  1. I am so sorry for your loss Al.
  2. Good looking stuff Marty!
  3. Good to see you again to KC. Could not get up any further on Flat. It was froze solid the rest of the way up. Will be out again this weekend trying again.
  4. It should start getting good up there soon.
  5. Been doing real good on trout magnets 4 to 5 feet under an indicator in the lower section and brown and orange jigs just straight lining them. The upper end could be good on white jigs. Watch Phil's videos he has posted the last couple of day. Good luck to ya!
  6. The other morning, when it was 10 degrees out, I found nothing fun about going fast.
  7. Welcome to the forum.
  8. Point 15, in 25 feet of water. They were right on the bottom. We were dragging bottom looking for crappie.
  9. I put in at Bridgeport and fished tandem 1/16th oz Bobby Garland jigs in the Flat Creek area. Lighter colors worked best today. Monkey Milk, threadfin shad, crystal lam. All fish were caught in 16 -20 feet of water on the flats. Yesterday darker colors worked.
  10. I do not have a temp gauge but I'm sure the temps did rise as the day went on. Flat Creek above the bridge was frozen again this morning with ice that was about 1/2 thick. Around 3 this afternoon most of it was gone and that is where I caught the small mouth.
  11. Little slow on the keepers for me on the Rock today, but if I could go again tomorrow, I would.
  12. Phil sells the exact rods he uses at his shop. You can even get the combo set up ready to fish with line rod and reel. I have 5 of them.
  13. The Arkansas Democrat Gazette posted the picture online.
  14. The males usually come in first. especially the young small ones.
  15. A little slower for the keeper crappies today in the Flat Creek area. Started fishing around 10 and thought it would be the perfect day to catch a whole mess of crappie up in Flat Creek. I was wrong. Caught lots and lots of shorts but only managed 7 keepers today. Caught another 14-15 inch small mouth today. Ventured out onto the James River Arm looking for the big crappie. Only found 1 out there, but did find a bunch of small white bass. Big school of them in 22 feet of water. They kept me setting the hook for a while. Might get back out and try again this weekend. That or back to Taney?
  16. Caught a bunch of small males today out in front of point 15 in 25 feet of water.
  17. Man, your boat is fast! Did you see any shad?
  18. Thanks guys. It was a cold one to start, but like I said, it warmed up pretty good to make it quite comfortable by the end of the day. I've been frying fish at least once a week for a couple of weeks now.
  19. That is just crazy! I think my wife will send it to him.
  20. Good report. The pictures are great.
  21. Nothing structure related.
  22. I launched at Bridgeport today. Everything was snow and ice covered. One more day of warm weather should take care of them.
  23. Got an early start this morning and left the house with boat in tow around 7:30 heading for Flat Creek. I wanted to put in at Flat Creek Resort because the ramp is not too steep and I knew all the ramps in the area would still have snow on them. Pulled down to the ramp and the water was solid all the way to the bridge. Did a drive through and headed back over to the Bridgeport area to launch. Temp gauge on the truck was reading 10 degrees. Slide down the ramp, got the boat launched and even managed to get the trailer out of the water and vehicle parked. Now for the fun part, boating up to Flat Creek. Decided to get the boat ride over as fast as possible and paid for that with some serious brain freeze. Started finding crappie in about 16-18 feet of water with in 30 minutes of being there, but they were all shorts. Took over an hour to catch my first keeper, but was staying busy catching lots of shorts and a few spots. Started moving around looking for another school of fish to play with about noon and started finding some better fish in 20-22 feet of water. Pretty much, right in the channel. Did manage one nice large mouth and one short smally today also. Ended up keeping 12 today, but had lots of fun. Only saw one other boat and a canoe today. Most fish came on black, tuxedo, or black and chartuese Bobby Garlands with 1/16th oz jig heads. It ended up warming up to be a real nice day on the water.
  24. Just got home. Found crappie, small mouth, large mouth, and spots, but no whites today.
  25. The roads here in Branson and south western Missouri got cleaned up good enough for me to want to try and driver to Fayetteville Arkansas today for the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T). I turned around at the state line.....
