  1. Cut it out, you guys are making me hungry.
  2. Yep, Bo, it as a pleasure to meet you and chat with you guys for a bit. I had a good numbers day on the spotted bass, 23 total, all spots, except one 12" smallie - but only 3 may have been keeper sized. All except one came on the Ned, fished 15-30 feet deep off bluffs and chunk rock banks. Fishing it slow and maintaining bottom contact. Here's Bo and his crew dealing with a triple header - would have been a quadruple, except his dog lost one at the boat. Watched them for about 5 minutes and they were catching them. .
  3. Good deal , thanks for the report!
  4. Here's a list of MO House reps, click on their name for their email. Probably would not hurt to shoot your rep an email and let them know what you think. And it's House Joint Resolution 8, right? Make sure you reference that in your email. http://house.mo.gov/member.aspx?year=2014
  5. And when you pull up to the box on an early summer morning with high humidity (before the attendants are in the shack), all the pay envelopes are wet and stuck together.
  6. Yep, Little Cleo is a good one.
  7. Really hard to beat the jigs.
  8. January 24 - Hogs coming to Missouri.
  9. After reading this, next keeper walleye I catch is coming home with me.
  10. Some great pics, thanks for sharing!
  11. Uh-oh, word has even reached the antique shops on the Warts.
  12. I stand corrected - thanks for the update.
  13. Not a bad day for this time of year, and a nice, healthy TR largemouth that Champ is holding. Sorry about the hands, sometimes I get those kinds of cuts on the outside edge of my index finger, and when using the spinning reel, the line will get in there, and yes it does sting. Haven't had it happen this year, guess I need to do more fishing!
  14. You are certainly welcome to bring some beverages - I've said to everyone to bring their own, but good to have some extras in case someone forgets.
  15. Come on down, open to all registered OAF members.
  16. I've got a Powell Endurance 795 that is rated up to 3 oz and works well for tossing the rig. I also use 65 lb braid. Hook, Line and Sinker used to carry and still may carry jigheads that use a relatively light wire, might have been Bass-X brand. If you got them hung up in wood, you could pull it out as the hook would straighten before the braid would break. Some people that throw the rig are now Texas rigging their baits with EWG hooks, less snaggy and you can slow roll it near the bottom. All that being said, I have not thrown the rig this year at all.
  17. If you would like to volunteer to be the Weigh-in Chief, that would be great. Phil is providing the scales BTW. If you fish, you'd have to get back to the ramp a bit early so as to be ready to weigh when the folks start coming in. If you're willing to do that, that would be great. As far as having a "hold and pass on" type of trophy, I like the idea, but it complicates things a bit as we'd have to get the winner's name engraved on it after the tourney and then ship it out, IF we were to make this an annual event, then we'd have to hope that the trophy holder would show and bring the trophy back. So, just to keep it simple, I'd rather just have the trophy given to the winner to keep. BTW, Phil has graciously stepped up to provide the trophy.
  18. Unfortunately you do have to pay the fee. Fee is required year round. If you're interested, fee requirements are shown on page 4 of this document. special_events_permit.pdf
  19. That's always been my walleye fishing strategy.
  20. Massive striper - congrats!
  21. Chunky smallies, congrats!
  22. Nice Wally!
  23. OK, let's do it - March 14, 2015, Eagle Rock COE Ramp, 0700 start time, Tournaments ends at 1400. Big bass format, largest weight wins. Any black bass (Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted Bass, Meanmouth) are eligible, but only one bass will qualify as the biggest. No entry fee, trophy will be awarded to the winner (and just think of the bragging rights you will have on the forum). Immense prestige will accrue to the winner of this tournament. You can fish multiple people out of a boat, but the trophy will go to the individual that weighs in the biggest bass. Typical bass tourney rules apply - No bait, no trolling, and no A-rig or multi-arm lures. We'll have a couple of grills going, so plan to stay around for a bit after the tourney and meet some folks. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and other food stuff will be available, just bring your own drinks. Always a chance that weather could be bad in March, if it is looking bad enough to make travel treacherous then we will have to reschedule. We'll notify everyone a day or two in advance it if look like bad weather. Feel free to take some pics during the tourney and post them on the forum. As of now looks like we have close to 30 participants.
