  1. I love a dry sense of humor...
  2. Cool, we're getting close to that time of year when a lot of different techniques should start working.
  3. Nice ones, thanks for the water temp report.
  4. Just curious to see what the water temps were today (Sunday) for anyone coming off the water in the afternoon.
  5. When I was living in Washington State, no one would buy Chum salmon, Chums direct from salt water aren't bad, but they have a bad reputation as once they move into the rivers they quickly start to deteriorate. So the fishing industry decided to rename them "Silver Brite" salmon. You have to be wary when buying salmon, especially when it's named something that's not an identifiable species. They are also trying to rename those flying carp that are infesting Midwest rivers, people won't buy or eat anything labeled "carp".
  6. You guys done good, congrats!
  7. Probably a good thing they were out of BPS floro, I once bought a spool of that stuff, if you breathed on it, it broke. Worst floro I've ever fished. I will NEVER buy BPS floro again.
  8. I'm beginning to think that Fridays are now the new Saturdays, lots of bass boats out there today, nice weather for a change, I guess a lot of folks are playing hookie - good for you if you made it out there! Today was a quantity day rather than a quality day for me, caught around 20 black bass, mostly 12 -15 inch male LM's with a couple of spots and a couple of meanmouth. Big fish was a 2.5 lb. spot. The tube was doing it, most fish were rather shallow, 5- 10 feet around rocky banks that weren't too steep. Water temps were 52 - 55 degrees. I did get one fish on the Perfect 10 Rogue, a nice picture worthy 2 lb. meanmouth.
  9. If you're trolling for crappie, Bandit 300's work well and you'll pick up an occasional walleye.
  10. Go get 'em, F&F, good luck!
  11. Congrats to Mr. Webb!
  12. Got out today on one of the Bella Vista lakes and threw some jerkbaits for a while. I did toss the Rogue for a bit, caught one bass on it. It gets down deep, maybe 10 feet but hard to tell. It did have a slow float to it, didn't have time to experiment with it as the bass were biting and I'm not one to experiment with baits when I'm catching them on another bait. Got most of my fish on a Plum Green Apple STX. Can't get them to bite it on the Rock, but these Bella Vista fish like it. It's really weird, I can catch fish on TR on something, come over here to BV and they won't touch it, or I can use something that really works on these BV lakes and the TR fish won't have anything to do with it. It keeps fishing interesting I guess. This girl just inhaled that STX, you can see just a bit of it poking out of her mouth.
  13. I'm retired (that explains a lot, LOL) but finally looks like the weather is going to let me go fishing, gonna get out for a while today on one of the Bella Vista lakes and maybe head over to Big M tomorrow.
  14. It will be Monday the 8th at 6:30 PM at AQ Chicken in Springdale. It's the monthly meeting of NWA Bassmasters club with the Bios making a presentation during that meeting.
  15. Came up almost 2 feet in the last week, thunderstorms are forecast for early next week. If we get a big gully washer in the White and War Eagle drainages, I could see 1123 or even higher.
  16. Everyone of us that has been in BPS in Springfield and has seen those big 10 lb. bass swimming around in the aquarium has fantasized about tossing a jig in there and hooking one of those hogs. Well, with this little baby and a bit of subterfuge, you MIGHT be able to get away with it.
  17. Speaking of hillbillies (I have hillbilly forefathers so I'm entitled to make fun of them). Dearest Redneck Son, I'm writing this slow because I know you can't read fast. We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen within 20 miles of your home, so we moved. I won't be able to send you the address because the last Arkansas family that lived here took the house numbers when they moved so they wouldn't have to change their address. This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure about it. I put a load of clothes in and pulled the chain. We haven't seen them since. The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week; the first time for three days and the second time for four days. About that coat you wanted me to send; your Uncle Billy Bob said it would be too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. Bubba locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it took him two hours to get me and your father out. Your sister had a baby this morning, but I haven't found out what it is yet so I don't know if you are an aunt or uncle. Uncle Bobby Ray fell into a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out but he fought them off and drowned. We had him cremated, he burned for three days. Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pickup truck. Butch was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your other two friends were in the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down! There isn't much more news at this time.. Nothing much out of the normal has happened. Your Favorite Aunt, Mom
  18. Yeah I don't know that I'll have much to add myself, but it's a chance to talk to the local bass bios. Once they get done talking about Beaver and the proposed changes, there will be an open forum session, at least that's what I got from the email they sent me. I might ask some questions about Swepco, and Lake Fort Smith.

    Batter Up!

Got the DVR set to record, Royals game this afternoon, Red Sox this evening.
  20. I'd try a longer pause. Sometimes when it's cold it takes them a while to swim up to the bait. Sounds like you pulled it away from them before they got to it.
  21. Moderators - Please take down the Megabass images DTRS has put up above. My wallet can't take any more...
  22. The state bios are meeting with the NWA Bassmasters club next Monday night to discuss the new proposed regulations for spotted bass and overall bass management in Beaver lake. It will be at AQ Chicken House in Springdale, don't the time yet, but I would assume around 6 or 7. We're invited to go if it's a small group, the meeting room is small. If too many of us want to go then we'll have to wait until the May public input meeting. If you want to go to the meeting, please indicate so on this thread, cutoff for signing up will be 9 PM tomorrow night. Once we have a number, I'll send it in and we'll see if it's few enough that we can get in.
  23. I like the whip crack sound the bass make when they grab the minnow. I wish they would do that when they bite my baits.
  24. I know he's telling everybody he's catching them on jerkbaits and the A-rig, but here's what he is really using: http://www.saftbait.com/
