I've heard the new side scan on the birds are very impressive. I hope they increased their traditional sonar quality as well. If not, Garmin, Ray Marine, and Lowrance will bury them. Side and down scan is nice but pan optics and regular sonar improvements are even better.

Hoping it passes over and dumps water elsewhere.

Yeah but Cox seemed to have done well shallow. I'm surprised the weather was so nice yesterday. That has to have helped a ton.

Never fails. When they come, unseasonal conditions occur. This one seems to be extremely this year. From what I saw Monday afternoon, everyone is bank beating. Which was unwise. Too much is changing from debris, water level, etc. Food sources will move and change conditions. My assumption: Ledges and deeper structure is less affected by rising water. Fishing open off shore structure would be less effected. It will take a pro who is great at fishing structure like Mark Rose to catch them consistently on that pattern. You can bet he will be fishing on Sunday if he's in the tournament.

Might need to look into a simple fix for locking the unit down.

I've never heard of any electronics that float much less would just plug back in and function without problems. Usually need to dry out. WAY impressive!! Awesome that you turned around to see if it was floating. I would have assumed it was gone to the bottom.

Every time I go out. Which has been 3 times since Christmas. And before that same thing. I catch more wakes from other boaters than I do fish since about spring last year. Have had some good trips but too many "why do I bother" trips for the last year.

They make an LED kit that installs into the rub rail. Blue Water bow light kit or something like that. Pretty elaborate solution and what all the "cool kids" have on their hi-dollar rigs. Lol!

Oh I know. And a moon. It was great. Lucky joker....

I figured last night was good. I wanted to go but couldnt. I will be night fishing this year. Avoiding crowds. I like my quiet.

Oh I know. I just couldn't help but smile as I read the report. Might as well have gotten mad at catching good fish and broke your pole over your knee and gone home. Just for good measure. LOL! I can understand the frustration. I don't keep mine on the lake but if I did.....man I'd get spoiled so fast!!

I keep my hot foot pedal flat and I hold onto the wheel for dear life to keep me seated in the boat at all times. The other leg is on it's own. "Every appendage for itself" theory. As Jolicious stated to me years ago......."the best way to go through rough water is get through it quickly" LOL!

Thanks for posting. I'd love to read some of these surveys. I bet they are entertaining on a comical level. Especially surveys from someone named "Coy" or Bubba". Lol

CXX is mostly what I use and what I thought you were talking about. I had 6lb line on a spinning rod and lost a 30lb+ striper on because I pulled the hooks after setting the drag too tight. Not joking. Two treble hooks straightened. CXX is WAY stronger than its rating. I've pulled my boat with it trying to pull a crappie jig straight and retrieve it.

This is bad. This is very very bad........ Keep it together now. Breathe! We will get through this somehow.

I'd like to try to attend this one. Way too many things going on this year though. We shall see. I also like that there is no entry fee. I'm not going to pad your pockets. Lol! Would be for fun only for me.

One of the reasons I haven't been out much. Lost interest, busy, and spent time towards a new hobby. I'll be back at it this spring and summer though.

Ton? No. Some? Yes. Worth the price you'll pay for those units? Probably not. I have side scan and only the big ones show up if you know what you're looking at. The smaller ones still show but it's more like helping you associate the fish ta area and those fish tend to move around during a lot.

So wrong. I hope their boat sinks.
