  1. That's all folks. Envelopes are in the mail and I'm out of stickers already. If you missed out and want some, click the link above in the initial post. I bet Phil will be glad to get you some stickers. Be sure and thank him as these are currently free.
  2. Okay folks. These things are going faster than free beer at a ballpark. I'm almost out already. I have 4 trout decals, 2 OAFs, and 1 bass. Next person to send me info gets preference. The person after that gets what's left. lol Seriously.....if you want one, give Phil a call at Lilley's Landing. I bet he can point you to someone or if you send him a self address & stamped envelope, he'll send you whatever you need. I was told he has plenty. BE SURE AND THANK HIM!!! :-)
  3. Already have. I figured you wanted one with a trout being a fly caster? :-) I can give you both or all 3. I have plenty!
  4. If you haven't seen or heard about the development and now the announcement of FREE stickers in the General Angling forum, see link below. FOR BEAVER LAKE LOCALS I'm posting this in the Beaver Lake Forum. If you're not in the Beaver Lake area, see link below. Phi Lilley (Ozark Angler's forum owner at Lilley's Landing in Branson, MO) has graciously offered to pay for the production of these stickers and widely distribute them to you for FREE! (again, many thanks Phil!!!) Since Phil gave me these stickers to distribute and since he bought them for us, I don't mind using a few stamps to help get these out to folks. :-) I have 3 stickers available to choose from. Send me a PM with the following if you want one. I need the following: - Name - Address Or if you want, I can meet you on the lake. I'll be on the water Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Probably the 412 launch Saturday and Prairie Creek area Sunday. Or the reverse, I don't know for sure yet. Here are the stickers.
  5. Thanks for he report! Good news.
  6. If you're in Arkansas and fish Beaver Lake area, look me up. Phil gave me a big stack of them to pass thiis morning to distribute. Shoot me a PM with address , etc. That or I can meet you on the lake.
  7. So I attended the launch this morning from the water and watched the pros leave the no wake zone and launch into the fog. After that, I proceeded to Long Creek but was stopped short at the 86 bridge due to the thick fog. So I fished the little cut on the right and waited for fog to lift. Once lifted, I went I back of Long Creek area. Water temps were all over the place. Never seen anything like that. Lake is so large, temps can vary as much as 5 degrees within miles!! I didn't find any bass, crappie or anything else that would bite my wide arsenal of baits. Granted I wasn't fishing like I was fishing for $100k either. I decided to try a crappie spot and as I got to the spot, there are 4 boats with 3 being spectators. KVD is fishing my spot!!! Hey Kevin! Hurry up, there's crappie over there!! Lol!! (I was thinking it, didn't say it). Mark Zona and James Overstreet were watching KVD so I did too. Bei g a bit star struck as I watch these guys in TV all the time. He left a d out of respect, I stayed out if the area so it could rest. I then went into Big Cedar cove for bass . Found some around 20-25ft. No bites. Went back south of Long Creek and passed Rick Clunn, Brandon Palanuik, and 2-3 others. Figured I was on the right track at this point. Found some fish in middle if cove around 20-23ft. Immediately went to jogging spoon that's been killing them on Beaver. Watched it on my graph and watched fish. Not a single bite!! Dead calm, murkey water, 53 degrees. Should have got a bite. I think it was a group of big crappie based on graph. .had a super fun day fishing same waters as guys I respect and watch on TV all the time. What a cool experience!! No fish for me today but going to try it again tomorrow and tomotrrow, I'm getting serious!!!
  8. No sir. I've seen shad balls that black out my graph. Many times. There's a ton of forage I'm Beaver. The shad kill was so thick this year, the Bass should be quite fat. The stripers are feeding on gizards mostly. They do eat often but no more than the little spotted bass I say. If it makes you feel any better, I'm doing my part to clean out the striper population. Best darn tasting seafood I can find short of Florida. I just finished tying baits for tomorrow. Now I have to dig out a boggle head and tie on a swim bait. Nuts.. .
  9. Those are good photos. Thanks for posting. I'm hitting the Long Creek area tomorrow. First time on the Rock. Hope I can catch a limit worth cleaning. Would be nice to cook some fresh ones. New water is fun. It's wide open and full of potential. Every spot looks good. Lol
  10. Tell IKE I said "hi" and welcome. Oh and.... NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
  11. He does. Been doing rather well last few years too.
  12. I'm going to have to catch up to you at some point on the water to see if "turbo man" is back with this new beast of a trolling motor. Are you going to go 36V system? Or stay 24?
  13. I'd say yes. If not, a local shop could.
  14. I run out of gas, troll back ON ONE BATTERY mind you and do I get a new trolling motor???????? Pshhhh!!!!! Whatev. Lucky sucker.
  15. Which is why I want to be a marshal. Great experience. I'm jealous.
  16. Same for me. I used to fish slow but trolling for groceries has ruined me. If I know there are fish around and they are not biting, I'll troll. I gotta get my slow down going this weekend though. I just gotta see if I can catch a few keepers on the same lake the pros are fishing on. Its a pride thing now. Lol
  17. Depending on rai fall, chances are ok. Cold front may shut them down. Better be prepared to use a small 1/2oz jogging spoon. If you find fish on the graph, drop to them and work the jig slowly just below the school. Small twitches of the wrist. No hookset jerks.
  18. meaning better or worse for second day?
  19. I agree Bill. Slow down indeed. They can't run all over and if they do, they will continue to see small fish. Those are the active biters.
  20. (Speaking of pros at weigh in) Bunch of winey girls. "I can't catch any keepers. Lake is full of small fish.......waaaaah!" Lol I know it can be tough but come on guys, you know darn well there are big bass in that lake and plenty of them. You just have to grind it out and figure out a pattern. A-Mart just proved that with an 8 pounder.
  21. Are you guys watching Twitter feeds or Bass website for up to date info?
  22. No problem. Being a person with a lot of questions myself.............I can relate. Boat dreaming is a fun and stressful event. I'll be glad when I get my new one next year. To have a new outboard and turn the key and it starts within 1-2 seconds cold and purrs like a tiny kitten...........ah. One can dream.
  23. Sweet! Good idea. Thanks for the update too. I hope they lay into the ROck really good and land some big sacks. The Ozarks need some good representation. :-)
  24. Lucky.... What does it take to be a marshal? I'd like to do that one day.
