Ok Web, I read the history. It appears that if I keep this thing going and have a fresh cup of tea ready for you, you will have to share your lunch with me. If that's correct, let me know when we are headed to the river and I will let you know what I would like for lunch.
I've told you guys over and over, THERE ARE NO FISH IN THE JAMES RIVER. Go someplace else. It's polluted. Fish all dead. Leave it alone. Bad levels of radiation.
I have some of the Orvis Clearwaters and every time I thought I had the leak fixed another would show up somewhere else. It was quite cold fishing in them New Years Day!!
Spend the extra money for the Simms G3's. I've only had mine wet twice, but they are very very nice.
I haven't heard of it but if it works I'm all for it. My wife works for a group of oral sugeons and I'm always catching grief from them about my addiction to Skoal. They used to give me samples of "fake" Skoal but it's hard to find. I can quit, as long as I'm not fishing. That's when the biggest urge starts. Seems like I can focus more when I have a dip in. I know it's all in my mind but I just can't seem to quit.
That's what I always do. I'm not a really a fan of Nascar so I really don't care if I see the race or not, but if I'm home I will turn it on and watch the last of the race to see who wins. I think I started watching last night with just 26 laps to go. Still took forever.
The whole problem is that none of my time has been spent fishing. It's either way too cold (I still have nightmares about New Years Day) or I have about a billion other things that need to be done. Between a job, the wife and three high maintenance daughters there is just no time. And to top it all off I have some new waders that I spent way too much money on for them just to be sitting in a box. I'm going to try to hit Taney on Friday, but I'm sure we will have another ice storm/blizzard by then!!
Yeah it's been way too cold in the garage for me. I do have everything ready and as soon as I get a little extra time I'm gonna get it done. I have found a heated shop to use, so now all I need is some time.
It says they are painted. Probably either with the powder that Dave uses or there are lot's of paints out today that glow in the dark. Maybe we should paint Leonards van so we can track him.
They may be cheaper at the cash register but on the stream a well tied crawfish pattern will outlast those 4 plastic lures by a long ways. And if you tie them yourself you have just saved a ton of money.
That's funny that you bring this up now Dano. I have actually been working on a bit of a primer for smallmouth. It's based on my past couple of years of fishing the yarn worm and a couple of variations that I have come up with. I need to get some pictures to go with it and convert my writings over to the computer, but I'll probably have it done sometime this week. I would like for you and Phil to look at it before I just throw it on though.
Of course the best way for you to learn is just to go along on one of my adventures!!
Well I was going to go until I heard that Don was going to be there!!!
Been out of town all week so it's going to be tough to talk the little lady into it, but I'm still trying.
Might have to make it a really early trip and get out of there by noon.
Well then I think I have been breaking the law. Wait a minute, I think my daughters have been breaking the law. I have taken both my 9 & 14 year old down there without a trout stamp. I always assumed that if they didn't need a license then they didn't need the trout stamp.
Hey Dano did you ever get a chance to listen to this podcast?
I just wondered what your opinion of it was. I was a little disappointed by the interviewer. Seems like he could find some better questions to ask or just let the guys talk. I've noticed this on several of his podcasts.
There is also a podcast interview of Kelly on Ask About Fly Fishing Internet Radio.
Here's the link. http://www.askaboutflyfishing.com/speakers/kelly/kelly.cfm
It's pretty interesting.
