  1. Loved it. Cant wait to see the others. Would like to see all the Gallup patterns strung together with a little Hank III as back ground music. Kinda like speed reading the encyclopedia just to get the good stuff. Fish on Brotha!
  2. We usually start hitting good numbers of whites in tat area the 2nd week of March. My favorite week to fish is the 1st week of April as long as the rivers are not blown out by then.
  3. I got no problems with that. I'd even be willing to help out on that.
  4. Awesome! Love seeing them young ones enjoying the outdoors
  5. Dont need much more than that.
  6. Thanks!
  7. Did a little scouting with the duck duster yesterday on Lower Taney and Upper Bull Shoals. Started at Rockaway Beach and took a run up Bull Creek. Saw quite a few wood ducks a few divers and a couple of gadwall up there. Should be a good area to hunt if its not too crowded. Then I ran down to Empire. Jumped a few ducks on the way but nothing to get too excited about. Went back to Rockaway and took out then headed to Bull Shoals. Put in at Beaver Creek Marina and headed down past K-dock. Lots of little sloughs holding lots of mallards, gawalls, woodys, and some geese. Bunch of golden eye out in front of K-dock area. Headed back up above Beaver Creek about two miles and only found one spot up there I liked. Turned back and then ran up Beaver Creek past the tin whistles. Couple of spots up that way will be good for ducks too. Got my spots picked out....come on opening day!
  8. See any ducks or geese hanging out in the area you were fishing?
  9. I have gone through the mill on all types of waders (Simms, Orvis, Red Head, rubber, neoprene, gortex, breathable and zippered) and none of them have lasted a whole season with out some sort of fail. The Simms have held up the best for what I put waders through, but are the most expensive too. They will inevetably get pin hole leaks in the knees and butt area before the end of a duck season. It seems kinda wrong to be out buckin brush in $650 waders, but I have done it. I just figure on needing a new pair of waders for each season that is coming up. One for duck, and one for guiding. I just repair and patch the old pair and keep as a back up. On the 3rd season, they go in the trash because there is not much left of them.
  10. That is still one of my favorite weeks of all in Alaska. I even got hit with bear pepper spray that week thanks to some guy that thought he could out run a bear and beat him to the fish on the bank. Randy and I were laughing about that the other day.
  11. I got out and fished for a while today with the water off. Fished from about 10:30 till 4 p.m. Was not too crowded and caught lots of fish around the boulders. They are definately holding fish. Fish below outlet two all the way down the the point and caught fish all the way down. Biggest was about 18 inches and I caught 4 little bitty browns about 8 to 10 inches. Most fish were caught on white chamy worms and about a third of them were caught on a micro egg. Fishing in the shallows was a lot of fun today also. Perfect day to be on the water.
  12. Yep. Off the water, up on the bank, and back on the water again. Oh, and then off the water and in the mud....Heheheheh! Fun day!
  13. I've seen Phil drive a jet boat....It can be scary! LOL!
  14. I seem to recall cleaning your ducks......I need to up my rates
  15. This veteran will be fishing!
  16. I have never hunted Schell Osage, so I cant help there. Eagle Bluffs was a pretty good hunt over all. I drew pill 15 out of 16, so I pretty much hunted left overs. Picked pool 2. Not much water in the corn. Well actually, no water in the corn fields on pool 2. They are trying to pump it up. I hunted the pond in the south end of the pool and pulled down two ducks. Pools 4, 5, 8,9,and 10 did very well and have been doing very well since opening day. Rained all day and absolutely no wind. Still just hunting resident birds there and the estimated population is around 5000. Saw lots of deer, eagles, and sand hill cranes. The duck shooting was a little slow for me, but sure beat a day at the office.
  17. I was lucky enough to draw in on a quick draw for Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area on Monday, November 7th. This means that I am guaranteed to get to hunt and I can have a party of up to 4 people on this hunt. I have two open slots in my party, so if you would like to go hunting for ducks in the Middle Zone on Monday the 7th of November (only the 3rd day of the season) at Eagle Bluffs for ducks, you will need to reply to me on here. You must have a small game permit, Missouri migratory bird permit, Federal waterfowl stamp, shotgut not capable of holding more than 3 shells, waders, and camoflage. First two people to commit get to go! This should be a great hunt.
  18. You might want to hit Crane for a half day while your down here?????
  19. So much for a relaxing day of fishing for them to fellas. I had two gentlemen down there on Saturday and of course they were running water so the wading options were very limited. We ended up fishing half way down between #2 and #3. Most fish were caught on a white shammy, some on grey scuds, and a few on micro eggs. These two caught about 15 to 20 fish each. The outlet was very crowded but we steered clear of it. I really do not like fishing down there on the weekends unless it is about 12 degrees and snowing hard. Most people stay home then. Leonard....dont you love it when people try to tell you how to fish Taney! LOL!
  20. I with ya there Bman. Have not seen any real big boys myself this year. About 2 weeks ago I saw one in the 13-15 pound range, but gone the next day. The rainbow fishing has been fair with some good ones out there. Still hoping some big browns will come on in.
  21. I will have a small gas grill for the poppers
  22. That's all good and nice on the fish report, but you left out the important stuff.......what about the ducks......LOL!
  23. There were a couple of flocks of them really low last night flying over. I think they set on Table Rock. Might have to get up to the North Zone next week to do a little hunting.
  24. I do not know how they are going to deal with the rocks and water. They might just shut it off for an hour or two each day while they place them and then turn it back on till they are ready to place some more, but accourding to Phil, they will be working on them into next week.
