  1. I have a 7'0 Medium BP Crankin Stick that I am trying to sell. I am only asking $25 for the rod and $15 to ship. So it would be a $40 investment. Let me know! Dave

  8. I was in BP this afternoon, and was told by one of the fishing guys that the RC line may not be around much longer. Evidently, Clunn and Morris had a falling out. Any truth to these rumors?

  18. Made it down for a nice four day weekend and enjoyed the great weather. Began Saturday morning with ice on the deck of the boat and in my guides. Struggled early on but finally got it going on the football jig. Caught maybe 3-4 but no legal fish. Also, got a few on a grub and drop shot. First day only netted maybe 8-10 fish total. Sunday was much better. Got the drop shot going and caught fish consistently in the 25-40 foot range on a Watermelon Candy Chomper Drop shot worm. Still no keepers. Also, managed 4-5 fish on a Wart once the wind began to blow. Monday was a drop shot day. Got a nice healthy smallie on a drop shot next to Lunker Landing and then a healthy spot in Basin Hallow. Started throwing the Wart around Campbell Point and hit a nice largemouth on a windy point. So finally got 3 keepers and a bunch of short fish (12-14 inches) Today was a short morning, but I managed 6-8 on the drop shot with one solid 16" spot that pulled like a tank. Overall, it was a great trip! I really enjoyed learning more through trial and error with the drop shot. Anxious to get back at it next Spring and Summer! Thinking it is getting close to dusting off the jerkbaits! I hope my little report helps someone, just save a few for me.
  19. I have been with Bill on two occasions and he is a Class Act!!! Loved it and learned a ton. What were you guys doing? Jigs? Warts? I will be down in maybe a week for about 4 days. Just want to start organizing my gear. dave
  20. I would read through the forum over the last year and see what the common presentations are. It will take time but you will learn how to fish the lake too. I would start with football jigs from 1/2 to 3/4 oz, crayfish colored wiggle warts, 4-5 inch smoke and green pumpkin grubs, finesse worms, favorite top water. Good luck and welcome to the lake Dave
  21. I have had great luck with watermelon with red flake and green pumpkin, and watermelon candy
  22. I think you just hit on another huge key to the Rock. Hire one of those fabulous guides. They are a wealth of practical fishing knowledge.
  23. How much are you guys saving by building your own jigs? How do they compare with Jewel?
  24. I agree with techno....your in the club now, but the key is to research. I look at all the current information and then I will also go back to last year and the year before. There is quite an archive of fishing information. The key for me has always been RESEARCH!!! Greg, I wish you all the best, and keep at it!
  25. Wow! This is maybe the most fishing friendly site I know of. I only get down 3-4 times a year, but you all have always been helpful, and I have consistantly caught fish listening and reading your posts. Nothing but knowledge here! 3inonegod, I am sorry you feel this way....BUT READ! It is all here! These are wonderful men and women, and we all share a passion that we must share with old and young alike!
