  1. Depth Charge TMC 3769 size 10 3/16 bead .20 lead wire Web Wing wire mesh Ultra Wire black size BR Sili Legs barred pumpkin Awesome Possum natural grey dubbing Dura Skin (wing casings) This is a very heavy fly for Polish Nymphing. Not only does it have a 3/16 inch bead, but also has 23 wraps of .20 lead wire. Gets to the bottom fast and great for fishing those deep and fast runs. This is one of my favorite flies for Crane Creek.
  2. Got em done and will have them in the mail in the next day or two. Thanks for hosting
  3. Hey Rick, I was planning a trip over there tomorrow too. Hopefully Tim will fill us in on what the water looks like. Stayed home from goose hunting this morning to get some flies tied up. I'm just about out of that white chammy you gave me a few years back. Guess what I'll be fishing with tomorrow.
  4. I was introduced to the Boykin last summer in Alaska. That is one little dog with a lot of heart. I was very impressed. I wanna see him wrastle a goose this summer though.
  5. Nice job Marty! Hope you and Chris knock em out tomorrow. I'm fixin to head out to the Rock and try to put a few to sleep this afternoon. Hoping they will come in before shooting time is over with this cloud cover. All of the sudden, I got people wanting goose. Got to try and fill an order or two.....
  6. Next year we will have cold weather early and be in the birds thick all season long!
  7. A helmet with full face mask and some elbow pads. You'll need to swing them elbows alot to keep people 3 or more inches away. Hehehe. Naw, It's not that bad. You have to look at it as a social event rather than a fishing event. Go early to pick out a spot. People will be camping out on their spots all night long. You'll catch fish, but the fishing experience gets better as the day goes on and people start to go home.
  8. I have found that barbed hooks really let you know your alive when you sink them deep in your skin. They are good for getting rid of head aches too. Every time I've had a head ache and got a barbed hook stuck deep in a body part, I have found the head ache instantly goes away. Those wriggling tendons and pieces of flesh left on the barb after removal from hands always has been a good fish attractant too.
  9. Hehehe. That's funny. Your gonna fit right in around here.
  10. Ain't that the truth ......haha
  11. Oh, and Scott, keep your reports coming. I woke up with the cold sweats and shaking arms this morning. The DT's are pretty bad. They should get a little better of the next week or so
  12. I was talking to Brother Dave about that on the phone today. I think next season, we are gonna get the year long licenses for AR. Beaver is only about an hour away from my house. The dam area anyways.
  13. Now that duck season is over I was thinking about my fly tying situation. A buddy of mine in Alaska is a chef at a pheasant ranch in South Dakota. He's supposed to be sending me a bunch of tail feathers. I'm gonna have to give him a call. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw your picture. Good looking birds.
  14. Great hunt! Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed your reports this season.
  15. Nice day Russ!
  16. I am feeling a little better. Still not 100 % but better for sure!
  17. Hunted this morning with Michael Kyle and another buddy on Table Rock. Last day of the season so we hunted the spot that did the best all season long. We were not disappointed. Had a few groups of birds work us real good and all 3 of us found ourselves just watching and calling rather than shooting. I guess it was the desire to see them work and cup just one more pass. I think this happened on three different groups of birds today. Good way to end the season and I was very pleased with the bird activity. Time to start fishing again
  18. Beautiful bird Marty. Congratulations!
  19. Yep. I was feeling pretty bad this morning.
  20. Cool videos! Welcome to the forum
  21. This forum was a lot of fun this season and has seen more traffic this year than in the past. Thanks for joining in guys. Really enjoyed reading your posts on your hunts this year and sharing my hunts with you guys. I was hoping to hunt all 60 days of the south zone this season but had to pass on the hunting this morning. I guess the last couple of days of hunting hard kinda run me down and woke up feeling sickly this morning. I will be on the water tomorrow for the last day and still feel very blessed to be able to get 59 days of hunting in over the last 60. Cant wait to try again next year. It will all start for me on Sept 1st up in Alaska trying to get that 1st sand hill crane. Again, thanks for joining in and sharing your hunts this season guys.
  22. I would recommend trying the white bass on the James in late March and early April around B;unks Hole. Lots of wading areas there.
  23. This was the only day of the season I did not hunt. Woke up at 3:45 with a fever and head ache and decided not to go.
  24. Good job Marty. TR was a bust for us today. Saw alot of birds but they would not fly and were rafting way out in the middle of the lake.
  25. Looks like you'll need the Mo fishing license along with the White River lakes license to cover your fishing in Bull Shoals in AR
