my daughter made peanut butter cookies. To her, peanut butter cookies is one of the major food groups. That's fine that I can take the jar and get my money back, but they should be covering medical bills. The doctor was so frustrated with not being able to figure out what it was that she had to have chest x-rays yesterday.
  9. Very nice Mr. Ducky. I've been wanting to go there, and those pictures aren't making it any easier to stay away.
  10. You have to add that to your signature. Either that or I don't want to ever hear that again.
  11. I've seen these two older guys several times and they seem to do pretty good catching catfish out of the Finley. I've seen them keep a few out of the Linden area, and that area is a cesspool, but still holds a lot of fish. If you don't mind walking through all the trash (beer can, old diapers, etc..) to get to the river, you will be suprised at the fish that are there. Not a place to take your kids though.
  12. It's been several years since I've been to Lake Fork. There is a newer lake just north of Fork called Cooper. I know when I was fishing Fork they were pulling a lot of big fish out of there. The day that we tried to fish there the wind was so bad we didn't even try it. That's the problem with those Texas lakes, it doesn't take much wind to blow you off of them. Next thing you know you are sitting in your room watching Oprah. Been there, done that.
  13. I like it Dano. I'm sure that there are some coatings out there that could solve the fraying problem, if there is one.
  14. I have one of those too sometimes.
  15. Double action is the way to go. It allows you to really control the fluid delivery. You can get a good one for 50 to 60 bucks. You will also want a variety of tips. That way you will be able to paint with a pattern from a fine pencil point to a wide one inch pattern. I use automotive paint mostly because that is the business that I'm in, but it does have great benefits over other paints. First it is very durable. Plus when using multi colors you can do them in a basecoat and then clear the final product to give it an amazing shine. The color possibilities of auto paint are endless, plus you have the addition of several sizes of metallic and the pearls are a lot of fun to play with as well. I mostly paint hard bodied poppers but lately my dad has recruited me to paint some custom crankbaits and stick baits for him. It's a lot easier than what you would think. If you want to go into more detail or need help on deciding which brush to buy, give me a call. I'm not the best in the world but I have access to a lot of info and can probably get you some good prices. Ronnie 417-839-5530
  16. You are going to have to remember to take your medication.
  17. I've floated that stretch a few times. It is great for the smallies. Lots of nice healthy fish and the occasional pickeral.
  18. You guys aren't talking about going smallmouth fishing without The Flysmallie are you .
  19. Well I couldn't let Steve have all that peace and quiet by himself. Of course when I showed up he was doing what he does best, sitting in the truck. I only got to fish for about an hour. Caught a few on a pine squirrel and a few on a red and black zebra midge. They were taking some flies off top so I decided to try a dry. It was raining hard at this point and I could not get the head cement out of the eye of the only dry I had. I took a scud and greased it up real well and tossed it out there. Well they liked that, I was amazed. Caught four or five on that and went home.
  20. I love that movie!! See you guys there.
  21. Well since you can't go, I guess I can go now. I was just trying to avoid you Ducky. My wife's grandad was scheduled to have surgery, but they have postponed it till Friday.
  22. I have both the 6'6" and the 7', thanks to Dano. I have used the 6'6" with a 5wt WF line and thought it cast very well at 30 to 35 feet. I have played around in the yard with the 7' and a 7wt Bass Bug Taper line (it's what I had laying around). It didn't seem like too much line for the rod, but I'm not the best caster you have ever seen and I was only casting a yarn indicator. When I tie on a popper or a big streamer it might be a different story. If I was going to buy only one, it would be the 7 footer. Especially if you are going to be using it for bass. It does seem to have a little more backbone to it and using a heavier line is going to be a must to get some of those bigger flies out there.
  23. Good to see you are fishing again Terry. I'm sure it felt great just to be out there. What did you think about Roaring River? I've only been down there twice now, but it is a lovely place. And somedays they have free hot dogs!! (thanks Steve)
  24. I had a blast on Friday. Yeah, it was cold and I had a very slow start, but I ended up catching a lot of fish. Most on a black zebra midge and pine squirrel. Leonard I almost got to post a big fish picture of my own. Dano was waiting with the camera I just couldn't get it landed. That was by far the biggest trout I have ever had on. Here are the pictures of the two big fish I saw leonard catch. I swear next time I go with Leonard I'm just taking a net and a camera. Maybe if I'm lucky he will let me hold the big fish whistle as well.
