Like I've said before, Our bigs are horrible and Haith needs to recruit frontcourt, not just back court. This team is his... not Anderson's. Brown, Clarkson, and Ross have been wasted in my opinion.
My experiences when wanting to enjoy a river or stream while fishing is that 12 to 15 miles is not feaseable. Just sayin'. I prefer a max of six miles a day. You gonna be camping on the river after that 12/15 mile float?
Well... maybe this is a sad time for some of you guys. Not many replies for a SW Missouri fixture. I'm betting that out of the thousands of lurkers on this forum he guided more than one of you.
Phil... did you know him at all?
He sure didn't Jerry. But Jabari Brown did all he could do. Kid's a stud. Mizzou has NO frontline help and they might not make the tourney because of it. Haith better recruit some bigs and soon... or he'll be gone.
I use Chomper stand ups when fishing ozark streams. They don't have as flat a bottom as the ones you've got pictured and I prefer the single wire weedguard.
What kinda fishing you wanna do? What lakes are you planning on fishing? Do you river fish at all? Do you have wife and kids that might want a day of fun on the lake? Many factors to consider...
I'm sure some or most of you S.W. Missouri guys know of his passing a few weeks back. Our outdoor editor of the KC Star up here was good friends with him as well as his son Jeff. Always enjoyed Brent's write ups of J.D. whether it be of his Devils Dive Resort or his Kings River trips. Kinda surprised nothing's been posted here on OAF.
Anybody here know or ever fish with the man?
Just saw a story on NBC news with Brian Williams. Their main foodsource, the milkweed plant, is vanishing. I haven't seen Monarchs in numbers flying thru here for at least four to five years now. Absolutely none the last two years. Anybody had the same thing going on?
Big M's not too much further up the lake but not nearly as easy to get to. Isn't the Shell Knob bridge the next closest corp ramp down lake? Viney IS a very nice area.
Oh... and the poor guys that own Ball & Prier... they'll never survive with the traffic zooming thru Golden! At least the geologists that visit the rock museum will help keep it runnin'.
Jacking with the already paltry funds that affect the outdoor life of those who enjoy it or depend on it is just plain... (Phil... insert word here).
I agree with Smalliebigs on jets above Two Rivers on the Current and NO jets on the JF. Posted that on another thread. This whole meeting thing is a joke. I am proud to be a Missouri boy and proud of our MDC for what they've done for us in the past. But I'm not proud of them for not standing up for the Current and Jacks Fork. There's money being handled under the table for the BS going on here. But of course... we can only rant on a forum... right?
Double Bingo! And the lurkers believe you bud, just play with'em concerning lakes. Small water should be left to those who have done their time on said water.
Watch the youtube video Chief posted then read over the comments that have been posted concerning this thread. I'm not saying the comments from this thread are crazy, just thinkin' to myself how times have changed.
Hey Andy, I've floated many times frome Hale to TB,s. Like Ham said, the average size of the smallmouth ain't very impressive but there's lots of fish. I've always wondered why the MDC hasn't designated that stretch a trophy area. There is one spot I know of that has usually produced a 15 or 16 incher for me.
