  1. Might be worth a trip to Taneycomo, stop by Lilley's landing and tell them you are new to trout fishing, tell them you want to fish off the bank, and ask for some guidance on tackle selection. I think there's some bank access areas, there's quite a few trout in that lake, and you don't have to deal with the trout park be there at the buzzer stuff.
  2. Royals vs Cards World Series?
  3. Good read, thanks for posting.
  4. Holland picked up his major league leading save (as of last night).
  5. Hard to say what will work. It's a tough time of the year. I'd probably try a big worm, like an Old Monster, in a dark color on a Texas rig or Carolina rig. If you have a lot of weeds that may not work however. I'd also try a jig. If you're seeing top water activity, I'd throw a top water of some type like a Spook.
  6. Sounds like that up lake bite is still tough.
  7. That is some good fishing, congrats on finding them!
  8. Budweiser and night time skiing is a bad mix.
  9. Well they managed a win last night.
  10. Nice one!

    Nfl Draft

I look at him as a 7th round pick that did not make the cut. Good luck to him, but I'm kind of glad to see him gone just because of the circus that follows him around.
  12. I've lost too many bass on it, get them halfway back to the boat and off they come. I have to try some bigger hooks.

    Gar

    That is downright funny!
  14. Night skiing - scary stuff.
  15. Some pretty intense wind here also around 5 AM. Fortunately the power stayed on.
  16. After about a week of rain prediction that did not happen, finally getting some this AM. Need it, things were getting dry.
  17. Well last nights game was suspended, to be finished when the Royals travel to Cleveland the end of September. They were down 4-2 in the bottom of the 10th so it does not look good. Royals have now lost 4 straight and have let Cleveland back into contention in the division.
  18. Yep it will be interesting and not without controversy. As I understand things, the committee will come out with a top 25 ranking on October 28th, what I don't know is if it will be updated weekly, but I assume it will. So we'll know who the top 4 are and can follow it. I can see that because of this process it will be possible for a conference to get a couple of teams in the top 4. A team that wins it's conference championship but is a 3 loss team, may not be ranked ahead of two teams from a particular conference, one of whom is undefeated and the conference champion and the other has only one loss. What I don't know, but I can see happening, is that the committee may have a weekly "justification" press conference where they explain why they ranked teams as they did. You see that now in the NCAA championship seedings, and I can see that happening in this new process.
  19. Welcome. good to hear you got some.
  20. Those hooks that come with it must be too small, I'm going to try some Daiichi #6.
  21. Even if they respond and make a bust - what will be the penalty?
  22. I think as long as there is a committee voting on who gets into the playoffs there will be controversy. I don't see any way around it unless they go to some kind of super conference set up with playoffs that lead to a national champion.
  23. Hmmm, if the Mizzou passing game still stinks by the time they play the Hawgs it could make for an interesting game. Hawgs secondary was ridiculously bad in the Auburn game, but if Mizzou can't take advantage of it....
  24. Well at least the Hawgs game was watchable for the first 3 quarters. They might be good enough to win an SEC game or two this year. Defense was butt ugly, especially the secondary. A lot of offense generated by SEC teams this week, should lead to some interesting games this year.
