    Chiefs

    Another win today.
  4. It would be interesting to hear those stories. Would have made a heck of a multiday float trip.
  5. I don't know why they keep playing Drew, he's in a terrible slump. Put Bogaerts at SS and Middlebrooks at 3B.
  6. Some nice fish, I'd like to fish Kentucky lake one of these days, I wish it was closer.
  7. I didn't see much of the game, but it sounds like Mizzou went into what I call a "prevent offence", in other words getting a lead and then becoming conservative. Punting from the opponents 36 would be one symptom of that sometimes fatal disease. You have to keep the pedal to the metal, don't let up on your opponent if there's a reasonable chance they can still come back to beat you. It's one of the worst coaching sins a coach can make, but it's amazing how many do it.
  8. Water color is variable, some of the coves are stained almost to a pea green color, but the main channel is clearer. Didn't really notice any leaves in the water. Speaking of leaves, they are turning a nice color in that area. Maples are peaking, when you can spot them through the oaks. Some colorful hickory, sumac, and dogwood also.
  9. That was a crazy end. I see a press article where they're calling the last play "controversial", I think the obstruction call was justified (this coming from a Bosox fan). Salty made a bad throw to 3rd that caused the whole thing, he makes a good throw and the game would have continued.
  10. Tough loss, however they still have a shot at winning out and beating Bama in the SEC championship, unlikely I think, but still possible.
  11. Got a late start today, left the launch at 0930. Started off fishing points and deep drop offs, didn't have any luck on that stuff, thought maybe with the clouds and wind there might be some bass up shallow, so I started fishing buck brush edges and timber with a jig. That pattern worked for a while, caught 7 or 8 largemouth up shallow, I think every one of them was a keeper with a couple 2 -2.5 lb. fish. That bite stopped around 1 PM, scratched out about 1/2 dozen spots on the jig in the next couple of hours and called it quits about 3 PM. Water temp 63-65. A couple of fat bass, these guys are well fed, not your typical skinny fall largemouth. Some of the coves are packed with shad.
  12. Weird? I think it's beautiful! I like baseball parks that are unique and have their own personalities. Baseball parks, like the one in St. Louis, are generally so bland and generic.
  13. So the champion of the strongest conference in college football should not get in the Championship game? SEC is still the strongest conference, 7 straight national titles. It's nonsense to dispute that.
  14. SEC being the strongest conference.
  15. Sox returned the favor, shot themselves in the foot with bad defence.
  16. The Sox need to send the Cards a thank-you note because they got a gift. I heard that Bucholz is feeling some kind of pain and has been moved back. The next 2 nights the Cards get to face Lackey and Peavey, both of these guys make me nervous. Lackey has a good regular season ERA, but it's tough to get more than 6 innings out of him. Which means the Sox middle relievers will come in and they are a shaky bunch. Peavey got hammered in his last start. I wouldn't call tonight's game a must win for the Sox, but it's one they really need, as I think the Peavey start will be a game the Cards should win.
  17. Alex is the fly in the ointment, but I remember that Ravens team that won the SB with Trent Dilfer at the helm.
  18. The guys on ESPN radio this afternoon were talking about a Chiefs vs Seahawks Super Bowl.
  19. Wait until you see some of the fans tonight. Fake beard craziness!
  20. I don't have any positive information to give you guys, it was a struggle, I got 6 bass into the boat, only 2 keeper sized, a 2.5 lb. smallie and a 2 lb. spot. Caught all my fish on jigs, mainly around or near docks. Could not get anything going on the steep banks or back in the coves. Once the sun came out, the shad started swimming around near the surface, but for whatever reason the bass weren't chasing them. Water temps were 65-67 Got to watch an eagle try and get some scaup (bluebills) for breakfast, he was diving on a cluster of 4 of them, the eagle would swoop down and just before he got to them, the ducks would dive and then pop right back up after the eagle started to climb again, the eagle gave up after 4 or 5 attempts, pretty cool to watch and I was rooting for the eagle, but today was not his day to have duck on the menu.
  21. Yes thanks for the report!
  22. I am looking forward to it, it's always fun to watch games played in Fenway. No lead is safe.
  23. I'll keep an eye out for you, I'll be in my silver/black Phoenix.
  24. Nice one Alex!
