I have had good customer service with St. Croix rods as well. Same with G Loomis.

Yes it was my Ultrex that broke a steering cable. We missed about 2 1/2 hours of fishing time trying to fix it. I just got it back today. We have winter storm warnings going on through Sunday, with the possibility of 1/2 inch of freezing rain.We were able to use the Spot Lock to help us fish, but we felt we could have won if the trolling motor hadn't broke. It was a fun trip and we caught a lot of fish, just nothing huge.Looking forward to the ice melting off the northern Michigan lakes so we can fish for the big smallmouths that live there. If you have never fished Michigan, you should give it a try. A lot of great fisheries. Hope to be able to visit Table Rock again next spring. I have been coming there almost every spring since 1980. Good luck with your fishing the rest of this year.

Until your steering cable breaks. I just got my Ultrex back today.

I agree it was one of the better fishing weeks I have had in 38 years of visiting the rock in the spring.I brought a newbie to Table Rock and he said he now understands why I come back here every year.We were catching 30-50 fish every day and weighed in three limits in the Aunts Creek Buddy Tournament, fishing with an Ultrex with a broken cable after 11:00am the first morning. Two of the guys from our cabin caught 6-7, and 6-2 Largemouths.
-
I caught this 6.14 the same weekend as the KVD Big Bass Tour last year. It was during the Aunts Creek Resorts Association Tournament.
-
These big smallmouths are feeding on Gobies, alewives, yellow perch, and crayfish.
-
Some Michigan Smallmouths. Largest was 6 pound 4.6 ounces that anchored a 22 pound 5 ounce sack on Pentwater Lake, which is a drowned river mouth with a channel to Lake Michigan.

I have used these for quite a few years on bass that have been caught in deep water and want to lie on their backs or side. I have used ice fishing depth finders made of lead also.
-
I bought a new Z 519 Ranger last summer and as soon as I got it home Minn Kota came out with the Ultrex and Humminbird came out with newer Helixes. Hard to keep up. I ordered a new Ultrex, but that is back ordered. My last Ranger was with me for 14 years, and I hope I live that long to fish this one 14 years.

I would cancel if I was you. Have you seen any of the pictures or Drone Videos?

I caught a bunch of fish on Table Rock throwing a 2.8 or 3.3 Keitech using a 3/16 round ball jig that I bought from the Tackle Shop in Springfield, just a little south of bass Pro. Fin and Feather I think was the name of the store. All three kinds of bass up to over 4 pounds, and even two bonus walleyes over 20 inches.

I had thought about trying to do both tournaments, but it would take some cooperation from the Aunt's Creek Association because after you weigh in, both tournaments want to keep your fish. Chances are, I would not have fished the spot I did if I had been in the BBT. It's a long ride to Long Creek Marina from Aunts Creek. $360 in Entry fees + Gas burned in Long Boat Rides = No Guarantees You will catch a Big Bass. I have talked to Dick Stuart of Oak Hill Resort about next year's BBT/Aunt's Creek Buddy Tournament, but what are the odds?

My partner this past week caught a lot of fish on the Ned Rig. I plan on using it up here in Michigan. I think it will be a great bait for my 5 1/2 year old grandson to fish too.
-
Sunday was slow for us also. Only two fish, but one was the 6.14. Congrats on your overall win!
-
The A-Rig has been pretty slow, but it did catch two key fish for me in the derby I was in over the weekend.
-
I thought about fishing the BBT, but we have a great time staying at Dick Stuart's Oak Hill Resort and if I had entered the BBT, I wouldn't have chosen to fish the spot I fished on Sunday.I would like to try the BBT some time though. I've done pretty good in some Big Fish Derby's up in Michigan. I bought a new Z 519 Ranger last summer and its already paid for, so a Nitro wouldn't be needed. Congrats to the guy that won the boat. I hope he was in need of a new boat. I know guys that have won boats and it can be a bit of a hassle, but after it is done with, you should have some extra bucks in your pocket.
-
I guess I should of entered the KVD Big BASS Bash instead of the Aunt's Creek Association Buddy Tournament. I had Big Bass today with a 6.14 pound largemouth.

I agree with abkeenan. As he said, you might be able to get a little more to the right buyer. The prices are up a little right now If you don't want to pay the fees on eBay, there are a few different Facebook pages where you can buy and sell them.
-
I bought some:) I watched a guy doing a Ned Rig seminar at the Ultimate Fishing Show in Grand Rapids, MI lat weekend. Compared to an earlier seminar where the guy was trying to sell his tube baits. the fish could not leave the Ned alone.

What is a legal Umbrella Rig in Missouri?

Looks to me that as long as you only ave three jigs/hooks, you can have as many wires as you want. -
What is a legal Umbrella Rig in Missouri?
edyer replied to edyer's topic in General Angling Discussion
ALABAMA RIG REGULATIONS VIOLATIONS? REPORT THEM >> The Alabama, umbrella and similar rigs may be fished in Missouri so long as they use only three lures or baits. The remaining attachment points can include similar baits so long as their hooks have been removed or other hook-less attractors such as spinner blades are used. This rig is intended to be fished using a rod and reel. The Alabama rigs we have seen have more than three wires and attachment points. These rigs may be used but only with up to three hooks. (Each bait or lure counts as a hook.) The additional wires and attachment points can be used. However, whatever is attached may not include a hook. You may also clip the extra wires and attachment points off or not use them at all. -
What is a legal Umbrella Rig in Missouri?
edyer replied to edyer's topic in General Angling Discussion
Does anyone know if there is something in writing stating what is legal? There have been some new designs made that have 7 and 8 wires, but only put swim jigs on three of the wires.I'm thinking of making some similar to those if they are legal in Missouri. It can get pretty expensive if you loose them on a tree! -
I'm pretty sure that no more than three hooks/jigs can be on an Umbrella Rig in Missouri waters, but how many wires can be used? I have used three wire rigs and five wire rigs with two dummy(hookless) baits, but I know some people in Michigan use 7 and 8 wire rigs. In Michigan, you can legally use 6 hooks/jigs on a rig, and dummies on any wires over 6. Are there any particular kinds or brands that would be your favorite to use?

When I first came down to Table Rock in 1980, I was told by a tackle shop owner, that all I needed was a V 37 (Brown Crawdad) and a V 38(Green Crawdad). He said that Stacey King had told him that. We caught a lot of fish on them on Table Rock, and I have caught a lot of fish up in Michigan on them also. Three years ago I got wind that the prices were going pretty high, so I sold most of the warts I owned. Some for as much as $60-$80. I just couldn't justify fishing a $80 bait. I also sold some for a couple of my friends and wrote them nice checks. They had offered me 30% of the profits and they were over-joyed with how much money they received. This past year I have been buying and selling some, and have kept more than enough to fish with. I have a little fun with dealing with the buying and selling, and have made some friends across the U.S. through selling them Warts. I do most of my buying and selling using Facebook because it is free. If you have any questions about Warts, I would be happy to try and answer them. My Facebook name is Ed Dyer if you want to friend me. Sounds like the Rock Crawlers catch fish and I'm sure the New Warts do also, but I will be throwing the Pre-Rapala or the second generation Warts(They have great paint jobs and a tighter wiggle that some of my Michigan friends prefer.
