  1. Good stuff there Richy. I need to get more in tune with patterning fish. Looks like I am just a little too happy to lucky compared to you. Really dialing it in there bud and it paid off with that 8.5lb'er.
  2. That's racial fish profiling Dave. Not cool.
  3. Dave if you spent more time making tackle than running over poor defenseless creatures of God you could be a one-stop-shop in the fishing industry. Nothing gets past you and if you get a little more familiar with resins and hard plastic molds and you could be the Super Walmart of Fishing Gear. You'd have more money than Johnny Morris in no time and then you could afford the gas to leave a 2 mile radius of Kimberling City. Dave's Duke Diaper Dandy's or Quad D Stores. I can see it now.......
  4. I feel like smallies and spots do that. Come up and violently smash a bait. Largemouth I feel like they just slurp it and casually swim off with it.
  5. Something about those spinners make them great. I think it's has a perfect amount of flex in that arm and really provides a lot of thump and feel. I only have 1 left in my plano. Probably won't get thrown.
  6. Quillback did a great job not doubt about it. Season wouldn't matter to me. Was just saying for sake of convenience for ALL OAF members that a mid lake location would best best for overall outcome for the event. A few people mention they wouldn't attend just based on logistics so to lessen the # of entrants from doing that a mid-lake (Baxter was mentioned) would work best for the masses. Not complaining or bashing, just saying.
  7. Ha. Haven't we all made donations to above surface shrubbery and trees? It's the price of learning. I should have looked harder as I see now that spinnerbait Carter used has the typical "R" bend and not the twisted eye like on the Mann's Hank Parker. I have some Booyah's and I like them as well. Took me down memory lane though with my grandpa nonetheless.
  8. Baxter would be a happy medium on location. But since it was on the FAR upper end this year it's only fair that it be on the lower end in Long Creek or near the Dam. Old 86 Park has plenty of parking! Next year will make it a point to attend. I also thought it would be a neat idea if every participant's entry fee would be a lure that is their "go to" on Table Rock. Nothing expensive. Say limit at no more than $10 to $15 or less and everyone gets a number, lures are numbered 1-50, etc and everyone gets a #/lure (not your own). Just thought that would be fun and maybe force guys to think outside their normal repertoire or arsenal they typically fish with. Quill get planning! I want sponsorship's! Network airtime on TV! Wrapped boats! White Sunglasses! Buffs! and most importantly OAF Jerseys loaded with patches!
  9. The S Waver 200's went up $10+ bucks this year. The 168's and 120's didn't go up in price. Not sure why that is but I would have to think because of it's overwhelming popularity and it's still the most affordable glide bait even with the increase in price.
  10. I'd say that is a pretty good one to end on!
  11. Awesome Richy!
  12. Nice fish there Carter. Is that an old Mann's Dave Parker Classic Spinnerbait? Love those spinnerbaits. Had one of my best days and weekends ever on one of those almost 20 years ago.
  13. Thanks for posting the video Phil. Looks like an awesome event and Quillback deserved that round of applause for setting it all up. Hopefully next year I'll be able to participate.
  14. 2.9 took home the hardware? Wow. Babler sandbaggin' or what?
  15. Then further down at the bottom it reads "...........At basketball anyways..."
  16. I'll take Denny just because I know he is a dam area guy. Gotta pull for the deeper clear water guys and not the river rats. If Alex were fishin' I might take him as he seems to have the magic touch on the biggun's. Good luck to all. Really hope to be part of this in the upcoming years.
  17. Old secret of the pro's. What you don't infuse your hard baits with onions, ballpoint pen ink and melt shipping tape to hold the ethernet cable fiber optic eyes and sound emitters in place? It keeps all the sub 15" fish off your bait. You and Dave are light years behind. Get with it.
  18. Hey. I got half of it right anyways. Which is more than my lifetime average.
  19. Awesome gesture by those two. Both make an awesome product as I have both. Would expect nothing less from "Show Me State" guys showing tackle makers how to do it right. Even if Dave is now a filthy Kansan.
  20. When he got some local tips to stay on top of gravel points and banks Mark must have took it to the extreme and a little to literal.
  21. I've seen Risto's that are custom weighted by a guy I forget the name I believe up north. Last name was Johnson if I recall but not sure. Anyhow if you have one he has "tinkered with" it goes from a $7 bait to about $30 or $40. I've also be playing with Redfin's as of late and tinkering. Took 4 that didn't work and made them with different size bills, angles and weighted. 2 of them were a success while one was a flop. Will post some pics maybe this weekend of them.
  22. OldMill, Good for the wrestling guys. Nice to see them doing well and start giving Iowa and Minnesota runs for their money when it comes to being powerhouses in the realm of NCAA wrestling. That being said I would trade a #1 wrestling team or championship for the last seed in the NCAA tournament for basketball.
  23. He also thought his boat had 4 wheel drive and went Evel Knievel trying to ramp his boat from the spillway sand bar to the Chateau on the Lake Beach at a BASS event about 4 years ago. This is the only pic I could find of the incident. Back when it happened there were a lot more. His boat was a good 10-15 yards up on that bar from what I recollect.
  24. 5bites, Those aren't pre-rap DT's. They won't work. Everyone knows that.
  25. I'll put my money on Donna following behind Champ in the back of the boat with a soft swimbait, jig or jerkbait. Don't call it lady luck for nuttin'.
