  1. Thanks to all that organized todays event. While the fishing was trying, the chance to meet a number of the OA folks was great. And I ate enough food for two! Look forward to the next effort.
  2. Had a problem with squirrels chewing up my gazebo. Got my kids old daisy powerline 880 out, put a scope on it and now working on a population reduction project. Puts them down pretty good when I can hit em. Out beyond about 12 - 15 yards though I'm not the best shot. And the little buggers are getting smart, when I see them in the yard and try to sneak out, the noise of the door handle sends em packing. Sure is fun though.
  3. Can you describe ripping a jerk bait?
  4. Braid or fluorocarbon and what lb test?
  5. Muffin looks like he wants to get on the water! I like the boat especially the adjustable seat.
  6. I annually change oil and check it every third trip or so, along with the other maintenance recommended in the manual. Came to oaf to try and get some ideas before I went to another mechanic.
  7. That's about where I was going. Run it like crazy until it blows! Then get me a new boat.
  8. I regularly check the oil but will confirm if it is below the crosshatch. Ran it in a test tank, never took it for a ride. Not sure if they tested for adequate oil pressure. Is there a particular way that they can check the actual oil pressure that I should ask them to test?
  9. I have a 2006 mercury, 25 horsepower four stroke. Every once in awhile when cruising at 5000 - 5500 rpms, I get the warning alarm, engine slows to an idle. I can turn it off then back on and it runs fine. Took it to a local mercury dealer, put a new oil pressure sensor in. Still doing the same thing, periodic alarm warning etc. took it back to dealer, checked for engine codes, didn't find any and couldn't get the engine to replicate the problem. Charged me $60 and said they didn't know what to do. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can provide.
  10. Put in about five miles above shady beach resort, I think it is called pineville
  11. Great pics, looks like muffin is doing well!
  12. Water was a little low but not bad. Caught a decent number of smallmouth, avg size 10 -12 inches. Most on small jig worm. Did do a little flyfishing, best fly a brown wooly worm. Tried top water but not much happening. Beautiful days, great weather, good trip.

  15. That or a Sunday/Monday would work to.
  16. I'm interested if I can make my schedule work. Are you thinking about a weekend or week day?
  17. Dave's an animal with a fluke. Probably had 5 to every one I had. It's fun just watching him except on the hook set. Practically threw me out of our little boat.
  18. Hey wrench, you just made my day!
  19. On that guide wear stuff, try a product called revivex. A type of waterproofing recommended for goretex. May get you a few more years before you need to start donating plasma.
  20. Bill b., I'd be up for some white bass action next Sunday as well as learning some new technigues, if you think we can get on a few.
  21. Wonderful info, thanks for setting this up and recording it!
  22. Would you be willing to do a video of the tying process? Helpful to us rookies!
  23. Anybody have an update on fishing reports, coming down this weekend.
  24. First chance on taneycomo, will be wading. Any suggestions on spots to fish or flies to use?
