It's not a gigging problem, it's a poaching problem. I've seen guys with illegal fish that they have caught fishing. I've seen the cleaned fish at an access that were obviously take illegally by fishing. Are we going to demand a ban on that next? You can impose all the restrictions that you want, you guys are all about that, but if we could just get some enforcement of the current regulations then just maybe things would get better.

I have to try gigging at least once in my lifetime. I know they get a bad rap but I also realize they aren't all bad.

If I had to choose between the two I'd go with the Spook over the puppy. Much easier to walk over the puppy, casts further and easier than the puppy and the size of the spook isn't going to scare any thing away. I bought one of Academy's H2O WTD lures and was really impressed with it. Walked better than a spook and costs a lot less too.

If they see some of the old "bananas" that I've seen it might. If you want to see boobs go to a titty bar. If you want to see some nasty assed naked chick go to the river.

I'm going to need a little clarification on the rules. Is that cow the four legged kind or will a two leg heifer suffice? The two legged kind are a lot easier to get drunk and coax into the canoe. Better not be standing close when they find out they are going to a weigh in though.

That's kind of a hard claim for a knee! But I do like it better than the getting blindsided on a football field. Sounds like you got a fun new toy. My jealousy of you continues. Well except for the old and bald part.

True, and reaction bites are always the most fun. you would think if the fish really wanted to eat it, it would have done so while it was hopping along the bottom. But that's not always the case. Sometimes the sight of a fleeing or "injured" bait creates that reaction to kill and eat it. Figure that out and you can have a lot of fun in a short amount of time.

You know the same thing happened to me on the Gasconade. Reeling in fast and boom. Wasn't getting many bites on the bottom but they would crush a crank bait or spinnerbait. Next time that happens try throwing something like that. Or a buzzbait especially early or late. Those smallmouth love a buzzbait. Those dollar ones at Walmart work pretty good but a Lunker Lure works the best for me.

I feel your pain. I have a knee that's the same way and was basically told the same thing. Too young for a replacement (45). Went in and fixed a torn MCL again and cleaned it out. The pain is not any better and I walk funny but at least it's stable. Be interested to see how you like a crossbow. I'm not a hunter anymore and never bow hunted but always had an appreciation for the bow. Just ordered an Olympic Recurve for my 10 year old daughter. She's taking up target archery and is planning on making the Olympics. I'm pretty excited about her finally finding something of an "outdoors" sport that she likes. Check out the archery museum when you go to BPS. It's pretty cool.
