Saltwater or freshwater. They are all precious memories we as fisherman will never forget! Here's mine... a Short-Nosed Spearfish caught off the Kona coast on the Big Island. Cheapest and best fishing in all of Hawaii. Caught him on a walk-the-dog I carved and painted myself. Told the Captain to run 30 knots.

I go against the grain of you Al. I would hate to fish the way you do. I love taking my time on a river and fishing with soft plastics exclusively with a spinning rod (5'6" to 6'). Glad to hear your "creeks" hold fish up to 18" or more. We're so lucky to hear from you. Come to think about it... you should write smallmouth articles for Missouri Game and Fish. Ever heard of it?

I'm glad they knocked that cry baby Rivers out though. Kudo's to Chase Daniel too. I don't see much of a difference between him and Alex Smith. In fact, Chase throws the ball downfield better than Alex IMO. Heck... we can beat the Patriots and Seahawks but lose to the Titans and Raiders? Win one of the latter and we're in.

Forgot to say that having the committee fill the New Years games instead of conference's being locked into them makes for some great bowl games come Jan. 1st.

Guess I missed the play against the Piggie's you guys are referring to. Anyway, I think the committee got it right for the playoffs. The only thing that put egg on their faces was to have TCU ranked 3rd and FSU 4th just five days ago. That was tough for them to explain when they dropped TCU to 6th. Everybody knew that if Baylor beat KSU they would probably jump TCU based on their win over them. But why put them in 3rd over FSU then drop them three spots after their 55-3 win over Iowa St.? They could've beat 'em 75-3 but gave ISU mercy. Patterson was classy in his interview today. Hope Briles is too... he was bent outta' shape BEFORE the KSU game yesterday since Baylor was ranked behind TCU. Ohio St. is playing great. I mean... they destroyed a very good Wisconsin team at the right time the way this process works. The Big 12 needs to schedule better out of conference games, have two divisions (add two or really four more teams) so they can have a conference championship, and lose their sorry motto. Oh! A quick side thought... if the Big 12 ever wants to be the SEC, drop KU football and add not four but five teams. Vanderbilt would beat KU 70% of the time. Feel bad for UAB's football program. KU football is the biggest money drain in college football. Manzino, Gill, and especially Charlie W. made off with the loot!

Next year they do go to an 8 team playoff while still deciding on going to a permanent 16 team scenario beginning 2016. I think sticking with the 8 team format would be best.

Mauk had a hangnail on his throwing hand, the o-line all played with a turkey hangover, and Sasser had a zit. By golly... we still won the game! Our rivalry with the Jayhawks may be on hold for now, but based on comments by you Hog fans here, we just might actually have a new rivalry brewing with arKANSAS.

My thoughts are with you also Jim. I really enjoyed meeting you at Phil's place that weekend and we'll try and hook up for a trip this spring. Having surgery the 17th on the back so I should be fine by spring. KC

Heck... we won't make the tourney again. Worst first game loss ever in Mizzou history. But the SEC conference relies on two teams only when it comes to BB. Kentucky and Florida. Let's hope we beat A&M tonight Mizzou fans...

KU football has pretty much sucked for years. They had a couple of good seasons under Glen Mason and Mangino, but they became horrible under the new hires for both. Being a Mizzou fan, I remember when we hit rock bottom under Bob Stull. Thank goodness Larry Smith was hired (remember Corby Jones?) and Pinkel came along...
