  1. That's a head shaker for sure.
  2. I think that if you want to do some research into TR walleye fishing, just do a search on rps postings. Over the years he has written quite a bit on the subject. He consistently puts them in the boat, which is tough to do on TR. We need a TR walleye sub-forum.
  3. Thanks for the report, that's pretty decent fishing. Curious as to what the water color is like up around Shell Knob?
  4. Yeah that was me, but I don't remember seeing you. Sometimes I'm in my own little world focusing on fishing and I miss stuff. I wouldn't have fished those docks if I saw you over there, no wonder I didn't get any bites there. LOL.
  5. My 2 cents on the shallow fish - the bait is shallow, the water is murky providing cover, and the water temps are cool, relatively speaking. They have everything they need. Some will go out in the main channel, but not all. I think quite a few of them are under boat docks during the day or holding on cover. You have to get right on them to catch them, and these fish have been hammered all spring and have seen a lot of presentations.
  6. Yep, I have a Phoenix - were you the guy that I was talking to that was on the dock getting ready to go out?
  7. I like the format, and I like watching the show. I think that the way they fish in MLF is pretty close to the way we "fun" fisherman fish. We're out there to catch fish and have fun and really aren't focused on the best five. That being said, I also like to watch the traditional tournaments, especially the live coverage that BASS has added.
  8. You are setting a high bar for yourself, at least as far as walleye and crappie. It's tough to hope to get into them on a half day trip if you're not familiar with where to go and what to use. If it was me, and I am far from being a walleye expert, I'd troll the gravel and rocky points up in the White river channel with some kind of crawler harness rig. That's my short answer to what can be a long and complicated subject.
  9. Reminds me of this story, which was in the local news when I lived in Washington state. They knew about where the car was, but couldn't find it until they used side scan. http://john-rawlings.newsvine.com/_news/2008/07/27/1699750-diving-into-a-72-year-old-mystery-an-alpine-lake-finally-gives-up-its-secrets
  10. Wow, that lake is high - just watched Edwin pull a 4 lb fish out of someone's flooded lawn.
  11. Yeah so do I, I have things to do this morning.
  12. Typo on my part, it begins at 8 AM CT.
  13. Are you going to have live video of Ham on BSL?
  14. Edwin is going to be on a live stream this morning starting at 7AM. Fishing Grand high water and all. I don't know if they will archive it, or if it will be live only. http://www.bassmaster.com/news/watch-evers-fish-grand-lake-live-thursday
  15. I haven't had any condensation or water issues. I did have a 798 that the power button got stuck in the on, or pushed in position, sent it in and they fixed it no charge.
  16. I can sympathize, I remember many a working day, looking out the window and thinking what a nice day this would be to be out fishing.
  17. Google can be your friend. Some of the terminology is over my head, but looks like a case could be made for this as to being the slime cause. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16244080 Or this: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/vm059
  18. Fished bankers hours again yesterday which is probably a mistake, need to start getting up early and getting out there at daylight. Fishing was slow, dozen bass, maybe 3-4 keepers. Caught a few Ned fish off a main lake point, but they were 12" fish. Caught the rest in the back halves of coves on wobble head with a Megabug, and a couple on a 1/2 oz Nutech jig. Caught a couple in dock stalls. Lot of bait in the cove ends. Not much top water activity, but there could have been some early that I missed. Water is green stained, can see bottom out to about 3-4 feet. Temps 71-73. Didn't see any large debris out in the lake.

  20. I've seen turkeys only one time myself on Beaver and that was up Indian creek.
  21. That's some good fishing Hammer.
  22. Haven't seen anything like that myself on the TR fish I have caught.
  23. Yes, let us know what you see.
  24. Definitely get in close and flip those bushes and fish that spinner bait.
