  1. 1. List your name, screen name is fine. ---- Wily 2. List how many will be in your boat. ---- 3 3. List what you may bring for food. ---- snack sticks 4. List what river/creek you prefer to float. ---- Shoal Creek 5. Pick you preferred date to float. ---- May 29. Saturday
  2. i'm in for the spring float if the date falls right. i got a tandem kayak over the winter. worked great last weekend at zan's. i put both boys up front and i sit in the back and do the paddling. much better than the gheenoe...i can load it easily on top of the 4 runner. we might try the tipton ford section this weekend if the weather holds...thanks
  3. chief -- this is a stupid question but what side of the bridge do you take out at gateway. and what about from there to reddings mill. what's that float like? looks like a lot of logs in the river from the road... thanks, are you guys doing a spring float?
  4. i've dreamt about the same thing...here's a website that has a few. http://www.resortsforsale.com/Missouri.htm
  5. Anybody, have any tips for avoiding long-term parking at branson airport? thanks
  6. i don't think it's very similar to TR, but i'm not a super-duper fisherman. grand to me is more of a crankbait/spinnerbait/jig lake in the spring... it's much shallower and not nearly as clear
  7. cool
  8. i agree with honey creek...something about early spring and honey creek.
  9. thanks
  10. how far up the river were you fishing?
  11. we went up roaring river about 400 yards past the waterfall looking for white bass. we found them, could see them all over the place, but catching them is a different story. the water is gin-clear, and they are skittish.
  12. sorry, but i never went...i hurt my elbow earlier that day. i thought it was ok, but i woke up about two in the morning and it was glued to my body. so, i stayed home and nursed it. feels better now though, so we might try it this weekend. you might check out what Ivan is saying on his website...his info is usually pretty good -- ah heck -- you got me curious. weird...nothing about white bass Ivan Martin - Ivan's Info Page - - Report as/of: 03/08/10 Hello Grand Lakers! It is time again for the Grand Lake Boat Show. The show is this weekend at the Civic Center in Grove. I will have a booth there, so come by and we'll talk some fishing. The best report I can give right now is the spoonbill snaggers are doing great. Personally, this isn't my thing, but a lot of you like this type of fishing. The crappie fishing is still good for some, but not all. You have to be on the right brush pile and most of the good spots are around boat docks. The black bass fishing is tough right now. We had a big tournament last weekend where almost half the field blanked. However, the fishing is going to explode in the next few days as the water warms. The catfishing is good using shad as bait. Sometimes as a guide it is good to be seen, while other times I just want to hide on the water. I can't hide anymore. I hope I didn't make a mistake in that I had my new Ranger wrapped and it looks pretty wild. This is not only a good way to advertise, but also to protect the finish on your boat. The down side is that you can't just blend in with the other boats any more. See you on the lake! Ivan Ivan Martin, Martin Guide Service Call 918-260-7743 if you want to book a Grand Lake guide trip.
  13. i guess i'm going in the morning....has anyone been? probably fish the first corner on the spring... if you've been or got any tips let me know...i'll have two little boys along. thanks
  14. I thought i saw on a post someplace that Trav was going to fish the tournament...how did he do?
  15. the boys and i will be there...thanks
  16. just got back from show me birds in baxter springs kansas. this is the second time i've been and i tell ya...it's a great place. the birds are healthy and fly fast price is relative...considering gas/motel/everything else if you go north. http://showmebirds.com/
  17. i think the topwater is best in May...the fish are probably up the river now...which is also good. i'd say best time is winter and spring for stripers. i've fished with 3 different guides...Chapko, Andreason, and joe fargas. i think Chapko will work harder for the fish than any of the three...good guy and good equipment. prairie creek area Andreason knows what he's doing, but equipment (rods/reels) are junk...and he is a little gruff. Fargas is a nice guy...with good equipment. fishes the dam area.

  20. neosho is a city in crisis...they've lost so many jobs over the past 10 years it is scary sunbeam, lazy boy, talbot wire, brass eagle, teledyne...the list just keeps going.
  21. you're right...i mis-spoke. thanks
  22. I'm a shutterbug too. this is the site that i follow for photography... http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/ i've got a D30, and a good macro lens, and a couple mediocre telephotos... you can pick-up a used D30 in good condition on ebay for $300 or so. A D10 is less. if you don't like ebay -- go to www.keh.com both are good cameras...and with canon the lens possibilities are almost endless. you can pick-up a new point and shoot for under $200 that will take great pictures...or step it up a notch and buy a G series from canon.
  23. it's the festivus for the rest of us...nice fish
  24. i use them...the best one i'd say is a crawdad medium diver...but i also like the RC series. i think they are the same baits as the LC knock-offs on the jann's netcraft site...albeit with hooks. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/crankbait-bodies/
  25. thanks, the rod is sold.
