No it's not unique to college football, just unique to NCAA. The NFL has 4 preseason games that allow them to get ready for the season, but it doesn't count. High school football does the same type thing with jamborees. You can't include basketball, it doesn't matter. But in NCAA football it does count. And if your a ranked team and you slip and lose you have just ended your season. Well unless you are an SEC team and then you can still do whatever you want. But it doesn't matter to me. Like I said I've been totally underwhelmed so far and I don't see that changing. High school ball has been way more entertaining at this point. I'll just stick to my Friday nights and use Saturday to mow and fish. I will be most likely taking one of my daughters to the Arkansas Mizzou game so I will see that one.

If I added a hook to a strike indicator I could have a limit in no time. Last time I fished Roaring River I had a decent sized trout come up and take a pink thingamabobber twice. The second time I was able to pull him about halfway in before it let go. I agree with Wrench. Trout may be skittish and difficult to catch at times but that shouldn't be confused with intelligence.

Yeah the only reason that I can accept it is because of the funds that the smaller schools receive. That pretty much makes their season. But with that good comes a lot of bad. There has to be a better way.

Uhhhh....yes you can and yes they will. Seen it happen too many times for it to be a fluke. Sure something that resembles part of their diet is surely going to produce better results.

I didn't see much of the Mizzou game, watched parts of some other games, but was totally underwhelmed by anything I did see. NCAA football is loosing it's appeal to me at this point. I'm tired of nationally ranked teams playing powder puff teams and acting like they have done something. It's time for NCAA to get their crap together. I won't be watching anymore of it unless it's raining or snowing outside.

The Masters area is good. Highpoint has some good spots. Most of the bridges have some access. I like the area around Cedar Ridge campground. Not too much around the regular ramp but if you get down in the area around the campground then you have a lot of water you can cover. It's best when camping season is over and you can get down in there. If you can get out to the big rock it holds some fish. Probably not going to catch the fish of a lifetime but it should be pretty easy to keep it interesting.

Stockton is a good choice if you are on the bank. Plenty of water to cover and it's not that far from town.

In dog beers I only had a couple. I think right after I took this shot I realized that Jeff had on his PFD. The first thing I thought is that I should go over and yank the cord. But you know how Jeff is...

Not great. I'd say horrible but I did catch a fish and it was a beautiful day on the river.
