  1. I saw a couple of white pick-ups over by the Viney launch this morning, I was wondering what they were up to. It would be cool to see the state take it over.
  2. Irregardless, I could care less what you guys think - not that I have a dog in this fight, LOL.
  3. One of the good guys, let's hope that he beats this. Veteran pro Stacey King of Missouri posted the following to his Facebook page on Tuesday: "I've been blindsided by a health issue and going through a bunch of tests the last couple of weeks. I have squamous cell carcinoma in a lymph node on the side of my neck, but it's coming from another source which they haven't been able to determine. I go in Thursday for surgery on my throat to remove my tonsils and do three more biopsies. The next week is not going to be any fun at all. Then I may be faced with more treatments. I appreciate all the support from all my friends and fans. Peggy will keep the Facebook page updated as to my progress. Prayers will be appreciated!" The 65-year-old King was in the midst of another solid season on the FLW Tour, ranking 26th in the Angler of the Year race through four events. He logged finishes of 30th or better in three of those. He sat out most of the 2007 season after undergoing open-heart surgery.
  4. I ain't complaining,
  5. It is not a Texas rig. A Carolina rig is not a Texas rig either, even if the bait is hooked in a similar matter.
  6. Crazy spring.
  7. Yeah they are still eating it. I use a 1/2 oz head with the 4 -5 inch Biffle or beaver type baits, and a 3/8 with smaller stuff like UV Speed Craws and worms. Swing Oil makes a good rig, but I'm partial to a Pigsticker baits Pig Rig has a split ring attached between the head and the hook, so you can change out hooks to suit your bait or if your hook point gets rolled. Dunno if you can do that with a Swing Oil head.
  8. Yeah a couple of weeks ago I caught several spawned out 2 - 3lb. females. But last week, caught several that were fat and had undamaged fins and were out on the cove mouths, I'm assuming they were waiting to move in and spawn (this was during the cold spell last week). So my 2 cents are that we've had one wave of spawners that have finished and are going to get a 2nd push soon.
  9. I know some gravel points, that when the top water bite starts, will have fish on them doing the top water thing until late in the summer. Early morning is best. Evening are probably good, but that's getting close to my bed time. Need this wind to calm down a bit.
  10. They are in the river below Beaver dam. A couple of years ago AGFC shocked up a 25# brown up there. You'd think a few would make it down lake, but never had heard of anyone catching any except in the Beaver tailwater.
  11. It was certainly windy yesterday. But sounds like you guys had a decent day, considering.
  12. I don't know if they eyeball them and estimate, or if they weigh them.
  13. Dude....Dude....Dude... Heck of a fish however.
  14. That's right, the BFL was going on also. Here's a link for the story. Winner was 15lbs. and change, then it drops off. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/bfl/tournament/2014/7268/table-rock-lake-press-release/156045/jones-fished-beds-for-title-on-table-rock/#.U3s5KH4o6Uk
  15. I saw only 3 over 5lbs. in the results, big bass was roughly 6.25. I'd have expected more, lots of boats out there with good fishermen. Guess the bigguns are all vampires now.
  16. Good stuff! That bird looks like a blue heron, with some darker plumage than normally seen.
  17. TD stands for Trick Darter - They have a unique erratic action, very good smaller jerkbait. I'm very tempted, $35 is a great deal for 3 good colors. I've got so many JB's at it is - somebody please buy these..
  18. I think bass anglers don't care, unless they want to go up there and try and catch them. AGFC is a different story.
  19. Don't let AGFC see that, they don't like stripers eating expensive hatchery trout.
  20. No dock at Ventris.
  21. I don't see why it would not work.
  22. "A man can't have too much tackle". I think Clint Eastwood said that in one of his movies.
  23. And mini-torpedoes to sink annoying PWC's.
  24. Christie is the winner. I was hoping Clunn could pull it off, looks like he was about 1.5 lbs. out,
