  1. Hey buddy, I hear you on the paperwork, always was the worst part of any job I had. As far as prepared - I kept a few of the hybrids I caught a couple of days ago, and I may go get some redworms next week and see if I can add some bluegill to the stash. And IMO, bluegill are better eating than hybrids. That being said, I can eat hybrids, white bass, and stripers (they all taste about the same), and enjoy them.
  2. Here comes some more.
  3. Having nothing better to do, took a ride down to the dam to see what was going on. All the floodgates are open. There's a park/picnic area that runs along the road that goes over the dam. The gates to the park are closed, but there is a place to park at one of the entrances with room for three vehicles. I parked there and took a rod with me down to the bank. There was a fellow fishing there, tossing a swimbait and he had a 15 lb. striper on a stringer. I threw a Keitech around for about 10 casts, but the wind was blowing about 20 MPH and it was cold, I like to fish, but not that much. However if anyone is looking for bank access, there's probably about a mile of it in that area. If the entrance to the park is full or closed, there are places nearby where you can park off the side of the road and walk a little ways to fish. There's obviously some stripers in the area, they aren't loners, and I bet a walleye or two, with some smallies and spots. There's some bank access to the river below the dam even with the high water.
  4. Those concrete picnic tables are fish magnets, I think instead of sinking brush piles, MDC should be sinking concrete picnic tables. 😁
  5. Saw this on another site: Coronavirus Pandemic, day 17.If anyone is still out there, I’m alive but struggling. Food is running low. Down to only 459 days worth. My hands are super sanitized and my butt is super clean. Down to 1599 rounds of ammo (dropped 1 round down the heat vent while doing daily inventory). Power still on, but for how long? Missing human interaction but I have my dogs.. for now.. (I'm soaking their food in BBQ sauce in an attempt to marinate them from the inside in case I have to eat them) . I fear dark days ahead. News is all bad. Neighbors have attempted to leap from windows to their death, (or near death... most have single story homes so they are badly bruised). Blew through most Netflix series so may have to rewatch some again..Basic Survival is a definite challenge. I vow to persevere to the end, I am a survivor! Please, if there is life out there, communicate with me to help preserve my sanity..*Copy and pasted from another fellow survivor
  6. Gas futures for April closed at 67 cents per today. I can't believe it will hold that low for long, but if it does, we could see retail gas down to the $1.20 to $1.30 range.
  7. If the parks are closed, can we still fish the picnic tables?
  8. WTG! Next time out on TR, I'll be swimming a Keitech for sure.
  9. For some people feeding the kids is not tops on their priority list, so people in the community have to help out.
  10. If you're sitting around the house and are looking for something to do, this site has literally thousands of old PC games to download. I have loaded a few in the past, they are compatible with Windows 10 and are a fraction of the cost of what they were when new. https://www.old-games.com/
  11. I wonder if fishing is considered "outdoor exercise"? The order in San Francisco bans any acivites that aren't essential: no drinking at bars, no haircuts by barbers and no dinner parties. Restaurants can operate only for takeout or delivery. Outdoor exercise is allowed, but gyms are closed.
  12. Yessir, Guppy heads were what I was using too. Had a few Keitechs torn up also. Fished the same area I caught the hybrids in the day before and caught largemouth on the Keitechs, also one 15" crappie, darn Keitechs are just a good bait.
  13. Yep, I got satisfaction from a job well done.
  14. Dock, I'm getting darn tired of saying "Nice Fish" and "Congrats" to you. 😄 But, I'll say it again - Nice fish and congrats!
  15. Some great fish there Sprint!
  16. I might give myself a project and contact the group and try one more time to see if we can go n early Nov. Another thing too, is that they started running water on 12/1 this winter, and if they lakes stay high it makes me wonder if that will get repeated again this year. Rifle season is also in Nov., which is something else that gets in the way for the guys that deer hunt.
  17. Way to go guys!
  18. I could go for early Nov. myself, I have run it by the group before, but it gets shot down.
  19. Caught an 11 lb. hybrid today in one of the Bella Vista lakes. Caught 20 total, it was crazy, never have caught them like this. They were on a windy bank in 2-4 FOW. 11 lber was a personal best. Caught an 8 and several in the 5-6 lb. range. 3.3 Keitechs on 1/4 oz heads, spinning tackle. They are strong fish.
  20. Had to do a lot of remote work when I was working, installing software and doing training. Same here, would've rather have gone to the customer location, and probably 50% of my job involved travel, I was either working out of the house or flying somewhere. Got real tired of flying and airports and all that goes with that stuff, so now I am retired. 😀 Don't miss work a bit.
  21. Well the weather guessers predicted it will rain all day here today, we got about a 1/4 inch and it is out of here. I'm getting stuff ready right now to hit a local lake that fished really well for me yesterday. I'd invite you to go along, but I'm a long ways away.

  23. COE just posted this, it's a little unclear to me, but looks like they are revoking all special event permits so we'd have to cancel based on this info: All USACE sponsored events, tournaments, volunteer activities and public meetings are cancelled until further notice.• Special event or activity permits will not be issued; those permits that have already been granted will be considered for revocation based on the Center for Disease Control’s guidelines.• Visitor centers and lake offices are closed to the public until further notice.• Campground reservations and fees must be made in advance at www.recreation.gov. 24. Fishing of course, and so is everyone else here in Bella Vista. Going to rain the next two days, so that will put the Kai-Bosh on any fishing. Reading a book called A Distant Mirror by Barbara Tuchman - it's a history of the 14th century. Good times then, war, famine, plague, people getting burned at the stake.
