I posted a topic on bassboatcentral about this about a month ago after I watched the live weigh in on the FLW tournament and saw some guys plugging the new baits coming out by Luck E Strike. They were showing the "wiggle wart" knock off at the time so I did a search and found that Luck E Strike has a few new line of baits and also ran across the rick clunn "vision 110" rip bait....or rip off I should say. But at around 5 bucks you can buy 5 or 6 for the price of ONE megabass. Who knows if they will perform like the Vision 110 but I'll be sure to give them a shot this spring. Here is the link to the RC Stick and "wart hog". http://www.luck-e-strike.us/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/75957-lsusa-Show-Catalog-2011-3.jpg http://www.luck-e-strike.us/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/75957-lsusa-Show-Catalog-2011-4.jpg

There is a marker on the shore on the point just south of point 2 that indicates that the MDC has sunken stumps in that area. I havent had any success there but there is a sign that is clearly visible.
-
Just wondering if anyone has been out for crappie lately and if you have had any success?

Bill I know that book would be on the OA Best Sellers List for sure. I know I always get a chuckle at some of your misfortunes with clients and their on the water shenanigans you have to endure without snapping. Just those life situations that are not funny while happening to you until later that day, month or even years when you retrospect and you just have to laugh at it. Know what I mean Vern? -Brett

Chief Grey Bear don't take it personal. Jeez. To call everyone that enjoys the lake (fisherman, boaters, tubers, waverunners) azzholes is a little offensive and generalizing. I do all of thee above and am no asshole and neither is my family who participate in these activities. Everyone is entitled to enoy the beautiful area/lake as long as it is still PUBLIC. Are there jerks that come out and act like morons on the water (in various water going vessels)????? Sure. There are jerks in all walks of life from work to church to fisherman. I think the majority of people are good people but yet again the old adage of one bad apple ruining the bunch applies here and that is a shame. On another note, I have never fished a pro-am tournament and was thinking of giving it a whirl at some point starting next year. So thanks to all of your comments and opinions as it is VERY insightful and loaded with info that I needed. I want to be as polite as possible even if the pro is not. I have no idea as to what is the norm. So a few more questions: 1. How many rods can you bring onto the pro's boat? 2. Is a large soft tackle box with the plano 3600s fine to bring aboard or should you downsize? Again no clue. 3. Food and Beverage? What is the deal here? Do you guys eat during a tournament? Small soft cooler with water and sandwich, etc? 4. If the AM is snagged is it rude to ask the Pro to go get the bait? Just break off? 5. Do you provide your own life vest? 6. Do you net each others fish? Seems polite but if a mistake is made netting on my end I would just assume jump in the water and swim home and feel awful. 7.. Do you arm wrestle for gas money fee at the end of the day? Thanks- Brett

I think a formal (but not THAT formal) OAF golf and fishing tournament combo would be really fun and a way to meet new people. Say fish Saturday and Golf Sunday or visa versa. Don't know if you could have a round of golf and a 5-6 hour tournament jammed into one day or not. Winner would be a combination of both scores and partners drawn at random? Maybe next year during spring time? Just a thought.

Crankbait Rods Under $100
abkeenan replied to Billfo's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
My 2 cents here. I did a lot of research and gathered info on various rods for jigs, cranks, finesse stuff, jerkbaits, etc etc. Most of the guys said that BPS rods are for the most part not very good. But the one rod that BPS makes that lots of guys said was good especially for the money was the BPS crankin' stick. When you are cranking sensitivity is not all that big of a deal as it is a reaction strike. If you don't plan on fishing much the rest of the fall or winter you might want to hold off on buying a rod and wait til the spring sales at Bass Pro or other tackle shops. When BPS do their annual spring classic sale stuff you can get their rods on sale for $10-30 or more off the original price. -Brett -
You guys are saying this is the worst Table Rock has ever been and some of the guys have been fishing the Rock for over 40 years. Why do you think it is so terrible fishing right now? Weather? Fishing pressure? Tournaments? Boat Traffic? Smarter Fish? What gives?

Maybe try Roland Martins "Helicopter Lure". Probably the only lure these fish havent seen.

I guess #4 will be the winning color since the fish in TR are obviously Missouri Tiger fans and will visciously attack anything with red and blue color combinations.

Getting 3 pre rapala wiggle warts repainted and was wondering if you guys could help me pick a color that would be good for Table Rock. I already have a few pre rapala warts in the green craw (v38), brown craw (v37) and nat. red craw (v209) so I kinda want to get something a little different from those colors. All 3 warts would get the same paint job. Vote for the # you guy think is best. Thanks! #1 #2 #3 #4 #5

Couldn't agree more. I am not a tournament fisherman and am not blaming/bad mouthing them by any means. I just think there are entirely TOO MANY tournaments going on at TR. Give the fish a break. I realize that some of these large tournaments generate A LOT of revenue for the local businesses....resorts/hotel/motels/tackle shops/restaurants/etc and that is great. Not saying do away with tx's by any means but at some point I think the tx's need to be reigned in a bit for the fishery's sake. I just don't want to see TR turn into LOZ as far as lake traffic and pollution. I wouldn't eat a fish outta LOZ for a million dollars. My 2 cents.

Thanks Bill. I originally put this post on the buy-sell-trade because thats where it belongs but I also posted here in the TR forum as it gets more action and I know how the TR anglers are NUTS over wiggle warts and figured I might have a better shot here. You're right about maybe needing a spot on the forum about JUST GEAR. I think fisherman enjoy talking about their tackle/gear/rigs/toys/future toys as they do actually fishing. lol. Thanks again. -Brett

Looking for PRE RAPALA wiggle warts that are in rough condition/paint damaged and maybe you arent fishing them anymore or they are collecting dust somewhere. If they are in rough shape I would like them anyways. I have some new in package SPRO mcsticks in chrome shad I could offer in trade or cash. Let me know.

The color mouse is basically like a smoke (IMO). Smoke is an awesome color on TR. Swimming a smoke grub is hard to beat at times and my favorite color for the swimmin' minnow is smoke as crappie seem to prefer them over any color I have tried. I also catch a ton of bass on those little 3" smoke minnows when crappie fishing. So to answer your question I think a smoke buzzbait would work well.

Dodson with the lead @ 27-02. Champ you were 2 oz's off, I think you are part fish now.

Im just guessing here but I would assume by "Cedar Cove" he may be refering to Big Cedar? Just as guess it appears he was fishing the dam area.

I thought you were one of those PETA types that want to see fishing outlawed as they claim it hurts the fishes mouth and the fish are "sufferring". Im sure some of you have seen this interview with KVD as it is not latest news but it drives me nuts and I want to reach threw the computer and strangle this PETA guy Bruce. Bill "The Impaler" Babler of Table Rock. Don't you just feel awful Bill tricking all those poor fish with your lures putting smiles on clients and kids faces? Just a matter of time before Bill is dragging cats and dogs by hooks behind his car. lol. heres the link for a good laugh: http://www.anglerwise.com/2010/03/23/peta-is-loosing-their-battle-against-fishing/ At what tackle shop can I get my hands on those "Your Daddy Kills Animals" fishing comic book? I wonder if Bass Pro Shops greeter hands them out?

Laker I appologize as I thought you were serious and bashing poor Bilfo. Just a misunderstanding. Guess I didnt get the joke. Again I am sorry.

1- I don't believe that is a Williams Crayfish, just the standard Long Pinchered common crayfish all over Table Rock. Not sure but looking at the pics they don't appear to be the same species. 2- Laker take it easy. I am willing to bet 99.9999999999999999999999999% of Missouri's population (me included) have no idea what the Williams Crayfish is nor that it is endangered. Kinda thought it was a rude comment to Bilfo. All he was doing is what pretty much everyone else here would have done........eat the thing. So Bilfo don't feel bad.
