It's crazy spring/winter for sure. I was out cleaning gutters this am before the rains, and noticed that my neighbor has not one, but two lilac bushes in full purple flower bloom. Did we lose a month on the calendar?
Hi FW. It is a major rainfall predicted. I was night fishing below trd in 04 when 5 inches of rain fell in about a 4 hr period. Tr lake came up 4 feet overnight and 4 flood gates were open by dawn. 4 gates is not a major issue as long as they can keep taney below 718. If beaver opens up that compounds the problem. We need rain and hopefully it comes at a moderate rate.
It has been 20 plus years since I have seen one. It was in a farm pond near Lebanon. I see lots of snappers on the upper current, but no alligator snappers. SOH might be interested in having it, but then again, it might be a little shady having it in your possesion. Don't know.
Sounds as if the white river system will once again be hammered with massive amounts of rainfall. It would sure be nice if they were wrong on their forecast. The weather map showed areas from camden county west to the state line, and south to the state line including arkansas. All of this area is in a flood watch starting tomorrow.
I agree with Wayne, think you guys are jumping the gun because of the nice weather. Most of your catches from previous years were into april a week or so.
Years ago before taney required a trout stamp to fish it's waters. I had 3 buddies that would never buy the trout stamp even with my insisting that someday one of us might catch a record. I always bought mine.
As far as I know, everything is all tackle and farm ponds included. No separation of stream or lake or private property. No fly rod, no line class, catch it on a french fry and you got it.
With little to no wind this morning, I took the fly rod to the crappie dock. I fished a 1/100th oz maribo jig with no indicator. I caught 8 keepers in 8 to 10 foot of water fishing beside the brush. The fish were agressive and wanted the jig on the move. Saw carp and spoonbill on the surface this morning. A good sign that the fish are increasing their activity.
