  1. Guess a jock strap would work too.
  2. I had the kiddos bust up in front of me yesterday twice. They hit the fin although it took em 1-2-3-4 hits to get it right. Like Bill said there were 1000's of em. They would not hit anything else I tried. Spoon, blade, rattle trap. There fussy eaters!
  3. GpS is nice in the thick fog, but for idle only! Some people just dont get it. You were smart hanging next to the bank and out of harms way, (maybe).
  4. And where was I? Oh I had to work. Sounds like its picking up.
  5. When, where, how much?
  6. Since we are talking cattle, this is turning into Bull!
  7. Indian Point to Cow creek. Point 1 to point 7. Silver Dollar City to Kimberling City. Dam area to midlake.
  8. No it was just my turn to sing. Oh the song was my girl in case you want to get that tune stuck in your head.
  9. Most of the areas on the lake are opened to hunting, except the Birch branch area. Just kidding, thats where I hunt.
  10. Still had the redfin bite until the fog blew away, then went to the jig. They are real tight to cover . If you can get it close to there bush home they will smack it. On another note when I am not fishing I am singing with the Temptations. I am the only Temptation that wears a Stratos Boat hat. Before you ask, Yah I got moves !!
  11. Fished from Baxter to Cambell point today. Had a nice bite on the redfin with the help of the fog. The bite lasted until 11am. Had the boat in 5- 10 ft throwing the fin up in the bushes. I bet the would have hit a husky jerk or a blade, but I just happened to be throwing the fin and wasnt putting it down. Very few short fish, but no biguns either.
  12. Have a safe trip back. You guys are coming back to very nice weather. The water temps have dropped 15 degrees since you have been gone. The bite is getting good.
  13. Look at my post under conservation issuses. It is a letter to me from Roy Blunt. Some good stats in there concerning this issue.
  14. September 9, 2010 Mr. Dennis Boothe Joplin, MO 64804-4059 Dear Dennis: Thank again you for contacting me regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) possible ban on lead ammunition and fishing tackles. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns. On August 27, 2010, the EPA rejected a petition sent by several environmental advocacy groups seeking to ban lead in ammunition and fishing tackle. The coalition of conservation grouts sent this petition claiming that the use of lead in ammo and fishing tackle is poisoning the nation's lakes, ponds and forests and asking the EPA to ban the "manufacture, processing and distribution" of lead shot bullets and fishing. The EPA's decision to reject the petition is due to their lack of jurisdiction on the matter. On April 21, 2010, I introduced H. Res. 1282. This resolution would protect recreational fishing and boating in the development of President Obama's policy designed to preserve the environment. This legislation would also promote recreational fishing and protect access to public water for fishing and boating. Currently, this measure is under consideration in the House Committees on Natural Resources and Transportation and Infrastructure. As you know, anglers play a huge role in the nation's conservation efforts and our nation's economy. The 60 million anglers in the United States generate $45 billion in retail sales and add $125 billion to the economy. There are also an estimated one million jobs created due to our country's anglers. Southwest Missouri is home to some of the best and most beautiful conservation areas in the country and I certainly understand the importance of keeping these areas accessible to the anglers that make this possible. Again, thank you for contacting me. I look forward to hearing from you in the future. Sincere regards, Roy Blunt Member of Congress
  15. It looks like to me that they couldnt get em on state charges so they got em on federal charges. More than one way to skin a cat.
  16. SEVEN RIPLEY COUNTY MEN PLEAD GUILTY TO CHARGES OF CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE THE FEDERAL LACEY ACT BY USING DOGS & ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES TO HUNT DEER ST. LOUIS Mo -- The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that seven men from Doniphan and the surrounding area have entered guilty pleas, and were each ordered to pay fines from $500 to $1500 involving a conspiracy to illegally hunt deer in the Mark Twain National Forest with the aid of dogs and all-terrain vehicles. According to court documents, it was part of the conspiracy that the defendants illegally hunted deer in the Mark Twain National Forest by utilizing dogs and all-terrain vehicles to assist with the hunt. They released some dogs wearing radio-location transmitters on their dog collars to scare the deer and cause them to run from the dogs. The dogs chased the deer to keep them running, which assisted the hunters in locating them. They were able to track the location of the dogs (and thus the location of the deer) by using radio telemetry, which picked up radio transmissions attached to the dog collars. They also used marine-band radios to evade law-enforcement officers by transmitting the locations of Missouri Conservation Agents during a hunt with dogs and the location of co-defendants, dogs, and deer. Pleading Friday, Sept. 3, in Cape Girardeau: Mitchell G. Pearson, 23, Fairdealing, MO; Neil Turner, 27, Naylor, MO; Kevin Turner, 31, Doniphan, MO; Jackie Elliott, 56, Doniphan, MO; Nathan Foulks, 45, Doniphan, MO; and Nicholas S. Keck, 29, Doniphan, MO. Frank S. Moman, 30, Doniphan, MO, entered his plea today in Cape Girardeau. Each defendant pleaded guilty to conspiracy to illegally hunt deer in the Mark Twain National Forest by utilizing dogs to assist with the hunt between Nov. 14, 2008, and Nov. 25, 2008, all in violation of 16 U.S.C. §§ 3372(a)(1) and 3373(d)(2). Henry L. Hudson, 57, Doniphan, MO, faces the same charges and is awaiting trial. This charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and/or fines up to $100,000. This case was investigated by the Missouri Department of Conservation and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The charges set forth in an information are merely accusations, and defendant Hudson is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. #### Joe Jerek News Services Coordinator

Well crap ! Thought he told me it was the end of October. Guess I better double check the dates on the Homer Sloan.
  19. Talked to Donna yesterday and James had just gotten out of surgery. Everything had went well. They thought they got all the cancer . He was still in recovery when we spoke and havent gotten any updates since. My prayers are with both of them and hope for a speedy recovery. I think I will be in charge of his physical therapy, put a fishing rod in his hand and one and two and one and two, and one and two. Gotta get him toughened back up for the Homer Sloan Oct. 2nd.
  20. I have never encountered quicksand, but have been in bogs in northern Minnisota. Very creepy stuff. You can jump up and down and the ground moves for yards around you. They do lose a duck hunter or two up there evey year in the bogs.
  21. Those fish have been going for almost 2 months now. There has to be millions of them to withstand the pressure. I found my own private stock this weekend. Out of the mouth of Big Indian hanging to the right side. 30ft to 60ft. Hint: just past a shallow point on the outside of standing timber.
  22. I always thought it was legal to carry a sidearm anywhere as long as it wasnt concealed. On another note Razor Dobbs caries a sidearm with him everywhere he bow hunts.
  23. Nice job! And letting her swim was a very noble thing to do. Thanks.
