  1. misses the venomous pursuer, only to thrust it's way towards the surface and pierce the hull of the head elder's watercraft. Hiawatha, in shame for his bad aim, took in a huge gulp of water and...
  2. My dad was with me a few years back on a Jacks Fork overnighter when I caught a 4 pound smallmouth. He at the end of the trip got a three pound plus. Dad introduced me to river fishing in the late 60's on the Big Sugar and the Elk. He retired down in Sun City, Az. and on our trip I had to keep telling him... "No pop, those are just rocks on the bottom". We were fishing soft plastics and bottom bouncing with stand-up jigheads. I was so proud that day that he finally caught some quality fish, but probably not as proud as he is for guiding me into the thing I love the most!
  3. Jacks Fork since I was 17 years old. 50 years old now and still love that river. Especially before Memorial and after Labor Day of course. Two of my 4lb. smallmouth have come out of it. Only other 4 pounder came out of the upper North Fork. I'd guess I've missed the Jacks Fork maybe 6 or 7 times over the last 33 years. They're all beautiful in our great Show-Me-State my fellow anglers!
  4. White roadrunner fishing for crappie in a strip pit around Truman.
  5. I've fished the Jacks Fork "almost" every year since I was 17. I'm 50 now. Up until the last 7 years or so, I had never been checked. Now it seems I get checked by the MDC about 75% of the time I'm there, which is fine by me. Just my experience's on one river. Guess I should post my places I fish on the other thread! KC
  6. the fish were staged in 20' of water, while his fish spear was only 7' long, so..........
  7. Ain't gonna miss him myself. The two years he rushed for over 1,700 yards were the product of a great offensive line as far as I'm concerned. He is (or maybe was) a back who needed a nice hole opened up in front of him, thus enabling him to get those 10 to 20 yard gains carrying SOME linebackers, and MOST defensive backs the extra yards he gained. L.J. never had his head on straight. He is a "ME FIRST" person. I'm really not blaming him for his problems... the guy needs professional help with some mental issues. If he had been anything close to being a stand-up guy during his tenure here in K.C., such as helping out more in the community and being a positive role model instead of spitting on or slapping women, he could have left a really positive mark for himself here. End the end, I hope that number one... I hope he can find some way to get some stability in his life. Number two... I believe he'll find the right situation with another club, if not for just a year or two. AND number three... I sure as heck don't like the way Pioli and Haley treat their players. I do not see the Chiefs improving with these two guys at the helm. Hope I'm wrong... KC
  8. What the hell............. ? These threads are going a bit sideways lately. Let's talk fishing guys!
  9. Ollie, just talked to Chief. I'll be there. Be at the in-laws in Cassville on saturday for a belated Thanksgiving. My wife's got monday off so I'll be there on sunday. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
  10. No boot's Ness. Everything's good. Really... you should get together with us. PM me for info if you'd like to do some smallmouth or trout fishing with us. I'm you're ride here in KC. I believe we'll all have a good time!
  11. Ness, I would like to take you on a trip with Chief, Buzz, and I. I myself think I would really enjoy it. Are you game for a spring or summer float next year? It's a privledge to know someone whom looks at everything the right way, but can be so crass in his very next statement.
  12. Laker's mount staying there?
  13. Hmmmm... from what I remember reading about former posts concerning the Taney parking lot, are you Taney guys spelling MOMO correctly?
  14. Mo-Mo was reported up around Louisiana, Mo. back in the 70's. Around Hannibal. Not too many years after the bigfoot picture came out. It was real alright... I've still got the costume.!
  15. I seem to remember reading something about smallmouth being in the Fox River way up in extreme N.E. Missouri... anyone heard or know of this?
  16. untangle their lines before darkness hit but then...
  17. Great video by the way Sam. My 10 pounder wore me out... can't imagine a 25!
  18. Three of us took a guide trip last friday the 23rd. Cold, windy, with bands of heavy mist all day. Fishing was tough... one fish in the boat, a 10 pounder. We'd booked for a 1/2 day trip but the guide let us stay out until 1:30. Another group of five were in the other boat out that day. They were scheduled for a 1/2 day also but while on the water they made it a full-day trip. They had a fish per person near quittin' time and just as it looked they had made the wrong decision, the bite took off during the last 45 minutes they were out. Biggest was 26 pounds. They limited out also... great for them, not so for us. I'm gonna try again though! KC
  19. Great pics GD! Where did you start the trip at and where did you take out?
  20. Here (rather be there).
  21. that would be it brownieman... ah, the memories!
  22. I didn't even know that there were bonefish in Hawaii. Like SIO3 said, the beaches there go deep very quickly. You can't walk out a long ways like you can in the caribbean. I need to look again, but I don't recall seeing any charter trips targeting bonefish there. Guess there might be though....
  23. I'm sure you guys remember the Crazy Crawler. Caught a lot of bass on the small lakes and ponds I used to fish in the mid to late 70's. Nothing like topwater.
  24. Great post denjac. I'm excited about "making" it to Texas Roadhouse tonight. I remember what got me excited in my teens. Don't think I'll mention it here though...
