  1. Yeah it surprises me also.
  2. Watching the news last night and they mentioned that the show "Krappie Kings" is filming this weekend on lake Sequoyah. Apparently they are there on the advice of a local guide. If the crappie fishing is good right now on Sequoyah, well the secret is out. Supposed to air sometime in the future on the Outdoor channel (or maybe Sportsmans channel - I can't remember).
  3. Nice multi-species bag of fish.
  4. Very nice - it's fun catching them on the light tackle!
  5. Welcome!
  6. Reading a little further, it looks like it will close for the season on 9/14 (sigh).
  7. Those are some quality gills, congrats!
  8. I can't see where charging $4 to launch at Viney makes any money for the state, there's not that many boats launching there. In the winter you may see one or two a day. But, it does beat closing it.
  9. Good luck jmes, and if you find them I'd be interested to hear how deep and what cover they are on. Every once in while I like to fish for them.
  10. I don't know why BPS sells a line of plastics, I don't know anyone who uses them (except for the grubs). Zoom baits probably make up about 75% of my plastics. Inexpensive and they work.
  11. Good one!
  12. Very nice!
  13. "Let me get the FRABILL", "OK, I have the FRABILL in my hands". "Netting the fish in the FRABILL". "Let's pull the fish out of the FRABILL for a picture". Sheesh...
  14. Funny stuff!
  15. Hard to say, because that pronouncement from the AGFC doesn't offer any detail, but I don't see how they can continue to have trout fishing if they aren't allowed to stock trout any longer.
  16. Have you done this? Looks to me that, with the hook hanger being vertical, you'd need 2 split rings to have your replacement hook ride point up. But maybe there's a way you can do it with one ring?
  17. I'm really surprised they did not impound that dog.
  18. Saw this in the AGFC news: *Denied an application from the Spring Valley Anglers Rod and Gun Club requesting a permit to privately stock trout in a six-mile segment of Spavinaw Creek in Benton County.
  19. I saw a couple of white pick-ups over by the Viney launch this morning, I was wondering what they were up to. It would be cool to see the state take it over.
  20. Irregardless, I could care less what you guys think - not that I have a dog in this fight, LOL.
  21. One of the good guys, let's hope that he beats this. Veteran pro Stacey King of Missouri posted the following to his Facebook page on Tuesday: "I've been blindsided by a health issue and going through a bunch of tests the last couple of weeks. I have squamous cell carcinoma in a lymph node on the side of my neck, but it's coming from another source which they haven't been able to determine. I go in Thursday for surgery on my throat to remove my tonsils and do three more biopsies. The next week is not going to be any fun at all. Then I may be faced with more treatments. I appreciate all the support from all my friends and fans. Peggy will keep the Facebook page updated as to my progress. Prayers will be appreciated!" The 65-year-old King was in the midst of another solid season on the FLW Tour, ranking 26th in the Angler of the Year race through four events. He logged finishes of 30th or better in three of those. He sat out most of the 2007 season after undergoing open-heart surgery.
  22. I ain't complaining,
  23. It is not a Texas rig. A Carolina rig is not a Texas rig either, even if the bait is hooked in a similar matter.
  24. Crazy spring.
