  1. Looks like most guys are going with a jig, crank or spoon. Have only seen Ike, Ashley and Howell so far but haven't seen nor heard any mention of a jerk bait bite.

  3. Heard Skeet Reese just took the lead. Hopefully on Bo's NuTech Jigs!
  4. I do understand how costly that could be offering a lifetime warranty. That being said how many loyal Shimano customers are you losing by getting rid of the warranty and how many potential new customers are going to now shy away from that rod knowing the warranty no longer exists? To me that was a HUGE selling point for them. It would sway me to purchase a Shimano over maybe a competitors rod in the same price point. You may save money not having to fulfill warranty claims but you also aren't going to be selling as many rods. I'm sure Shimano's product managers and finance guru's worked out the #'s that is best for the company and know far more than I. But, I just can't see it being good for the company IMO. They tried to cut corners on their G series reel lineup (Citica's but mainly Curados) and that bit them right in the arse. They had to totally scrap that model after only being on the store shelves for one year. Would love to see Shimano's rod sales figures (# of rods sold and profit margins) over the next couple of years compared to previous years when they had that great warranty.
  5. You can't go wrong with that setup for that price. I'm sure you will love it.
  6. I have a Duckett Ghost and really like it. Another board a guy posted a link of Duckett Macro Magic's for $100 shipped to your door. I have no experience ordering from them but that is a heck of a deal for that rod. http://stores.sheltonsclothing.com/boyd-duckett-fishing-macro-magic-fishing-rod/
  7. Nice video again Alex. Beer and Fishing on a hot summer day with buddies. Can't beat that.
  8. I lied. I also look at JannsNetcraft also.
  9. Sam, I'm sure that "strolling", which is what you are doing running the trolling motor to troll, would most certainly work. Only problems would be getting snagged pretty often and I think using a medium rod could potentially be a touch light. If you've never thrown an A-Rig (especially the bladed version with multiple blades) they have a fair amount of drag.
  10. Good tips Alex. Hadn't thought of stopping the footage so there is a break in recording so you know when you catch a fish. I have also heard about wiring direct power using the cigarette lighter outlet. I just went the battery route but the cigarette lighter is probably a better option.
  11. I just bought a Wasabi battery pack with charger off Ebay for cheap. Charge up 2 of the stock batteries that come with the camera and then the 2 Wasabi batteries and just switch them out as they run out of juice.
  12. We're all friends here. Share with the group. You're free to share without prejudice. This is a happy place.
  13. Alex, 1 - Nice Video 2 - So much for your other post blocking out background landmarks...lol 3 - I like the Metallica paired up with the video. 4 - I'm jealous
  14. Gary, In that price range might take a look at these rods. I think Champ or someone else might have suggested the Compre and this rod is meant for spinnerbaits but I think would also double nicely for your jerkbaits. Might look around and find them cheaper because I believe Shimano is in the process of updating all of their models and going back to all cork, standard reel seats and screw lock mechanisms (so not the up-locking screw seat as in the model below) and lastly phasing out all the models that still carry the lifetime warranty. They are going to a 1 year warranty on all their rods I believe (even TOP end models) and there is NO MORE over the counter dealer exchange program. I am getting away from Shimano rods for that reason but I do like them. Shimano Compre Reaction Casting Rod 6'10" Med Hvy Taper Line Wt. Lure Wt. Guides Handle Type Handle Length Price Stock Qty Fast 8-17lb 3/8-1/2oz 9+Tip Compre Reaction B Click to View 13" $109.99 3 Spinnerbait
  15. If I am buying tackle making supplies or gear LurePartsOnline or Barlow's are the only two website I look at.
  16. Difference is in physical size of reel, weight of reel, line capacity and rate of line recovery per turn of the handle.
  17. Awesome Bo. Hope Skeet does well then and your product gets some air time on TV. That would be really neat to see and I'm sure an influx of sales for you. Keep us posted.
  18. Nice. Those appear to be just about mint. Pre Rap Warts for whatever reason are starting to decline in value. I check in on Ebay from time to time for good deals on them and am noticing they aren't going for what they were 2 months ago or before then. Not sure why that is....maybe the market is being flooded as people have found out grandpa's old lures have value or if new options (aka SPRO Rock Crawler, etc) have taken up a market share and people are getting away from the Pre Rap Warts. For whatever reason prices are dropping on them.
  19. Nice write up Dave.
  20. And don't ever forget it Champ. Ever.
  21. LOL. Pretty sure he was in the boat with Ike when he decided to put it 10 feet into a tree on the bank which was behind enemy lines littered with RPG wielding Sabine River woodland rebels. Or at least in Brian's mind he was.
  22. Agree wholeheartedly. WAY to many bowl games with mediocre teams in them but with the sponsorship and advertising dollars involved with them they aren't going anywhere. As usual...follow the money.
  23. I'm just giving you a hard time. Giving area, depth, presentation and bait is PLENTY to share with the board here. Showing pinpoint locations with pictures is hotspot suicide. Don't blame you one bit. That being said can I have the negatives of those pics? Lol. Again nice report. You're a dam area deep water rat like myself we need to meet up some time. -Brett
  24. He is for sure the "hot" angler the last year and one heck of a threat with a jig. You don't get a bait/jig named after you from a major lure manufacturer unless you are very good with it (SK Hack Attack Jig).
  25. McStick in Norman Flake or Ghost Norman Flake? Forgot to photoshop that out! Rookie move! lol.
