  1. Not 100% sure but I believe just their lower end rods were made in China (BuCoo's). But the higher end models like the Cara's I thought were still made in the good ol' U S of A. If anyone would know it's Babler. Maybe he will chime in with the facts. Would be a real shame if they did shift the entire production to China.

  3. Bump. We have 13 participants thus far. Come on ladies and gents!
  4. He's been a STICK the last few years on those Florida lakes. He has (or did) them dialed in on his old school spinnerbait and chatterbait. What a legend.
  5. I have updated the group message board with PayPal and other payment info. I did that originally but naturally it was on the duplicate group (that I have since renamed XXX) and NOT in the one that people have joined. Let me know if anyone else has any questions or have other payment needs.
  6. 10 bucks TOTAL for the year. This isn't a get rich scheme. Just a friendly competition with some guys that the end that get to play on Tackle Warehouse with little house money.
  7. My brother alerted me to that fact. Not sure what the heck happened but it was a glitch within BASS's website. I couldn't delete the one group so I renamed it XXX and I am the only one in that group. So just ignore that group and enter the Ozark Anglers group that already has a bunch of people in it. Sorry for the mishap!
  8. Ladies and Gents, Whelp, that time is already here. Feels like the season just ended as COVID prolonged the Elites all the way into November. Seems like the $10 up front entry fee we did last season was a success and people liked it. Everyone got their payments to me rather quickly last year which was nice for me and hope that is the case again this year. PayPal is still preferable as that is the easiest method for most, including me. I can also do Venmo as an option. If you don't have either of those payment systems then I can accept cash through the mail if you are willing to take on that risk of mailing cash (I am not dealing with checks). I would take no liability in money lost in the mail. League entry fee is due by the start of the first tournament which starts 2/11 on the St. Johns River. If you have not paid by that time then you will not be eligible to win prizes in the league even if you continue to participate in filling out rosters every event. Once you have signed up for the league the payment information is on that message board. Or you can directly PM me here on Ozark Anglers. The prizes will be in the form of Tackle Warehouse gift cards at various values. The value of those gift cards will be determined on interest and amount of people that join the league. The payout will scale accordingly from 1st prize to an agreed upon (by the league majority) last winning place. Example: 25 entries x $10 = $250 in pot TW Gift Cards 1st - $100 2nd - $75 3rd - $50 4th - $25 - Something along these lines. To sign up go here: http://bassmasterfantasy.com/ For those of you new to fantasy fishing its very simple and requires very little effort or skill. The only thing you need to do is FILL OUT A TEAM EVERY WEEK there is an event. You miss one tournament event then it is hard to compete for prizes as it is nearly impossible to make up those lost points. See above link for more info. Please register your name AS THE SAME NAME/HANDLE you have here on Ozark Anglers as it's easier for everyone to identify each other. To join the league find the OZARK ANGLERS group I've created after you've registered an account. It is marked as private as to not let a bunch of people into the league. Group name: OZARK ANGLERS Password: smallmouth Please respond here on this thread for those that plan to participate so I can get an idea of how many will be joining. BASS will have some familiar faces back (JPow, Hackney, Jason Christie and a few others that have left MLF as did Swindle and BP last year) as well as some of the bigger sticks from FLW like Scott Martin. Field will be better this year than last year. Thanks and good luck this year!
  9. I'll start another thread for the new 2021 Season. I see that they already PPD the BMC and pushed it back from March til June. That stinks. I'll get that thread out shortly to get league going.
  10. When is a vaccine going to come out for people that like throwing the A-Rig? That's the true pandemic.
  11. Need to pick up some of those. Not only for Ned's but for actual crappie fishing as well. I've only ever used his standard bass jigs and I'll never use anything else so long as he keeps making them.
  12. I rarely throw it just because it's not my cup of tea. But when I do it's on one of Dave's heads and 1/16 or 1/8th. Like you, if I'm bouncing something on the bottom is going to be your standard jig, a big straight worm on a magnum stand-up head, D-Bomb on a swing head or big c-tail worm/brush hog on a jika rig. I don't fish on the MLF Tour so I'm not forced to fish the Ned for 45 one pounders.
  13. What head are you using? Maybe more importantly was size/weight are you using? Using a 1/32 up to a 1/8oz head I find it pretty hard to get snagged regularly. But you get above that weight for whatever reason, Table Rock and it's namesake bottom composition, will start to eat them up.
  14. Heard rumors that Christie, Hackney, Ike and Powroznik are moving back to BASS. Not sure if any of that has been substantiated yet.
  15. I know you were. Just didn't want to come off as a hater. I dislike the format not the pros competing.
  16. I don't mean to discredit any of the anglers on that tour. They are the BEST ANGLERS in the world. Period. Just the novelty of the format has completely worn off for me. Over the dinkfest. If BASS would get their heads out and just do the refereed immediate weigh and release system I think they'd put a hurtin' on MLF. Maybe someone that follows MLF more closely could educated me if they have changed any of their format to have some of their events the "biggest 5" or some combination other than always combined "scoreable bass" total weight.
  17. Interesting. Would have thought that MLF would have been the ones to make a big splash like this with a major national network live event. Looks like BASS is putting up a fight against the Many Little Fish league. Has to make you wonder if more MLF guys will come back to BASS if this kind of money is being tossed around. Which in the end is what made the pros leave BASS to go to MLF in the first place. Money talks. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/fox-sports-featuring-live-coverage-all-elite-events-and-classic-2021
  18. Guys. All winning contestants have been PM'd the gift card codes for Tackle Warehouse. Congrats! Maybe ONE of these years it will be me! I suck! Til next season. Tight lines. -Brett
  19. Congrats to T. Ryan (TMR624) for the 1st place finish in the Ozark Anglers Fantasy Fishing League. Well done! Congrats to the rest of the top 4 finishers as well. The Tackle Warehouse Gift Card payout shall be: 1st = $90 - tmr624 - T. Ryan 2nd = $50 - supremeJCK - J. Keenan 3rd = $30 - SoreThumbs - J. Mitchell 4th = $20 - Z Man - A. Danner I will knock out the TW gift cards today or tomorrow and Private Message the above individuals with the card codes. Thanks again for all who participated. See you again come January.
  20. He's not even looking at what he's actually physically doing. Not even looking at the water. LOL. After he casts he is just staring at his electronics watching the fish react to his lure on the screen. Drop shot used to be video game fishing but now with Panoptix Livescope you can do it with just about anything. I believe Walters is using a jerkbait. Insane.
  21. How about Rick Clunn! Feel like once a season the legend comes out of nowhere to have a great tournament. He's still got it!
  22. I'd be surprised if it doesn't come to that relatively soon. Really no reason to haul fish around all day for the weigh in with the technology we have now at our disposal to accurately weigh the fish and get them back into the water. I've been over MLF after the 2nd year they had it. Even before the massive shift of BASS Elites that moved over there. The dinkfest just doesn't do it for me. If it's on TV of course I'm going to watch it but I don't go out of my way to see it.
  23. Alright gentleman, last call on the last event of the season which starts tomorrow morning. Get those lineups set. Good luck to all and I will get in contact with the winners shortly after the season ends. Thanks to all of those that participated and hope to have it again next year.
  24. I belong to the Swimbait Universe group on FB. Lotta good info out there. The page has really turned into more about selling/trading baits that actual fishing the last few years if you ask me. People are OUT OF THEIR MINDS with what they pay for some baits. Just STUPID MONEY. A few years back a KGB Bullfrog went for something like $1,500 on Ebay if I recall correctly. Was the talk of the town on BBC and fishing forums. That was the most insane I'd ever seen. Some baits warrant paying a little more. Especially if hand-made. I get that. But the prices that some are willing to pay......something about suckers, birth and 60 seconds.
  25. No problem. I like watching the live steam of the events and then cursing my guys that are tanking. Then the following week cursing the guys doing well who I took the previous week but not this week. Never fails!
