  1. I love to see your clients wearing their Life Jackets. It is important to consider safety while on the water. A good swimmer or not.....a life jacket is a very important piece of equipment to take fishing. Its great to see smiles, lifejackets, and football bellied kentuckies.
  2. Freshwater shrimp in Table Rock? Can somebody educate me. I haven't heard of such a thing.... but my brotherinlaw and an i had a great day while the wifes swam. Had 5 keeps and about the same amount of shorts today at 1pm on a football jig and dropshot in 15-25 fow. The mid-day was awesome today. Only fished one spot......maybe it was the spot.. Fish are holding on banks that are saturated with tubers and waveruners.
  3. Thats a great Meanmouth in the pic. I bet it pulled like a freight train.
  4. A lot of the "oltimers" have forgoten more than a biologist will ever know about what it takes to catch fish. I'd take the advise from an ol' timer anyday! Nothing against bioligist's. I am friends with many a few of them. They are all great guys.....but don't overlook the knowledge of an ol'timer.
  5. Mill Creek is the nearest public ramp
  6. I agree with T4FISH.......don't let the dirty water of the main lake area to bother you, it sure hasn't bothered the fish. They are there for the taking on basically all of the standard late spring tactics, jig, shaky, grub (not sure why due to water color) but its working, and lots of spinner bait reports. Definately lots of fish for the taking. Early and late are best.
  7. Tounaments have been going on during the spawn for decades and the fish have seemed to turn lemons into lemonade out of the deal.......so i imagine they will pull through during this tournament as well. For every 1 fish that is caught off of a bed and relocated, there are tons that are overlooked in deeper water. I am not a bed fishermen due to the lack of patience watching a stubern bass.
  8. Thanks Bill. I am under warranty until 2015 so I need to make sure I go to a certified Yamaha Tech. I want to correct myself. The price I posted was for Sport Boats, Hydro Tech was similar in price as well. I'll give Ulrich a call to see what they can do. Seems a little spendy for a service appointment but I guess it is worth it!
  9. I spoke to hydro Tech today and they quoted $395 plus parts for a 100hr service. They said after it is all said and done i am looking at about a 700 dollar bill. This seems a little bit too steep. I live in Branson and would like to take it closer than that if at all possible. Does anybody have a recommendation to a certified yamaha mechanic at a decent price? Thanks,
  10. Don't worry about boat traffic in Mid May. If you want to keep it simple bring a football jig, a watermelon shaky head, and a spook. That should have you covered for any part of the lake this time of year. I am sure the A Rig will also be a key player for the post spawn bass as well.
  11. If it were me and I was fishing a pro am circuit and didn't want to travel very far, I'd fish the central pro-am. The Central Pro Am will be held on Table Rock only this year. This will cut down drastically on your travel expenses. Not to mention, you have an oppourtunity to draw some of the best fishermen in the region. The BFL is also a good circuit to fish. They travel to other lakes across the ozarks as well, and as a co angler you have an opportunity to take home a new ranger if you will an entry fee paid Regional Tournament. Good Luck
  12. Dad and I fished above bridgeport below flat creek for 3 keepers on Friday. We fought an ol trot liner that kept thinking we were cutting his lines......crazy ol man....i'm to lazy to run my own lines, better yet his. The wind was so bad that it was hard to feel what was going on. We were fishing MDC brushpiles. Holding lots of fish but seriously couldn't feel our bait. At the end of the day, and burying the hatchet with Catfish Charlie, we had a great day and ended up going home laughin at the ol man.
  13. how much are you paying for these warts and and how many do you want? Shoot me a PM!
  14. Champ....I did cash a check with you by the way. It was a central pro am event so i was only allowed to weigh 3 keepers. I had like Nine that day. This was the most keepers that I have ever caught in a pro Am. Advise for the Co-Anglers out there: No matter who you draw good or bad, it is super important to go into the event with low expectations. Always look for an opportunity to learn. If you don't learn a way of how to catch fish, rember how not to catch fish. I fished the central open last week as well. I drew a guy from Japan on day one and he didn't speak English. But I could tell he was really nice guy.....always smiling when him or I got a bite or caught a fish. Day two I drew Jamie Fralick......absolute pleasure to fish with. I was being very timid with my casting and he insisted that i chunk my jig or crank right up there with him. None the less it didn't help me out a whole lot. I never ask how much i need to give a boater, i base it off of how far we have traveled that day. Lastly, Your "pro" doesn't have to cater to your needs or be a fishing stud. Don't blame the boater in the case that you don't catch fish. I use to be really bad about this. In the year that i won a new Ranger 198VX, I saw 5 keeper bass boated by my pro's throughout the entire BFL regular season.
  15. When I gave them my credit cart # today I was boat 17.....I hope they pull a several boats, I can't think of a better way to spend my Saturday. Giving a donation to Denny, Champ, nd Convoy of Hope. I have one 8 rods rigged up to throw within the first 10 minutes....hopefully I will have them so confusedthey will end up bitting one of them out of frustration. The feller that took my info today said we are in for a treat with the free food and the "gift bag". I hope champ is boat 16....we'll just follow him around all day!
  16. http://www.rockin4joplin.com/ I just signed up for this tournament today. Proceeds go to Convoy of Hope. I bet they have some pretty cool give aways.
  17. I believe several were stocked in around Cricket Creek as well as the upper kings river. These are the Arkansas portions of the white river. I know last year that several walleye were caught from cricket creek upstream.
  18. I think it is a term that people say when they dont' wan't you to figure it out. I've been catching them on gravel roll off point channel swing backbone humps near pole timber. Its pretty isolated right now : )
  19. Hands down, Table Rock would be my pick over bull shoals. It is much more "fisherman friendly" especially for your first trip. If you want to scratch your head and catch hammer handles go to Bull, if you want to get your arm broke come to the Rock and throw a grub. Don't worry about water levels, by that time BS should be back down if it is anything like the spring following 2008 flooding. Table Rock is already back down. John Sappington is a great guide this time of year as well.
  20. The ramp is now open at Old Hwy 86. Good luck out there, have fun, and be safe.
  21. When I was up there a week ago, it looked like opening day of trout season at Roaring River. I heard a few days ago that the whites were knocking the paint of of the trusty slider. But as the pothole goes, its feast or famine......Don't go there with your hopes to high!
  22. Dredging bottom bouncing off rocks and laydows. 8-10 FOW
  23. I'd bait my line with a purple and chartruse crank (Just Kidding). But seriously, i did catch 4 flatheads in an hour with a deep crank yesterday evening. I've been hearing a ton of good reports on flatheads right now.
  24. I spend a lot of time to Table Rock Lake fishing. On average atleast 2 to 3 times per week. Most years I am lucky to catch 1 or 2 flatheads on rod and reel while bass fishing. Yesterday evening I ended up with 4 flatheads on a deep diving crankbait. This was in the longcreek arm near Gages. Ended up with 3 keeper bass with not many shorts. One on a 10" worm, One on a DD crank, One on a Texas Rig Craw at 11:30 PM.
