  1. blame your county officials and your fellow county voters. CAFOs could be blocked via countywide zoning.
  2. have a mechanic look at your outboard. Your fuel lines may not be rated for use with ethanol. That might cause your lines to breakdown and the debris might be clogging your jets. But basically your carbs arent getting fuel. My guess is gummed up jets. Have your mechanic check the fuel lines and replace with ethanol approved lines. A motor that old may have non ethanol compliant fuel lines. Like my earlier post im thinking jets and bowl is gummed/clogged. sherwood, id bet if you changed out fuel lines and run some quickleen you might solve your problem.
  3. today at midnight the turbines stopped. Taney had Zero generation until around 6am,when the most rare sound of all Taneycomo in the past six plus months, the siren sounded.....Then it sounded again around 7am. The lake was wadable, saw hat lamps from gauntlet up to outlet even through the thick fog. Fished Rebar, Non stop action from 2am-5ish. Then we called it a day. Fish were attacking olive sculpins. maybe a dozen or so fisherman total, though i didnt go or look above outlet 2. Lots and lots of hits and hookups. Landed a 16inch bow, partner landed a 18. Most caught were stocker sized. All and All it was a blast. Fishing saturday day was ok, they liked wooleys during the day, and towards dusk they were hitting midge nymphs. Saw occasional fish surface but nothing you could probably key in on unless it was under the outlets. best drift areas were from #1 down to MDC ramp, we flies. Yall shoulda been there.....
  4. the fogging oil will just smoke a bit once you hook up the gas and prime the bulb. It might take a bit longer to fire up the cylinders but dont worry they are lubed with the fogging oil. Fogging oil serves to keep rust from forming in the cylinders and to provide lubrication of the pistons if they sit for a long time. Some people put pure oil (tw3) in lieu of fogging oil but that makes it harder to start in the spring if you ask me. If you fish over the winter you shouldnt have to change the lower unit oil since youchanged it in the fall. Changing the lower unit oil is easy and since you use it most in the summer thats when youd have a tendency to get water in the lower. If you changed the lower unit oil and it has lots of noticeable water you should seek your nearest mechanic and find the problem.
  5. yea change the lower unit oil. On your last trip to the lake disconnect the gas and run your motor outta gas. Get home and remove your spark plugs and shoot fogging oil into each piston. W/o your plugs in hit your key to start your motor basically enough to move the pistons one or two revoultions this ensures your fogging oil is dispersed in your motor. Put your plugs back in. Put your motor down so water doesnt collect in the hub/lower unit and then go crack a beer....
  6. lots folks at bassboatcentral.com swear by those nuclieyes
  7. ive been eyeing the star wars pole at bass pro... they outta make it glow green like a lilght saber and make sounds when you cast. If so id buy one.
  8. sounds like your carbs/jets/reeds are gummed up.
  9. No they have new lake maps and more HD maps then the 2007 version. If you head to the website they list the changes from 2008 vs 2007.
  10. dont use a drag chain. they are dangerous, one snag and you could be in trouble.
  11. have you used a marine rubbing compound to see if you can buff out your oxidized gelcoat? try this kit before you spend money painting. http://autogeek.net/fiberglass-restoration-system.html
  12. These folks have lots of options. Used them alot when i guided in Colorado https://www.cascadeoutfitters.com/index.cfm...86&framein=
  13. It is jedi voodoo.. the cost of the GPS units vary. $100+ They are an investment but they have nice features. You can mark underwater hazards, brushpiles, wrecks and more. It lists marinas, docks, ramps, many maps also include underwater tree fields/stumps. Another feature you can enter a course or waypoints. Forinstance if you run a section of a river that has a chanel mark the chanel and it would aid in nighttime navigation or help a newbie learn the chanel. If you want to hit a spot at night you can mark it and make your way to that mark.
  14. gps lake maps. Insert them into your handheld GPS or your boat's GPS and viola you have accurate maps of the lake's shore and depth.
  15. $149 includes all lakes in the South and Southeast. http://navionics.com/HMPremium08Catalog.asp
  16. navionics south 2008 has taneycomo. Its an awesome chip IMO. it has limited depth contours past fall creek upto the dam It shows little if any depth contours from the second island/koa up to the darn. I picked up 2008 at BassPro. The more popular Missouri lakes are High Def maps listing 1ft contours.
  17. well looking up some research, it seems crayfish/crawdads eat ZMs so if the population of crayfish is up maybe the explosion will kept at bay but its unlikely.
  18. Great, TR, then taney, then Bull Shoals, then the white river....Then up the norfork.....
  19. i can only imagine what it will look like when they run a managed water release. Im thinking opening day at roaring river... shoulder to shoulder. No parking etc etc..
  20. rps is right, gotta brine it with salt and molasses... skip the store bought boston butt and buy from a butcher.... better meat.
  21. not many problems at 907ft and above really.

    Chili Recipe's

rps was on the right track until i saw the beans. No chilli should have beans... fillers bad
  23. are they hooked up to the same battery? If so there is either a voltage drop or other interference.
  24. cold water from releases and a brown trout spawn is a good thing for the fishery. Now if only we could raise the DO during that time.
  25. Was reading about the problems up there. Unprecidented rains has put them on high alert. More rain is probably expected today. They might have to release 78000 yes 78000 cfs, anything over 12000 they said was unprecedented. All lake traffic has been shut down. http://www.khqa.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=166798 (has video) http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/MarkTwain/ http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stor...91?OpenDocument
