  1. Looks like some good fishing. Pressure does seem to be pretty intense this year so far. The obvious stuff is getting hammered.
  2. They changed it last year for the 2016 Classic, no longer does winning an Elite event put you into the Classic. As far as I know, that is the rule for 2017 also. I don't like it.
  3. It's a hard one to call, a lot of those guys are familiar with Ozark highland lake fishing. Would not surprise my if someone from your list wins it. Aaron Martens is somebody I would look out for also.
  4. Well Jimmy did not make it to day 4. He's only 5 lbs. back, but that wasn't enough. Maybe Matt Arey can make it three in a row.
  5. I haven't seen any up the White myself, or had a shredded line deal like that.
  6. That is some great fishing! I've heard a lot of fishing stories in my 50 years of fishing, but never have heard of someone wrapping the line around their neck, glad to hear you were able to get if off, and thank goodness it wasn't braid!
  7. Wow, I did not realize that tourney had so many boats. Sounds like you guys found some solid fishing, good luck tomorrow.
  8. Jimmy is still hanging in there, supposed to be breezy the next couple of days, should help his spinner bait fishing.

  10. 17 lbs. and change for the fish kisser. Looks like the lake is fishing pretty well. I'd like to see Jimmy pull it off.
  11. Saw a few bass doing some busting off shore yesterday AM, but just a few amongst all the carp flopping and gar rolling. Not enough for me to get interested in chasing them, but I sure am looking forward to the top water bite when it gets going.
  12. Some good fish there Dave, they sure didn't seem to want the Ned yesterday for us, but we really did not stick with it for long either.
  13. Heard a bunch of gobbling across from the Big M marina this morning. They may have been in the Viney state park.
  14. Boats everywhere, seemed like a Sunday, I agree. Who the heck does the work around here, it seems like everybody is fishing, LOL.
  15. Seems to be a good lake from what I have seen on TV. They had that Texas Bass contest there for a couple of years in the fall where they have FLW and Elite anglers compete. Keith Coombs won it twice, I'd say he might be the favorite IF he can qualify. I think they have some kind of slot limit there, but I could be wrong about that.
  16. Fished it with my buddy Jeb, we had a tough day, 20 bass total with only 2 keepers. Just scattered fish again, some in coves, a few main channel fish, anywhere from 5 FOW out to 20 feet. Caught fish on c-rig, jig, wobble head, shaky head and maybe one or two Ned fish. Had one top water blow up on a walk the dog bait, nice explosion, except for the not grabbing the lure part. It was one of those days, we missed quite a few fish also, just not holding our mouths right or something. Still good to get out on a gorgeous day, water temps 56-60. Water seems to be clearing a bit.
  17. Very nice smallie!
  18. I would check out the Pflueger President and the President Anniversary reels, and I'd look at the 30 and 35 sizes if I was thinking of spooling it with mono in the range you are talking. Pflueger XT reels are sweet also if they are in your price range. There is a $20 manufacturer rebate deal on Pfluegers priced over $99. Haven't fished the Revo myself, but I have heard they are also sweet reels.
  19. A biggun for sure! Congrats Bill!
  20. Today was one of those days where the fish were scattered and would hit some different baits, but never could find that hot bait or location. Caught 18 fish (I count them in my head, no clicker). maybe a half dozen were keepers, but I doubt any of them were over 16". Ned, c-rig UV speed craw, and a wobblehead with a Structure Bug caught the fish. Some on main lake gravel points, some in coves - didn't so much good on steep chunk rock. Saw a couple of beds back in a cove. Caught smallies, LM's, Spots, and one mean. Water temps were 54-57, water still green stained.
  21. I can't think of anything that's close. There are places to eat in Cassville, probably a motel or two also. MDC has some cabins over at Roaring River I believe. Might be a resort in Eagle Rock to stay at.
  22. Good fishing, some real nice quality!
  23. Looks like after today the wind will finally get reasonable. Thanks for the report, the fishing sounds tough out there.
  24. I tip my hat to anyone that can catch a bass in that wind. It was really blowing yesterday here in Bella Vista.
  25. Well you did get a nice largemouth. Could be the high blue skies and wind have them shut down, better luck today hopefully!
