  1. Looks great. I replace the hooks on most all baits so the poor hooks on the Little George have not bothered me. That is however a great looking bait
  2. Great fish. They’re a lot greener than the ones I’m catching in the mud. 🤪
  3. The ones I caught a couple days ago were mean and I’m talking mean. One of those 2.5 pound K’s totally kicked my tail.
  4. Wow, thanks Buddy.
  5. Most will struggle with your water color analogy 😁😁 When I was a kid a neighbor lady that lived in a total hollow out in the woods about a mile from us made it all the time. When I got off the bus I would pick up her mail from the box and walk it down to her. You could smell it 100 yards from her house. She had several goats and 3 maybe 4 hives. She would make me tea with sassafras goat milk and honey. She would serve it in a cup with a saucer and tell me to pour a little in the saucer so I wouldn’t burn my lips Always had either some kind of cookie or white cake with butter icing. Have no idea what ever happened to her. She was really a wonderful person, but was totally alone. My mom would go and visit her and she did have an old pickup to go to town. Wow was I way off topic, got a bit sentimental on the tea deal.
  6. That is a much nicer set of green fish. Thanks for the report. Got one similar from a buddy. They really want the olive/ green cranker with the orange hat and shoes.
  7. That’s just a crazy number. Congrats for sure. Had a buddy up there yesterday he had 17 keepers. Caught them all under 5’ on a wart. Just about the same color wart I caught them on the White. 57 is a Yummy number of catches. Thanks for the great report.
  8. Steve, I figured you might know more than me. I have no idea why they took down the launch under repair sign and moved the rocks blocking the ramp. They have done Zero work on it as far as I can tell. Deputy noticed it too and said he had not seen any repair work going on. One day last fall I picked up 2 bags of hard liquor bottles at and around the ramp. You wonder how many broken bottles are out there Mostly Fireball Cinnamon Shots. And, Steve you are correct. Perfect launch angle at any lake level. To durn bad.
  9. There will be enough guys there to park trucks and it’s a short walk. Launching there at times is a total nightmare without help. At times your truck will 5’ from shore just to get the boat off the trailer. If you’re by yourself your going to get wet most times. Nice pavilion and we will have launch help.
  10. They moved the concrete blocks that had been blocking the middle of the ramp. With water this high I don’t think there would be a problem, but I’m not saying. I’ve driven down there twice to look in the last 10 days and I’m just a little apprehensive to try it with a 21’ boat. The ramp was broken off on the left side and you had to stay way right or you would drop a wheel off, prior to them blocking it I don’t think it’s fixed, but it is unblocked Off topic is I also spoke with a sheriff deputy that was sitting down there and he said they are trying to patrol it at least once a day. Said he would not leave his personal truck there unattended. Said some real bad types are hanging around down there. Due to really only a very few picnic tables still available and the ramp and parking lot in tough shape he said he hopes they put a gate across it. I hope not, would be very sad. Wife and I walked down there a lot last Fall and we were aware of some very unsavory types that seem to hang around. No problems but at times especially on weekends it gave you the willies. Hope this helps.
  11. Ya I missed it on Thrift. Didn’t think he would be there with all the FFS guys even though it’s his home lake. I figured little Jones would be okay as he is a great bed guy and also a FFS guy.
  12. Gates is a cool as the other side of the pillow. Going to be hard to replace Honor, Hodge and Kobe. They all could come back but bet they’re done. 5 th. Year senior with the Covid year. Kind of like what Arkansas did year before last in football, oldest team in the country. I don’t think they will come back. Honor might.
  13. New in 2022. Sportsman Elite Quad Pro 4 bank charger. Charges any boat battery system including lithium. $300.00 OBO. Sells new for $670.00 417-332-7016 or message me.
  14. That’s a great day, thanks for the report. I could not get them to eat a blade yesterday. I threw it on every spot I caught them on a crank yesterday. Just would not eat it for me.
  15. Alabama is better that Missouri. They’re also better than just about everyone in the country. Great on defense and sooo friggin loooong Miller is the best player in the country. Probably not the smartest but the best BB player.
  16. As far as the Hogs you simple cannot and I mean cannot allow Nick to shoot the ball 20-TWENTY times. Black only had 8 shots and was next. Smith was totally out of control and Musselman should have put a stop to it. 20 off balance covered up shots and he was very lucky to make 6. The minute Nick Smith walks off that campus the Razorbacks are a better team. Guy is a total ball hog, and I don’t mean that in a good way. Slapping the camera out of the Rivals reporters hand by the assistant coach was an extremely bad look at the end of the game. There should be charges. Followed Arkansas for many years and frankly I don’t like the manner of either the coach or the players. When they win it’s with pure athleticism and when they Lose they melt down. They can beat anyone in the country one day a week or lose to an NAIA school 6 days a week. Totally undisciplined and the foxes are in charge of the hen house. Rant over and it’s a shame I had to make it.
  17. I retired to soon. Should have moved to Texas😀
  18. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
  19. You have chosen wisely Grass Hopper. Man it’s terrible out there today.
  20. What do you all know about em? They are catching K’s on Norman with them and the bait is 1/2 the size of the fish. Looked online and got STICKER SHOCK in a hurry. Geeeez prices $25.00 to SEVEN HUNDRED BIGGINS. Have any of you all ever fished one on TR? Looks to be about time to try it if you have extremely deep pockets.
  21. Is it even possible to be politically correct if your over 50?😎😎😜😜
  22. Had a friend down there last week also. He said he will never go back, with his boat No accommodations, pee pour road system, no decent restaurants, and he scratched his new Kitty Kat to pieces. They did however catch a few fish. Biggest was a 7 pounder and second was a 6 pounder. They fished 5 days and caught 20 fish. I would not have lasted the 5 days.
  23. I caught my Ned fish in Viney 15ft. Last week son Steven and I caught a bunch on the steeper stuff from Cedar Creek to Owl Creek on Chunk and some in flatter gravel on points jig and Ned Yesterday the fish were not in the solid mud, but just were you had a couple of feet of visibility. I fished that mud hard up around the Kings to San Succi and just lucked into a couple of dinks. Always amazes me how that muddy water out of the Kings migrates up stream a mile or two. I also fished some transition with the chunk and caught a few right where it started to clear. Here is the deal. Again last week prior to the mud Steven and I caught a few on a jig, pretty shallow ( under 15’ on gravel points) These locations yesterday had color and wind on them. First point I tried with the boat in 20’ I threw across the top, bait landing in probably 5’ of water. 2 cranks and it just flat stopped. Nice 16” K. Preceded to catch a limit of really quality K’s the next 2 dozen casts on that point. Wow! Didn’t need the son’s Chemical Engineering Degree to start fishing every flat point I could find in that water color zone. Trouble is there are only 4 or 5 more in that area, caught at least one on all of them. Just turned it into a milk run and I think I had about 30 fish with 1/2 keeps. 3# LM was the best of the day but some really thumper K’s I believe below the Kings on those big flat points on the left going down stream to Campbell Point you could have done the same. Water color was the key, strained not solid mud. I cranked but a Hard Head or Biffle Bug would be a Killer. Good Luck
  24. I had a mental lapse.
  25. Thought this might be the last nice day for a while so got on the water at 7 out of SK. Total Mud to San Succi, it starts clearing there and that is where the bite starts. Had a great day today and really hated to quit. Kind of made a milk run on gravel banks and I think you could have just went back and back over the same stuff. RK Crawler and a custom painted Wart. Caught one on a Ned just to say I did but it was a crank bait bite today. Surface temps to 52 late in the day and most all fish under 8’ Flat points and flatter gravel stuff. Did not get bit as well on the steeper chunk. Nothing huge but lots ok Keeper size fish and they were mean. This wasn’t a soft bite, they ate the bait. Good Luck
