  1. Sale fell through. Still available.
  2. Ya, it says part 1 in the video title so I am assuming that there will be a part 2, etc hopefully.
  3. Just thought I would pass this along. KVD must have been on TR very recently as he said in the video it is early fall. Some helpful stuff in here: http://www.wired2fish.com/fishing-windy-banks-with-kevin-vandam-part-one-m17352 and for you walleye guys Chase Parson gives some good tips about leadcore trolling and he appears to be on TR also in the video: http://www.wired2fish.com/trolling-crankbaits-with-lead-core-line-and-berkley-fireline-m17345

  6. Another 7+lb'er for Big Bass. Seeing some big fish here the last couple of weeks. Good to see and good luck in the championship Jason.
  7. Just wondering what you guys think and whether you use either green tinted line or clear line.
  8. Don't act like you don't know what damaged the ramp and who roped off half the ramp. Just one step closer to achieving your master plan of keeping everyone out of "Your Creek". Just Kiddin'.
  9. Bill, Good info on the hooks. I guess I really never thought about the damage they can do to a fishes mouth. May have to reconsider. As far as the EWG's go I haven't had an issue with killing fish on them. I think the EWG's are necessary on bulky baits like fat grubs, brush hogs, etc where you need some extra clearance for that hook point to come out and stick them. Only time I use EWG's is texas or jika rigging. With big 10" worms or any worm for that matter I use just the regular offset worm hook because the plastic is not as bulky and you don't need the clearance. All of this is my opinion obviously. As far as Jigs go I have been using Bass X Jigs out of Rogers, Ark. as I like their color selection and price is fair as well as trying to keep the money close to my region or as local as possible. They also don't use the EWG's and I don't think you need an EWG on an exposed hook like a jig or jig head when swimming a grub/swimbait or something like that. I've been looking at Pig Stickers Jigs and might give them a try as their prices are also fair. I loaded up on Bass X so I am good for a while on those buy when I need to load up again I will look into the Pig Stickers for sure. Thanks again Bill.
  10. Have to agree with Denny. There is just a WEALTH of info on the forum right now mostly from Babler with others chiming in pretty much daily right now. Has everything you need to know about whats going on down there.
  11. Bill, I know you are a fan of the daiichi death trap. I have those on some of my baits when I replaced the stock trebles on baits 2-3 years ago and they are good but I switched to Owner hooks now almost exclusively with some Gammy's here an there for EWG hooks for grubs, brushhogs and worms. But I think Owner makes the best hooks on the market IMO. I use the Owner Stinger trebles (ST-41 2x strong) on my cranks, etc and talk about sharp....wow. I now will not buy any other brand of hook after using them. They are hands down the sharpest hooks I have ever seen. I have some Trokar hooks that I got for free on a promo they were running on their website and they are awesome hooks as well and just as good. SUPER SHARP just a little too pricy for me. Next time you are at BPS maybe pick up a pack of some Owner's and see if you don't agree. Worth a look for sure.
  12. Here are my custom paint patterns I had done on some pre rapala warts. Went with a color I thought most closely matched the long pincered crayfish in Table Rock, the olive/brownish color with blue accents and orange dots/accents. The other color was just kinda close to my favorite v209 color in the original warts and a little chartreuse on any bait never hurts IMO.
  13. A 7.40lb'er. Wow nice fish.
  14. What do you guys think? Yes, no, maybe so? Fact or fiction? Have my fair share of both and just want to hear others opinions on the subject.
  15. Man Bill....too much information. Leave a little to the imagination why don't ya? As always top notch info. I feel like I owe you a check in the mail having my eyes seen that report. Just fantastic.
  16. Go out on the water around 11AM-5PM and you will have both at once.
  17. Ya I have been wanting to pick up some just to have if the water gets that high again. I threw a buzzbait last year in all those flooded trees and did alright but I think that money hound would be even better cause you could work it slower and keep it next to the cover longer. Frogs are pretty pricy considering they are just soft plastic/rubber really. $10-15 bucks? Come on. The money hounds are 4 for $7 plus hooks so I can handle that.
  18. On a side note of breaking the law I found a Yumbrella A-Rig in a tree top on a secondary point in Beardsley and it had all 5 arms loaded with hooks. Beardsley must be for the degenerates of Table Rock, which is why we have a place there lol.
  19. I have rarely bought a DD22 as I always find them on TR! What I find and then use are Fire Tiger, Nutter Shad, Green/Chart/White, Chart./Blue and then one I have had the best luck on is the Texas Shad that has a pearl and pink kinda thing going on. When I find them I usually check the bill to see how much use they have gotten and figure the more worn down the lip the better the color/lure must be since the person who lost it must have had confidence to throw it so much so it must catch fish. But the shad patterns are best IMO.
  20. That looks to be killer when the water is way up in the trees and bushes. Last year and in '08 (I think that was the other year with super high water levels) would be the ideal time to throw that frog it seems. I thought about getting some money hounds and trying those out during high water but will have to wait til the floods come back, if ever. Thanks for sharing....my wallet....not so much.
  21. No problem Bill. Its the least I can do with all the time you spend on this forum trying to help the rest of us out with your reports and tips. I will also add that the brush hog out fished the 10" worms also. Another thing we went out around 3PM for 2 afternoons catching "perch" (long ears, green ears, etc) to load the trot line and caught some real nice "eaters" with some nice bull bluegills mixed in as well. We always just use small spinners with a 1/16th oz leadhead and 1" tiny tube and slay them. Big chunk rock/boulder/shelf rock locations are best in 0-5' FOW and you will catch some 5"-12" or sometimes even keeper bass on these things. If you have kids this is the ticket as its just about every cast you catch one and are constantly getting nipped back to the boat. Trot line did ok loading it at night and checking in the morning and again checking evening when re-loading. In 3 nights and 2 days with just about 10 hooks baited we caught 4 flathead and 1 channel all in the 3-6lb range. Cats + "perch"/bluegill = great fish fry. Good luck out there.
  22. Fished from the 4th to the 8th starting around 5AM and never on the water past 9AM in the mornings and fished evenings from 8-11ish. Was just too hot being 100+ each day and with the boat traffic. Had good success or at least better that I thought with the heat. Fish in the mornings came pretty shallow anywhere from 5-25 ft on secondary points with wood on them. Also had good success on mainlake transition banks that went from pea gravel to chunk/shelf rock. Evening fish were a little deeper and seemed to be one here one there kinda a thing and didn't have much luck around docks at night as I usually do. I think the key deal here is wood more than anything else. Topwater was ABSOLUTELY NON-EXISTENT the entire trip and never saw any whites. Picked up a few on the DD22 early in the mornings but no size to them so switched pretty quickly to soft plastics and did much better. All fish caught where either smallies or LM's and if you can believe it not one single spot the entire trip. Not even a 12" football which I have been accustomed to catching seemingly when nothing else will bite. I tried out 2 different rigs and fished them the entire time and like them both. The ned rig boated the share of the fish and the brush hog rigged "jika" style wasn't far behind in #'s and heavily outgunned the ned rig in size/quality. Threw the ned rig on 1/8th oz (I think) standup jig head with a cut in half 5" green pumpkin YUM dinger. Great little rig and that "nub rig" as I referred it as all week is a great, simple little rig and each "nub" last for what seem 20 or more fish. If it gets beat up just turn it or flip it and re-rig it and your good to go. Thanks to dtrs5kprs for showing the ned rig on the forum. Its a simple little rig and the exposed hook will snag more but not nearly as much as I thought even fishing timber and pulling it threw it but also leads to a better hook up % and I will take that trade off for sure. Really like the brush hog rigged on my own version of the "jika" rig. Comes through cover/tree/rocks just great and snags less than the typical bullet style sinkers I used texas rigging it. Also casts better and I like the free floating type action it has. Anyhow was a great week/weekend on the rock. All fish in pics released swimming at the dock. Get out early, take nap, have nice lunch and dinner and then go out after the wakers are gone and you should be fine.
  23. x 2. Fished from 5-9AM (starting Wed morning ending Sat night) and fished evenings from 830ish til around 11PM. Temps cooler and also less boaters. Wakers and Skiers out at 7-8AM and wave runners sleep about an hour or two later and come out around 9-10. That was my observation for the last 5 days. Jason I know what you mean about the crazy and careless boaters pulling the poor little kids that don't know any better and have idiots for parents. I was out on Friday night and was fishing in Beardsley branch around pt. 2 and a guy in a center console Mako (not 100% sure if that was the make) was pulling his son (about 6 y/o or so) with 2 other sub 10 years olds in the boat at about 9:30ish in the evening right out in the middle of the creek. It was entirely too late to be doing any sort of water sports and it was down right dangerous. He also stopped about 2-3 times right out in the middle of Beardsley to let the other 2 in the boat jump out into the water for a short 1 minute swim while the other younger one just sat in the tube waiting to get pulled again. Just idiotic. Don't even think he had a ski flag up and even if he did not even sure you would have been able to see it, it was that dark out by then.
