I throw a 3/8 oz. black.black blue, black red, black brown single spin with #5 colorado blade.Gold is an excellent choice with a black nickel blade a close second.Short arm baits work the best.It must have a sampo swivel.Six feet of water or less is preferred for this size bait.Throw close to the bank ,raise the rod to start the blade spinning, reel a few turns, slowly lower the rod, take up the slack,if it is heavey set the hook.I seldom use a straight retrieve.I make my baits with.040 wire and 5/0 owner hooks.Deeper water calls for heavier baits.A #11 pork frog in a dark color such as blue/black seems to entice the fish to hold on longer.Clear water lakes work best.I fish 11pm-5am on nights with out alot of moon. The darker the better.
