  1. The Cards have grit, that's for sure. I'm rootin' for 'em. However... I kinda' liked the outcomes of games 6 & 7 back in '85! Thx DD!
  2. He's grinning even bigger than when Sierra was flirtin' with him on Shoal!
  3. One can only hope...

FLY into a resort area... Camcun, Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta, or Cabo and it's all good. Just don't rent a car and go gally-banting all over the countryside. All- Inclusives are great deals down there and you could plan a couple of days of salt-water fishing to boot.

Fly to Cabo then book a trip with a local outfitter for a "real" biggun' on the ocean. Prices are better than they used to be. Just gotta do your homework.
  6. No way that's Cricket... that's Michael Jackson... "L.L. BEAN, WAS MY GIRL".
  7. Zebco 33. Take yer kids and let them brag on this forum. What a revolution.
  8. I'd live down there in a heartbeat. Truman's so much more fertile than LOZ below it. Don't get me wrong, LOZ's got some great fishing, but if I had to pick between the two, I'd pick Truman for the summer crappie. I'm actually looking into the Pomme area for retirement. Would LOVE to be down around the Mt. Home, Eminence, Winona area though. Pomme keeps us closer to the kiddos.
  9. Suck it. We're in first again. It's the NFL where parity rules. We suck on the road. Next 3 of 4 are there. Any bets? I wouldn't myself. Hope they surprise the coon dog dung outta' me.
  10. "This thread is starting to get old and its starting to waste valuable bandwidth." If it bothers ya Dano, just do it... don't wait for approval (or Phil.)
  11. IMO... you ARE naive you... ah, never mind. A huge venue in the city creates, as you know almighty Ness, dollars towards the city coffers. "Management/Security" sees the same as "Undercover Agents" do from a private landowner along an Ozark stream, whether it's a crowd of 18,000 or a crowd of 2,000. Big arena concerts as you know Ness (you really come off as the concert goer') have city cops everywhere as well. They mostly turn their heads. Whereas the small guy on his piece of property gets harrassed because he's an easy target. So... did some local citizens complain? Probably. Did the local law enforcement see an easy mark? darn straight.Government hasn't run amok? Are you kidding me? I'm thinking you'd prosecute the fans who stormed the field after the Mizzou/Oklahoma game. You're probably a darn Jayhawk anyway. Go away Ness (I know you won't) Get back in Al's canoe, suck up some more, sit on his lap in the back seat, let him teach you how to cast and tell fairytales, and don't forget to always post... "Good point Al". If you can't do that... post a fishin' report you no fishi... ah... never mind.
  12. Jeez... long live Camp Zoe. Beautiful darn place. If the feds keep control, how do ya figure they'll screw it up? Or, who will gain control of the property if the feds don't want it? And what happens next? That's some nice property on Sinking Creek and close to the mouth of that and the Current.
  13. United States Navy 1978 thru 1984 USS Kawishiwi AO-146... Boatswain USS Niagara Falls AFS-3... Supply Helped protect our country during "relative" peacetime. God help us (even with something as simple as stream rights). Oh... and Ness.
  14. I'm with ya Cricket... I'm too darn lazy (and Dumb) to give a dung.
  15. Ness, aka.."SOUP NAZI". This ain't Evan speaking tonight. Like you said, this is a "fishing forum". Simply put, comment on fishing related stuff if the rest of the crap bothers you. Please............ we've never heard of A SINGLE TRIP YOU'VE TAKEN! I've screwed up here and I know it. Hope you've taken the time to take them boys fishin', and if you have... tell us about it! KC
  16. Some gal was driving up here north of the river and clobbered one at the I-29/I35 split. MDC said it was a wild mountain lion. There's lots of deer and turkey in that area, as well as little kids playing in the backyards of apartment complexes. Didn't hear about the Raytown cat though. Most times they've claimed ( the MDC ) that the cats have followed the Missouri River from the northwest.
  17. Heard from a little bird that once you're... "in the country" you actually had a prefernce for "Caught 20 Spots and after 20 shots I went and let'em go" by Al Agnew.
  18. They're talking about the election. You can't see that? Shut'er down... this is gettin' way too political. Hardy-Har-Har!
  19. Are Pickerel edible Al? Haven't done any homework on them. Are they full of bones?
  20. SHUT THE HELL UP JD!... we're really impressed with your political view. Do you feed yourself first, or your livestock?
  21. Phil and Babs have taken care of us Wrench. As long as we're members of this forum you're health insured...
  22. To be serious, in warm weather when the water temps are down I wade fish with golf shoes useing the old metal spikes. You can't use them on courses any more so I thought they'd really dig into pea gravel and small river rock beds. They are amazing! Mud and big flat rock areas don't work so much with them. For mud, I buy the smallest snowshoes I can find (Cabela's up here in K.C.). Then I cover them with Handi-Wrap, turning it around inside out, then bring it up to just above my ankle and wrapping it with clear packing tape. I've never sunk more than 3/4 of an inch. The walnut related post was interesting, because I have used silicone to attach walnut shell pieces to my boot waders to be able to wade the slick, flat rock areas. Works pretty darn good, except I've gotta change a few husks out for every trip that has a streambed such as that. Which is why when I squirrel hunt I only shoot the one's carrying a walnut back to it's nest.
  23. I've encountered many a friendly agent on our rivers and lakes, but when I've questioned them on this dilemma, they promptly hand my liscense back and say "Have a good Day."
  24. Taylor Martinez or bust... all we gotta do is contain him, which is difficult I know. Texas did it... and who'd they lose to saturday?
  25. A big hump finally hurdled. Win at Nebraska and the sky is the limit. Gonna be tough but I'm glad they've gotta win over Oklahoma to boost their confidence. GO TIGERS! Blaine Gabbert is gonna be an NFL QB in my mind...
