I know what you mean about bad experiences. Everything has not always been just perfect for me either at BPS. Oh well no matter. I also had a similar problem with a Shimano rod. My only option was to send the rod to Shimano which I did. I also included a money order made to Shimano for approx. $20 to cover return shipping. They sent me a new rod from a more expensive line, a step up, since they no longer had the rod I needed. Turnaround time was about 2 weeks. I was impressed. You might consider that approach. Good Luck.

I have to agree with Donna. You should be able to get over the counter exchange no questions asked. It is possible that has changed but I am not aware of it. I have done this more than once. I have also sent one in and paid postage both ways and they sent me a new one that was a better grade than the one I sent in. Could you post up here later how it turns out for our own information?

I don't hear you guys talk much about tubes. I would like to know what size tube you prefer if you fish a tube. 3" or 4"

Anglers In Action Championship Tourney Payout
getfished replied to Yellowfin's topic in General Angling Discussion
Wow! I just stumbled onto this thread. I sat out this year and was seriously considering fishing that circuit next year. I wonder if anyone has gotten to the bottom of this yet. I'm thinking there must have been something in the rules that allowed for this. It's a bit hard to swallow that AIA would do something this obvious. I hope that someone affected or a OAF member can post here what the final determination turned out to be. -
I would be interested to know what qualifications the People have that are making the drop location choices. I'm not trying to be a jerk but I am curious. Are these people heavy equipment operators, are they bean counters, are they fish biologists, are they people who have very intimate knowledge and understanding of the smallie preference as borne out by choice of the smallie himself? I do know that lots of well meaning bass fishermen sometimes sink scores of brushpiles while at the same time knowing that only a small percentage will be productive. This mentality may be operating in this case also. I would think that some of these locations would still be very productive small jaw spots if they don't totally inundate the flat with debris. I know the Corps and the MDC are well equipped to manage many different situations but there is a possibility that the intention is to do one thing without realizing the counter effects that sometimes occur on other issues. I'm really wishing I could get down there a bit more than I have lately but maybe someone should ask them point blank what their purpose in this endeavor is. Are they attempting to improve things for a target species or just fish overall in general.

First Time On Table Rock - First Time Taking A Boat Tomorrow
getfished replied to Bimmer's topic in Table Rock Lake
This first trip out due to the short window of remaining daylight it might be good opportunity just to do some cruising and browsing around. A time to check things out such as the depthfinder, bilge pump, trolling motor and that sort of thing. Get a feel for the how the boat handles and maneuvers. Just getting some hours on the water will help you feel more comfortable when you return to fish. I always fish more effectively when I am relaxed. If you have gotten comfortable with your boat on your first trip then you know what to expect and you can be more relaxed when you do fish. Take time to just get out on the water and enjoy the experience. One more thing, if this is your first boat here's an idea you might consider. After you launch the boat you might take just a few minutes to back away from the trailer and make a circle and then drive back onto the trailer to load. Figuring out how to set up and load properly for the first time is easier in the light than at night or low light levels. Enjoy. -
This link right here might be of some help. http://www.pure-gas.org/

I just wanted to post a notice here highlighting the recent success one of the Ozarks locals. http://www.basszone.com/2010zlines/ttbcday3.htm CONGRATS !

Was it a Champion Fish hunter model or a bass boat? Your post comes off sounding like Rangers are more comfortable than Champions. To some folks they are. I was just wondering if you were comparing apples to apples.

Not trying to argue here, just making a comment or two. Name or no name doesn't affect the inconvenience issue any. I don't understand what trotliners rationale is when they leave off their name tag. I am fairly sure most know the requirement. When I see one with no name I assume the owner is disrespectful of the legal requirements at best and possibly the owner of more than the legal number allowed at worst. Why would a trotliner do this ?

Bass In The Grass...humminbird Side Imaging
getfished replied to Doug Vahrenberg's topic in Table Rock Lake
So that's how a grass bed will appear? Nice ! -
Champ, Really glad to heat the surgery went well. Stick to the rehab plan and know that Rachel and I will be thinking of you and Donna this fall. We hope you have more good health to come and maybe someday we'll meet on the water. Tightlines

I use it all depending on the application. For plastics like shakey heads and dropshotting I use Berkely 100% fluoro. It can be troublesome though, you have to treat this line with more care. For all other plastics and jigs I use Hi viz Power Pro 15lb with a 12lb fluoro leader. I may have to try some of the Spider wire braid that Joe mentioned.

I use the triple surgeons knot. Put the 2 lines together in a loop held with your thumb and finger. Pass both tag ends through the loop 3 times. Pull tight after moistening. Voila ! It's the easiest for me and strong too.

Yes , I too truly enjoy reading those informative reports you create from the upper end. I'm stuck here in toto land and want to try to fish the upper end some when I get back down there. Thanks

If you upgrade to new Humminbird units I would strongly encourage you to consider the 900 series size as the smallest size for the console. As far as side image goes I don't think you will be happy with a smaller unit.

A bit of information I do not know is this: How do the different species compare considering reproduction rates? Are there significant differences in the number of eggs laid, bass, walleye, drum, bluegill, white bass and such? Same question for survival rates ? Seems like a fish that reproduces in much smaller numbers may require different attitudes and regulations than one that is very prolific. Anyone know how the bass compares to the walleye?

That's really great that you repaired/cleaned the area. Campgrounds and public use areas suffer from human shortcomings. Your efforts helped compensate a bit. Thanks from me up here in Kansas. I am groundskeeper at my local lake marina. One of my duties is to pick up litter first thing in the morning. We have several conveniently located dumpsters but it makes no difference. It is shocking and really hard to see it let alone believe it.

I know it's true! I saw it on the Internet! You all would be good o jurors. LOL ! have to agree Denny, it sort of disturbed me too. Can't unsee it though ! GETFISHED. !!!

I agree, we had no sun up here in Kansas Fri. morning until about 10:30. I went to a local lake and caught several with a Pop R. It's definitely nice to be lucky enough to catch the conditions just right. Those are nice pics posted here.

From where I sit back here in Toto Land, these are the kind of threads that keep this site listed on my favorites. Thank You Steve

Nice report and pics ! I'll be down in a day or two and I can't wait to get on the water. Keep those reports coming.

Thanks for the help guys. I was able to find some finally. Has anyone ordered from Basswishes lately? The website was not available for me and I did not get a return call. I wonder if something has changed ?

Can you guys throw out some options for picking up a Megabass Vision 110. I've tried several places looking for the Wakin Reaction including Tacklewarehouse but no luck yet. I really want one and quick!
