  1. Sounds like a good night. How were the crowds? Sounds like a few OAF'ers were out there. I was tempted to come down, but thought I'd better leave it to the weekenders.
  2. Thoughts and prayers go out to Vince's family and you too Phil. I think I was fishing just down and around the corner that day you, Paul, and Vince were catching those sockeye. I got to meet him a few other times over at Swan Creek. All I can say, a kind man.
  3. Looks like you got to enjoy a great day with a special friend! Awesome!
  4. Great fish no doubt about it......But let us hear about this River Monster!
  5. DD'sMC and I are finally out of the Bush of Western Alaska and soon to be back home. Rumor has it that you guys are starting to warm up the brown fishing for us. All I can say is that after watching people fish for the last 120 days, we are ready to put the rods in our own hands and do some hard core fishing ourselves. We had a great season up here in Alaska and we will be posting some pictures over the next couple of weeks. Cant wait to get back home and put some bend in the rod!
  6. Great dinner with you at Eddies...I know it's your favorite! See you in Oct. when we get back and swap some stories with you about Yantarni.
  7. Sent you an email Tim. To hard to call from western AK unless your in the shop at 1 a.m. Empty your messages on the forum. Your all filled up and not gettting new ones.
  8. Friday dinner at 6.
  9. One of my largest bass came from Busch. About 25 years ago, upon returning from the desert in April, went to one of the smaller lakes and caught an 8 pound 1 ounce large mouth. Have caught several others in the past around the 5 pound range. Would get a nice one about once a year from the pond by the rifle range. Great place to go when you live in the STL area and only have a couple of hours to fish.
  10. Welcome to the forum. Spent some time in the St. Charles/St. Peters area myself. Got tired of drivin so far to get into some good trout fishing, so I moved to Southern, Mo. Now I only spend the winters in Mo.
  11. Welcome to the forum. Believe it or not, I'm a Hoosier transplant. Lived in Putman County, (Cloverdale) till the 7th grade when the family moved to St. Charles. Took me forever to migrate down to Southern Missouri. Now I only spent the winters here. Lots of great things to do in this state. You will get lots of ideas from this forum.
  12. pexlove has a point about others catching and taking pictures of fish out of season. Guys on this forum float rivers and streams all the time before bass season opens on June 1st and take pictures of the bass they catch and can not keep. Keep us informed how this turns out pexlove.
  13. That is one nice walleye!
  14. Now that looks like some fun. All they needed was some shotgun action in there.
  15. Sorry to learn of all the damage you encountered. That tree must have been impressive. I'm glad you and your family were not injured.
  16. MC's Daughter spent the weekend with us 2 weekends ago, and I whip finished a few in her hair for her. She liked them a lot, even with me using a little super glue to secure the whip finish. She said they stayed in for almost a full week that way. Sfhe had a great time digging through all my hackles.
  17. I like the chop saw method better
  18. About 30 minutes or so ago
  19. We watched it spin for about 45 seconds then split in to two vortexes and then go back up into the wall cloud. When it split, it had two tails. I'm no expert either, just wanted to give Phil a little warning just in case.
  20. I'm sure this will be a short lived fad. 1 yr. at the most. I think I've got enough hackle to last me that long.
  21. One approach to stop the immediate demand for the fashion feathers might be the same path as fur fashion has gone. Might have to give PETA a call......
  22. With all this rain, they should be nosing up to the dam of Springfield lake right now. You do not need a hook to catch them on the fly rod. A peice of freyed nylon rope work works great as a lure or fly.
  23. Just below the dam is where I have caught them before.
  24. James River below springfield lake or even down at Blunk Hole. I've already caught 3 of them in the last couple of weeks fishing for white bass.
  25. Yep. It spears that our petition pulled off the internet that started off like a statement from Larry The Cable Guy did hold some water. That, along with some phone calls from concerned angler and floaters, as I hear, has proved to provide a positive outcome to the meeting. Hopefully Chief will fill us in completely
