  1. Talked to Shimono again, there tech is supposed to call me back. Not holding my breath.
  2. I have 3 shimono symetre less than 6 months old and after fishing for 2 weeks in the rain I have a problem. When the get wet they start to reel hard and somtimes lock up for a second. When they dry out they work perfect. I called Shimono and they said they have not had a problem like that, hmmm. Did some searching and some say that the nylon bushing on the worm gear swells when wet and that causes the problem. Water shouldnt be able to get in there anyway should it? Any quick fixes out there? Anybody else have this problem? love the reels and hate to get rid of them, but I cant put up with that. Oh buy the way I have a a Shimono Sahara spinning reel and it doesnt do it. Works fine in the rain.
  3. I guess the bad guys dont like you !
  4. My boat does not have a recessed trolling motor control either. They make an after market product called Pro Control that looks like it would work well and easy to install. They gave one away last week at the Joe bass tournament, first time I had heard of them.
  5. For one reason they taste better! The other reason is because of the intense pressure put on the bass. No other fish gets as much pressure as these guys and if it were"nt for catch and release they would be gone. I dont think an apology from Bill is needed, its just a friendly debate, and if you got your feelings hurt, thats what happens in a debate. I think most of it was you just trying to push some buttons rather than debating your position on eating bass or not. The law says you can eat them so get after it, just dont post it on here as this is a pro catch and release site and you will get your feelings hurt again. Have I ever ate a bass, you bet, in my youth I had to prove I could bring home the bacon. Then my ponds I fished in kansas and Missouri started to be unproductive and catch and release was just coming into play and I saw the light.
  6. Thanks Doctaj! Do you think the recessed trolling motor foot controls help? I have also heard that back braces work but in the long run weaken the stomach muscles.
  7. Thats encouraging. I was in there last Friday and Sat. early, nothing. Think the bite is better in the afternoon?
  8. You had a better weekend than I. Its was tough for me. Nice fish!
  9. I forgot, I think Bill has a personal masseuse and a table at his place,hmmmmm .
  10. After about 4 -5 hours of fishing my back, ( between my shoulder blades) kills me. Feels like needeles sticking me. If I lay down and hang off the deck it fixes it for a while. Only trouble with that is one time another boater saw me lay down and thought I was croaking and came to me rescue. lol. What do you guys do for back fatigue while on the water?
  11. I will be checking them out Friday, Sat, Sun. Let you know how I did, hopefully friday.
  12. Ugg, for me its the toughest time of the year. Not much help I know.
  13. I will continue to catch and release bass, so the catch and fry guys will have somthing to eat! The lake wouldnt be what it is today if it wern"t for catch and release. Who wants to eat a wormy old bass anyway, I would rather have a tasty walleye or crappie anyday. This thread is getting old lets move on.
  14. My son and I fished the Joe Bass yesterday and finished 5th with 14.50 . 20 pounds won it. We had mixed bag with ky and smallies. Also got a check from Charger Boats for being the highest finishing charger boat which was the entry fees, $130. Also got another check for 3rd biggest bass in the side pot, a 4 pound smallie. Lots of fish caught, son threw the stick and I threw the grub. Had one fish at 7:00 am and didnt get another keeper until noon. Also saw a deer swimming in the middle of the lake heading straight for point 5, he had a long cold swim. Good day for us with lots of fish being caught.
  15. My grandson yesterday on the rock.
  16. That is an under statement!! Had a handful of shorts Thurs. Talked to a guide at the end of his day and they had four bites and 4 -15 in KY. It was cruel.
  17. Had a great time with tough conditions. If they wind woulda blew no telling how we would have done. The stick way outpreformed the grub. But the grub caught the money fish. Had a great time. Fishing with friends and for fun, doesnt get any better.
  18. I too had a rough morning, only two short smallies from 7 - noon. Afternoon was a differant story, but I will let Bill tell about it.
  19. Me too, I am filledwith chagrin.
  20. I was fishing in the Indians, not too far from where you were. Were you hiding from the wind? Gotta stay in it for the better bite. Also stay with the bait that they are hitting, like the stick and dont jump from one pole to the other. Having faith in your bait is half the battle. Stick and grub is all I threw today. The stick outpreformed it today and the only bite I got on the grub was Mr. big, but I knew they would hit it and stayed with it.
  21. Although it doesnt look like it in the picture it went over 5 pounds. Just thought it was a beatiful bass. Bill, notice the grub in his mouth. That was the only grub fish I had today Fished for about 3 hours from noon til 3.. all the other fish all spots came off the stick.
  22. I guess mine isnt embarrassing as I didnt get caught, but could have been awful. Around 20 years ago A buddy and I were night fishing at Table Rock. Around 4:00 in the morning the fog was socked in and the call of nature hit me. Buddy let me out on the bank and I wandered up the bank to find the perfect spot. Did my duty and went back to fishing. When the sun came up and the fog burned off we happened to be fishing down the same bank. I looked up and was horrified to see a big pile of toilet paper in a well manacured lawn of a half a million dollar home!! We often wondered what the owner thought.
  23. Joe Bass is coming out of Ahoys Sunday at 6:30. Might get interesting.
  24. Also a factor that Table rock didnt have a winter draw down unless they are consider 915 the draw down.
