  1. I'm not too concerned about who is #1 right now, just who is in the top 4. I think Alabama is justified in being in the top 4, but they still have to get by Mizzou.
  2. I have been disappointed in the bite, usually November is a great month to fish. I have some spots (brush piles, chunk rock banks) that usually hold fish every November and they are just not there. If this keeps up, I'll have to start going deep with the *%^# spoon.
  3. What, no Chiefs love on here anymore? Betting line has the Donkeys favored by one. Go Chiefs!
  4. Several teams are not out of the woods yet. OSU, FSU and Oregon face tough opponents in their championship games.
  5. Apparently a hot rig to use for salamanders.
  6. Future sounds a bit grim as it appears habitat loss is a factor in the decline. But on the positive side, maybe they can use the captive breeding program to re-introduce them back into the streams they have disappeared from. I wonder if they were ever in the Buffalo river?
  7. I have never seen one, but I guess it is possible.
  8. Bama certainly looks beatable, they all do. FSU barely escaped Florida for crying out loud. Bad weekend for the SEC, I think there were 4 losses to ACC teams.
  9. For crappie, Bandit 300's. Walleye will pounce on them also, and so will the annoying bass.
  10. You did better than me, I fished around Big M for a while and up the Kings for a total of 3 spots. I did leave early as it became windier than heck and on top of that my back was bothering me.
  11. Yeah would love to hear how it works for you. Definitely want to make sure you have the plug knocker in the boat, just in case.
  12. Yeah I'm scratching my head wondering why he wasn't pulled, at least in the 4th quarter. But I don't blame BA, the coaches need to make that call.
  13. Seemed to me to be a sloppy, penalty and turnover laden game. But once Mauk started hitting his recievers, Mizzou started looking very efficient. AR's secondary has problems with big, athletic receivers, it's like watching a bunch of Smurf's trying to cover a bunch or Terrell Owens like receivers. Mizzou's D-line outplayed AR's vaunted O-line in the 2nd half, run game fizzled out and once AR was forced to rely on Allen's arm, things became grim. Sure didn't help that Allen was playing hurt and was getting progressively worse as the game went on. Should've put the younger brother in for BA in the 2nd half. I don't know if it would have changed the outcome, but BA was too hurt to be effective. In spite of this disappointing outcome, I'll be rooting for Mizzou in the SEC championship game. If, somehow, Mizzou pulls it out, the resulting controversy about whether a Mizzou SEC champion should be in the playoff will be wonderful!
  14. Thanks for the story, man that sounds painful!
  15. Thanks for the report - that's a good day.
  16. I also hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I might be out there tomorrow in the Big M to Kings stretch in a silver/black Phoenix.
  17. Nice one!
  18. Sorry to hear that, but hopefully it will work itself out and you can make it.
  19. Yeah Hoglaw you're right, the passing game problems go beyond just BA, I should not just name him as the problem. And in truth there aren't very many outstanding college QB's out there this year. That game last week, that TD pass that BA threw to one of the receivers (I can't remember who it was, maybe it was Hatcher) was a thing of beauty. Perfect pass and the WR stretched out and made a great catch.
  20. I'm OK with BA if the Hogs are leading or close, but if they get behind and are in a situation where they have to score some points through the air that's where my confidence in him drops significantly. But I'd rather see BA than AA starting this game for sure.
  21. A few years ago I was fishing with my buddy Jeb over on Beaver, it was early spring and I was throwing a jerk bait. I had just caught a nice 3-4 lb. walleye, threw back into the same spot, worked the bait back to the boat, paused it right at the side of the boat, and that bait suddenly disappeared, saw the front portion of the fish, I'm pretty sure it was a very big walleye - but I'll never know as the line parted with I lifted my rod to set the hook. Must have been a fray in the line or something.
  22. Yeah they seem to like it for some reason. They like the Ned rig also. I keep expecting to hook a big wallie one of these days on a jerk bait.
  23. The water is stained where I was fishing yesterday, so I decided on the more visible color. I like to throw the ghost colors in clear water. Not many smallies in the White channel like you see down lake - I wish there were more.
