  1. If you watch closely, you will see one flush out of the brush and across our path just past the midway point on the video. I ended up shooting three green heads and one green wing that day. My shooting was a little off, missing a great chance at a Bull Sprig, several other teal and a few more mallards.
  2. It's a mud buddy swamp motor. 7.5 hp kit that my brother "Brother Dave" built from a kit
  3. That was a fun hunt Chief! Thank you for introducing me to a gentleman that was and still is one of the key figures that has devoted his life to conservation in Missouri. David was a pleasure to hunt with and full of great stories.
  4. I have seen smaller on Taney. Start off by the Landing and make sure you can go up steam against the current.
  5. It is going to be fun catching out there for a week or so, but if we dont take care of those fish, it could be a long dry spell before we get generous stockings again. Out west, they put special mandates on rivers when the water quality drops. Things such as no fishing after 10 a.m., or completely close the rivers down to fishing until the water quality improves. Tough to deal with now, but better for everyone in the long run.
  6. I think the title of this thread says 2800
  7. I can bring smoked sockeye salmon for Thursday.
  8. To all the veterans on this forum, I would like to thank you for your service. Hope you enjoy your day!
  9. Put them out. Not going to hurt things a bit.
  10. Nice Marty. Been filling the freezer myself. Got an 8 pointer Satuday evening with the bow while wearing orange for the youth season, then a nice doe Sunday morning wearing orannge again. My nephew was down bow hunting out of one of my stands on Saturday so after I shot the 8 pointer I went back to the house to drop off gear. Picked up my nephew and we went back to the woods to drag the deer out. Got to where the deer was and noticed my sister-in-laws cat sitting on top of the deer. I called to the kitty and he got off the deer and walked a little closer to us but never came all the way up. We started dragging the deer out of the woods with the cat following us as I called "come on Bob kitty kitty". We dragged the deer about 80 yards and stopped for a breather. I took a better look at Bob kitty, and realized he was not Bob the kitty at all. He was a grey fox. Decided to make an eye doctor appointment for tomorrow. The doe on Sunday morning, after being shot ran the exact same path that the buck did after being shot. The doe died exactly 2 feet from the same spot that the buck dropped. just finished grinding all the burger and ready to go back out Thursday to try for another doe.
  11. LOL... That is his wife Terry and sister Jen. LOL!
  12. Thanks for bringing MC's new truck down. Glad you guys got on some fish!
  13. Ralph is another man that will be missed. Enjoyed every conversation that I had with him. Seemed to bump into him at RR many times.
  14. We are past the halfway point in the season. Smolting has stopped on the Naknek. Pinks are spawning now and kings just starting to drop eggs. Catching tout on the bead now and chasing silvers every day. Duck season starts September 1st. I will be building a duck blind on the river today.
  15. They just pulled the last commercial sockeye boats today. Netted over 32 million fish this season. Silvers ate in now and king season ended in my boat with a 27 a 26 and a 22 pounder.
  16. My ride to work today
  17. Phil, I have not called anyone in over 4 years during the summers up here in Alaska. You were the first one I thought of when that option became available. See you guys in October!
  18. We normally host 14-16. If they are paired properly we can host 20. Kings are still coming in strong. Sockeyes slowing way down and trout fishing destinations are picking up. Good three days on the river chasing kings and bows.
  19. Sockeye salmon are still coming through in fishable numbers. We have started catching kings in the 30 pound plus range. We have a group of 17 Chinese with only 2 interpreters. It is pretty fun trying to comunicate with and get them to fish. Im not eating any of the fish yet but they are taking the heads of the salmon to the chef each night for fish head soup. I think in another week, we will be at the half way point of the season.
  20. The sockeye have been a little late this year and the commercial guys have had to hold off a bit. The last 4 days, sockeye have been pumping by and we have to be at escapement by now. I have heard some of the commercial guys have pulled thier boats already. the ones sticking it out are gonna do good.
  21. One of the finest days of king fishing I have ever seen today on the Naknek. We landed 10 kings in the 25-30 pound range and an uncountable number of smaller ones. The really big boys are due to show up next week. Having lots of fun out there right now.
  22. welcome home and yes it is
  23. Are back in country now? Looking forward to a good duck hunt with you again.
  24. Lots of big kings being caught on the Naknek today.
  25. I'm not eating any of them.
