  1. Is there a tournament out of Prairie Creek this Friday Sept 13th?
  2. They'll hit 'til around 8:00-8:30 around Rambo. J-doc was being nice and not mentioning me Spook - not buzz bait.
  3. My lil girl
  4. If we can get a true shad kill this fall / winter; and after the bass are used to foraging when they feel like it instead of when opportunities present themselves - look out for some big time fun in a couple months...
  5. hhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!
  6. Well, there went teh top water bite in Blackburn for a few days lol!!!! thank you very much for the information and the work y'all are doing, I would think anyone that's fished Beaver for 5 or more years can attest to how well it's being managed.
  7. I didn't go either, was the night of lil bit's recital
  8. We went up to Molder and finished in North Clifty. i was hoping for an early morning top water bite up there, and was wrong as usual lol!
  9. I was glad to see the pics, bud!!
  10. Mr. Scott: I'm glad yoy and Jason had fun!! We had a fun day, but not good by tournament standarda. we caught 20 or so, but only 3 kept (son caught all 3 keepers), so we turned them back
  11. I'm trying to "think" about where I want to fish, what to use, etc. (As Jason can attest) - I'm the classic "Oh heck - that looks good" fella, but I'd like to better understand movements / seasons / etc. With that in mind - I've been tyring to figure out the post-spawn movements. I just grabbed a quick shot of Mont Ne as a reference. In the picture, I assumed that the red dot on the left is a spawning flat. Then, I took a guess at different stages or stops the bass would make on their way back out to deeper water. I know that post-spawn fishing is a blast for a couple weeks every year, and I would like (with y'alls help) to better plan where and why. PS - Jason: Don't call the medics - I haven't fallen and hit me head Thanks again guys, Joe
  12. Exciting will be if I can get Bubbs one during tournament hours on Saturday
  13. I was really surprised, actually - it was what Ibcall "Hickory Green" - clean, but a little stain to it. we ran actoss a weird mudline about 40 feet wide righy before we turned into Piney. looked like that sandbar on yhe rigjt was washing away a little
  14. Just had a couple hours this evening. Put in at hickory. ran to Piney (right cove). caught several keeper spots, and a couple dink blacks. all on weightless senko wacky rig. went to little hickory to finish the evening. lots of shad moving, but couldn't get a top water bite. manage to get a prett little 2.75 black flipping a bush. Nothing exciting, just wanted to share.
  15. Recevied a note froma bddy this morning and thought I'd share: "Ron Moore wanted me to let you all know about a meeting the AGFC is having on Beaver Lake kentucky bass length limits. This meeting will be held at the Ozarks Electric building on Hwy 16 west at 7 pm Thursday May 23. Try to make it if you can." Hope everyone has a great day, Joe

    Storms?

Amen, sir. Sifting through rubble hoping to find children still breathing. I can't fathom that burden.

  18. Table Rock up by the dam
  19. Sunday afternoon, I was in the back of a cove just across the water from Moonshine Beach. A small group of pontoon boats descends upon the litttle cove (8-10 of them all came in radio-braring, people screaming, uppder deck dancing - the works). Half of the pontoon boats came in at full speed and dang near hit another bass boat that was about halfway as deep into the cove as I. 10-15 minutes later, after all the waves had settled, the guy and his partner in the bass boat calmly tied everything down, got on life jackets, then proceeded to literally do a couple of figure-8's around and between most of the boats in the cove. I will not lie - I smiled on the inside as the people started fussing around acting like the sky was falling (even though half of them had darn near over run that bass boat on the way in). When I fired up to leave, lots of folks started grabbing for things again, but I idled through the mess waving and smiling
  20. Deos trolling mess up 2 storkes very much, or is there something that can be done in preparation that helps the motor? If I idle my boat for long, she'll start coughing and such until I allow her to "clear her throat" for a few hundred yards...
  21. Well, I personally didn't do buptkis this weekend :-) Had a great time as always. I'm new to posting pictures, but I'll try to add on here (in order): The Rod for the first 100 entrants (this year's design is sweet! - Handle first, then full rod pic second) The only little lady that was even close enough for me to think about keeping this weeknd (a pretty 17" gal) But, after thinking about it for a bout a minute, I left her in my bubble bath, and put her back right where I got here :-) All in all, it was a great time as usual - I just couldn't get a big girl (as usual)!! Saturday and Sunday were spent around Indian Point (I think the two branches are Indian and Little Indian?) Saturday - Had fun catching them on top the first couple of hours (I prefer the Paycheck Lures "Repo Man") - then switched to flpping what brush I could find - pulled a couple off of a bed (just for practice - they were put right back on the beds - all small males). Caught 3 dozen in all. Sunday - The top water action started fast and heavy again, but I only got one to hit in the first 90 minutes of action - they would hammer the bait, but not eat it. I switched sizes, colors, you-name-it, and didn't have any luck. Around 9:30 or so, as I was making my way down a shoreline stretch of about 150 yards - I looked over and notice what appeared to be a 21"-23" lady still on the bed. I cruised by her, and (I thought I was being so smart) beched the boat - to fish her out of the back of the boat!!!! When I finally gave up on her, I noticed that it was 1:00 p.m.!!! Talk about intense - I literally never would have dreamed it had been more than 10 minutes or so. After that, I just messed around until the day was finished. All in all - it was a GREAT weekend!
  22. Always a great time - I'll be entering next year's tournament - on December 1st this year again LOL!!
  23. Good deal!
  24. Good luck to you too, brother! I don't know where I'll be (J-Doc will attest that I read a map about, well, NEVER!)
  25. I've wanted to try a Jika rig!!
