  1. " anyone want some foam boxes? I dont want them. Had them made for me, but only going to stay with the plastic ones. Some of the magnets are not flush, but if thats not a problem then they could work out for you. They can be fixed if you want to take the time. I think I have 40 of them. Like to ship all at together. Thanks... theres no cost, just want to clear some room " If you are giving them away - I'll take all of them. You can email me direct.
  2. Do you have a tentative list of guests you will be having each month ? Sounds very cool. What do I need to do to hear it ? Must I have an IPod ? I'm a techno dummy - Brian
  3. I like DeWitt super light and clear boxes for dries... been using them for years. Mostly my beefy meatly heavy stuff goes into Morell foam boxes because they float when you drop them at night and you can just leave them open your car to dry out your flies. I also use the 'Tach It magnetic boxes for lots of midges and scuds and worms and stuff. They sink like a rock if you drop them though. I tried the fancy english Wheatley window boxes. They are much better quality than any asian import bx made by leaps and bounds. They too will sink like a rock if you drop one though. I've been wanting to try those newer thin C&F boxes... but the cost always talks me out of it. I have one of the micro slit midge boxes I bought at the catalog outlet for $5.00 still going strong. good fishing - Brian
  4. I missed a good event... dagnabbit
  5. I went to Springfield to get my glasses fixed. Spent most of my day at Sams. As Phil said.. there is plenty of weekend left. Sorry I missed it. Brian
  6. Regardless of who's coming - I am going to be there with a few FLY REELS for sale. You guys know I love reels..... Current and vintage stuff. Most reels with line on them. Maybe some really good deals to be had, some one time only deals. Face to face deals. If you love fly reels.. put another $39 in your pocket. Brian
  7. So did you sell that Sal-Trout ? I would like it. PM me. Brian
  8. How do I click this for SAVE or keep or Favorites or the like ??? ??? Brian
  9. Missouri / Arkansas Fly Fisher

  10. My opinion is not good on F/L reels. I would buy something with a better (and longer) track record. Brian
  11. My advice - spend the extra money and get the Simms Classic chest waders. Mine are going on 10 years and have only been sent back to Simms for new feet. They are worth every penny. Brian
  12. I would have gone with a used Billy Pate reel. Although it would have been right about up there at your top spending amount.. you could always sell it for exactly what you got in it. I bought an all black Pate Bonefish in Direct Drive for $210 off the eBay and sold it for $230 a year later. The drag on those Pate reels is second to none. BE CAREFUL on your reel to never get sand in the one way bearing. Brian
  13. Hey. Nice reel. Clean it up a little and see what it says on it. Might be a little Bulldog Pflueger 60 nickle worth $100! Or first - catch a fish on it and then clean it up. :-) Brian
  14. I'll be there if they are running 2 units. I could bring some edibles... What's left off the menu Leonard ? Brian
  15. Good looking reel. Check the bottom of the box. The last 2 digits are the ' born on ' date.
  16. I may have goofed up.... 50 MW per unit is the norm for 1 unit. Max'd out at 55 MW the total load can be as high as 220 MW. On Thursday - they had a 50 MW load with 2 units running... Its difficult to know exactly what they are doing sometimes.
  17. Should mean 2 units running... usually, 50+ MW is 2 units.. Very wadeable... and quite good. Check my ' How to fish with 2 units ' article.
  18. I called Leonard and apoligized for my remarks. End of story on that front.
  19. sweet old video... good to see it again
  20. I would like to be a part of this.
  21. I'm not putting the fly down at all. I've fished it for years - from like 1999 to now. I just think the tail get short-strikes out the wazoo with trout. It's just another fly and you added a different tail on it. a Joe from Wapsi will tell you...
  22. Do you have an especially beat up ATH reel ? I'm breaking down now I think, Tim. They are just too smooth.
  23. Sorry Leonard.. but a pullety pull to the tail of that pattern is in order my friend. By the why - do you mention the originator of the fly pattern at all ?
  24. my only qualm - change the lights in the store so is doesnt hurt the material.
