  1. Way to go Mekayla! That's showing ol' Dad how it's done!
  2. The last few weeks have been terrible for us... and I can't speak for other species-- just Bass. The water is high-- I can never figure out Stockton when the water is up. Water temps have dropped dramatically lately-- temps down in the mid 50s now... which is an okay temp, but they have dropped quickly. ALOT of color in many of the areas I like to fish-- many areas of the lake look like coffee with cream, and some areas look like Jack Daniel's Whiskey (very strange color for lake water, indeed)... don't get me wrong, I like Jack Daniel's well enough-- but not to fish in. Believe it or not... the areas that we have done the best (best, but still not good by any means) in lately have been the ones with the coldest and dirtiest water... figure that one out!! If you are coming down to Stockton, I wish you luck. I hope you do better than we did the last couple of weeks... we're going down to Table Rock this weekend to try our luck instead. Whack'em
  3. Congrats on the 4.6 Dave! Nice fish.
  4. Way to go Jeremy!
  5. Sllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwww!
  6. Thanks Jimmy. I wish everybody who has a boat like yours was half as considerate as you are. Have fun out there! Whack'em
  7. I was wondering about your situation just the other day. That is great news! I had a feeling they would take good care of you. My faith in Shimano has been further reinforced after hearing that they did. Whack'em
  8. I don't know for certain, but I would say the shad spawn had to have been great as well... There were lots of bushes and trees to hide in for the little shad fry... and TR already had an amazing amount of shad in it to begin with.
  9. Hellllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! (remember?... from Seinfeld!)
  10. Way to go man! Kudos to your buddy for the idea. Thanks for sharing the technique.
  11. Absolutely! When we do, I will show you some of my GPS tricks that you were asking about.
  12. It doesn't matter what color my stickbaits are... they stay in a box in the back of my tackle storage compartment... Stickbaits... YUCK! Seriously though... I always thought they should look as close to the predominant baitfish (shad in TR) that lives in the lake you are fishing. Find a dying floater and examine him... and viola! Of course... I am a terrible stickbait fisherman, so you probably shouldn't listen to my advice. Whack'em
  13. I hope so too Champ... Sorry for the negativity... but I endured a lot of frustration on the Mill Creek Ramp this year. I don't mean to insult all COE workers... most of them are working hard and just doing what they are told to do. They'll get it fixed soon. Whack'em
  14. Hey T! I haven't been on here much lately... busy. I hope you are doing well. I appreciate the vote of confidence in me... I only wish I knew what I was talking about most of the time! I will agree with you about Bill though... most of the time he is spot-on. I hope both he and I are wrong this time though! Good luck out there! Whack'em
  15. Like I said... I hope I (as well as Bill) am wrong.
  16. I haven't been down to TR since the flood... but I know that the fishing is traditionally way better down there when conditions are relatively stable. Drastic changes in water level, water clarity, and temperature on TR in the Fall generally make things tough. Stockton was really getting good until this mess happened... cold, high, dirty water is making things a lot tougher up there lately. I hope I'm wrong, however, and the bass really come alive soon at both lakes. Whack'em
  17. Amazing... I want a job with the COE... Apparently you don't have to know how to do anything right or be even remotely good at your job to work for them. They have been promising tournament directors and such that they would pave that parking lot/ramp "...next month for sure" for over a year now... In the meantime, they poured gravel all over the ramp and parking lot. It sure was fun skidding, sliding around, and throwning rocks all over our boats and trucks all Summer. Then they finally decide to do it when the monsoon is coming in. Genuises! I wonder how long "after the lake is at pool" it will take them to get around to repaving it again. I'll bet it won't be open until well into next Summer, if that. Whack'em
  18. Cold, high water... YUCK! Fall is pretty much shot. It is really bad at Stockton too... fishing was getting REALLY GOOD up there until this happened. I don't mean to be negative but... CRAP! Whack'em
  19. I agree. Doesn't sound like they are catching too many big'uns with those buzzbaits to me if 12lbs won it. That is pretty much a couple of 3lbers and 3 barely keepers with a 5 fish limit. Don't take me wrong... I'm sure he's right about buzzbaits working right now... I was just saying that you have a chance to catch 12lbs right now on most anything you want to fish with. Whack'em
  20. If I were you, I wouldn't change a thing... Why would you change and do what they were doing? You said you were catching fish (and nice ones) right behind them with a jig right? It looks to me that you were the one who knew what you were doing... they should take note of how you were fishing instead! Whack'em
  21. +1
  22. Hey Donna, It's good to hear from you. I haven't been on the forum much lately. The other day I was wondering how you were doing... and praying for the best for you... Good luck in the CPA! Whack'em
  23. We went yesterday and did pretty well again. Pretty much the same pattern as before. We caught numbers somewhere in the 40s, with 10 keepers. Most of the keepers were 15-16 inchers, but there were a few pretty nice ones and one was a little over 3lbs. All were released. We caught all of our fish on crawdad imitation baits in darker colors, dragged slowly on the bottom. Visibility is pretty low right now... especially up in the Sac where we caught alot of our fish... only a foot or two. We did pretty well up in some pole timber areas. Alot of our fish seemed to be relating directly to wood. The sun was out all day. Hope this helps. Whack'em
  24. The bass fishing has been pretty good lately for us. Last weekend, my dad and I came up there and caught about 50 (give or take a few). Mostly LM, with just a few small Smallies mixed in. We caught them on main lake points near outside river channel bends (5-15 feet deep). We caught them on jigs and plastic worms. We caught fish on every spot we fished. Not alot of keeper sized fish-- we only had 5 or 6 that were keeper size, including one that went 5.49 lbs on my digital scale... all fished were released. Two weekends before that, I had a friend visiting from out of town and we fished Saturday and Sunday (afternoon and into the night both days). We caught about 35 on Saturday and close to 50 on Sunday. Basically same pattern as last weekend. I am going up tomorrow with a friend to fish the afternoon and into the evening. I will post my results. Hopefully I can give some good up-to-date info that will help. Hope this helps. Whack'em
