  1. goin tomorrow to look for stripers on top, but gonna beat the bank until I see em. I'll be in the Rambo area. I'll report back.
  2. I'm dign it. I'm sure it will get better as they get feedback from shoppers, but I like it overall.
  3. Bella Vista Marine. Mark runs the place, Ricky is a great mechanic, they will do you right.
  4. Also fished a club tourney on Saturday. We only weighed 8lbs. Caught all of ours on tw spook, chug bug, and most on bubble gum fluke. We did see some on beds also, but nothing big enough to work. We fished rocky branch, rambo area.
  5. Not fishing AiA this year. Just hasnt worked out schedule wise. We are fishing a local club. We still get over to the rock quite a bit though. We are probably going to fish the Mill Creek night tournament while we are there next week. Hope to see you. I've got the stickers on my motor, Maroon/Silver Skeeter.
  6. Got mine on. A group of 8 of us will be coming down 4/28-5/2. Staying at Aunts Creek Resort. Hope to run into some of you guys. Techo, if your up that way, stop and say hi. SkeeterP
  7. We fished the Rock today today in a small club tourney. I think we had 15-16 boats. Partner and I caught about 40-50 fish. 9 Keepers, all on jerkbait. We fished out of Big M. Fished from Big M to Shell Knob. I was throwing mcstick, blue bandit and norman flake. He was throwing clown excalibur. We had the best luck on the windiest points we could find. We got on one point and partner caught one 3 lbr and we caught about 12-14 more short fish on one little 20 foot section of bank inside the point. We ended up winning with a little over 16 lbs. I never tied on a grub, I wanted to and probably should have but was hard to put the jerkbait down. Also had one good walleye, thought it was a good bass, still fun.
  8. fished the rock today in a small tourney. I lost two of the blue bandits and it was catchn em before I lost them. I snapped one off on the cast, went up in the woods. We tried to find it but couldn't. I thought no big deal, I have another. I cut it off with my trolling motor.....brilliant. So I switched to Norman Flake and it was on fire too. Well, anyways thanks for the post about the good prices. I just ordered $50 worth also.
  9. yeh he had 4 fish on the deeper bait with one keeper and I had 5 fish on the Spro with 2 keepers. His was an off brand but it was pretty much like the lucky Craft Deep Divers. Color didn't seem to matter much. We caught them on 3 different colors. I did catch one on a deep diving bait on Saturday also Table Rock shad color.
  10. launched out of Big M both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was slow and the water was 41-44 degrees. We fish up from up river from Big M and I had 7 fish total i keeper LM. 3 on a swimming grub and 4 on a Spro, missed a couple of others on the Spro. We did quit fishing from about 7:45 to 10:00 and watched one of the FLW boys or we might have caught some more early in the morning. Fished down river from Big M on Sunday and found water temps from 43-48 degrees. Didn't have any bites on grub or wart or dragging a jig. Caught 9 on Jerkbait with 3 keeper spots, missed a couple of others, I was throwing a Spro, partner was throwing a deeper jerkbait.
  11. FLW boys are the devil Bobby Beuchet...Biggest load of crap. I'm not sure why I'm even bother to reply other than I read it over and over and it just gets to me some of the FLW haters. It's not the FLW guys, it's only a small % of individuals that act the way Bill is talking. Some people are respectful and some aren't. It has nothing to do with the FLW. I've been cutoff by local, buzzed by locals, had inappropriate actions at the ramp. I had a guy cut the corner in front of me so close, I got spray from his motor, this was in Anglers In Action 2 years ago. It has nothing to do with the individual, it has to do with how you were raised, how you respect yourself and others, and the choices you make to conduct yourself in a professional courteous way. Give the FLW boys a break! I am heading to the Rock on Sunday though, jerkbait all day, hope its good.
  12. my partner and I thought about fishing the team event on Sunday but we hadnt been on the rock in a couple of months. We ended up coming over and fished for fun in the Big M area from 6-1130. We had 23 fish, only 4 keepers. We caught ours on spook and buzzbait early, then we caught some on wiggle wart and we had shorts on a jig and a gitzit. 3 keepers on topwater and 1 keeper on the wart. The topwater fish were on bluffs and on shallow banks outside the flooded bushes. The wart fish were outside the flooded bushes...... SkeeterP
  13. Anyone know of any open tournaments this weekend on the Rock? NitroNick and I are coming over either way, so would be nice to get in one. Thanks, SkeeterP
  14. Hey Donna, Can you give me the details of the UA tourney on Beaver. We were thinking about going to the rock this weekend but we may stay in town and fish Beaver instead.......thanks.
  15. I was leaving out of viney creek on Sunday. I took my dad and my two 14 year old sons there last Thursday - Sunday. I had never camped there before, we had a great campsite right on that bluff across from Big M, we would just sit in our chairs and watch all the lake traffic in amazement. Some of those boats would pull skiers and tubers so close to that bluff wall right by the tree line. We would go out early and come in as soon as the traffic got bad. We did have some good topwater action each day, we went looking for some schoolies for my boys to get into but never had that much luck. My one boy did catch a nice 16inch sm on chug bug and the other caught a nice lm on chugbug beatn the bank. We also had some nice fish on the bluff just down from Viney right where the channel swings back to the Big M side of the lake, we were dragging tube baits in that tree line. I had a couple of nice keepers in owl creek on a spook. My dad and I night fished Saturday night and had some nice fish on Chompers tube baits fishing right there in the Big M/Viney area. Hey Bill, just a note off your other thread. I also appreciate the information you provide on here. It has really helped me to stick with a pattern a little longer or try something a little different and have some success with it. I have fish TR for about 15 years now. I live by Beaver lake but fish TR more. My partner and I fished the winter series and the AIA this year and really only had one good showing where we had 19lbs. We always seem to come in with a small limit or lotsa times get our rears handed to us and cant even catch keepers but we both love to fish TR love the information provided on this website. But we did manage to squeak into the AiA championship that will be on Stockton. Looking forward to that, Stockton is an awesome lake too. I have also met some really nice guys on this site and some of those tournaments, capt. Don, EP, and Techo, great guys, I've talked to Techo a couple of times and we've exchanged information about what we were doing. So again I appreciate the infomation provided on this site and helps me when I go and practice and try and find the fish for myself.
  16. Yeh, its a circus but it brings a lot of exposure to NW Ark. and Beaver Lake and money into the area. My 6 year old daughter loved going and getting the trading cards and autographs and free fishing pole. I used to take my boys when they were younger. It's a neat thing to do on Saturday afternoon for the younger kids. Most of the fisherman are great guys just trying to make a living, I respect that too. The few out on the water that are jerks, well thats what makes the world go round. I'd be surprised if they didn't come back to Rogers though. Even if they aren't the Title sponsor or main sponsor, they are the #1 seller of almost every product and sponsor that is affiliated with the FLW so, someone will get smart and figure that out.
  17. There are Hybrids on Beaver also, some pretty good sized ones, but I would bet it was a striper that made it over the Beaver Dam. I caught a pretty good one this past March while fishing in a tournament with my 14 year old son. They started blowing up around us, I threw a lucky craft jerkbait at em and one snapped me off right away ( drag too tight ). I picked up my spinning reel with 8lb test and a smoke grub on it and threw at em and the fight was on ( pic attached ). I've gotten into the schooling stripers before pretty good in bass tournaments and lots of times there are hybrids, spots, and LM mixed in with them.
  18. I've got some Mikey Jr's. They work very well also, no tuning, can use them right out of the package.
  19. that's a pretty boat Dave. I'm in a Maroon gold/silver Skeeter 200 Yamaha. I'll be back down on the Rock to fish the Big Bass Bash 5/16-17. It's my birthday that weekend, I figure i can fish all weekend, wife won't care....pfffft yeh right. Well I'll be there maybe i'll run into some of you guys, lake is gonna be busy busy.
  20. I fished a tournament with my son spring break weekend and it was raining and the stripers were schooling right at the point 8 marker. I threw at them and broke one of because my drag was set too tight. I picked up a grub and threw it by a tree and caught about a 30lbr on 8lb test took me about 15 minutes to get it in, the boy loved that. went back out next 4/18 weekend didnt see any.
  21. Techo, we stunk it up too. We had several fish also, just nothing over 15, we couldn't get bit on the jerk bait...funny we finished 2nd in a tournament on Beaver yesterday, all on jerkbait. I did a cat a huge walleye on spro jerkbait in the cover across from the mouth of the Kings River. The walleye was 24 inches. Nick and i did find several fish on beds, we worked some of them but didn't waste too much time, the ones we found were still real spooky. I was really surpised to find them in 55-57 degree water. Anyways, we'll be back at the Rock on Wednesday for 5 days of fishing.
  22. Thanks Eric
  23. Hey all, I cracked one of the ears on my prop and I'm needing to get another one asap. I am fish AiA Sunday be we can use my partners boat, but we will also be there Wed-Sun of next week so I have to get one before then There aren't any dealers here locally in Bentonville that have them in stock. Can you guys point me to some dealers in the Kimberling City/Table rock area that deal in yamaha motors/props. It's a 14 1/2 x 25P.....thanks in advance. SkeeterP
  24. Ah yeh, the rod's snagging a tree trick. Same thing happened to me, but I was out pre-fishing from my partners boat by myself one fall day and had about 5 rod's a combination of his and mine get pulled over the side. I was fishing Beaver Lake down in Indian Creek, so the water was clear, I could see the rod's about about 6 ft down, nobody was around, so I stripped down to nothing, dove down retrieved the rods, got dressed and continued pre-fishing for my tournament. No one else was around, so not so embarrasing, but a good story.
  25. Nitro and I will be fishing a local club tourney on Beaver Saturday, AiA on Sunday and then we have a group of 6 of us including my dad and brother-in-law staying at Mill Creek Resort Wednesday - Sunday. So, a great week of fishing coming up for us. Hopefully the weather warms and they move up for us next week while we are there. I think we are all going to fish the USA Bassin tourney the next Sunday. See you all Sunday Morning at AiA....
