  1. Thanks Flyman, definitely don't want to come up there if the water is messed up.
  2. Here in Bella Vista, Little Sugar is out of it's banks (as of yesterday) and is running red, same color as red clay. Ugly looking.
  3. Just looked at the gauge, almost up to 917. More rain in the forecast.
  4. Roll Tide! HAHA just kidding. But I am looking forward to the Bama at A&M game.
  5. Yeah they need a bat or two. Tejada is hitting .300 but they don't play him that often. Looked at the standings today, Royal have won 9 of the last 10, but so have Cleveland and Detroit.
  6. Cool, thanks for the video.
  7. Went 12 today, but they pulled off a win.
  8. PD, anyone can catch fish trolling and fishing crawlers, it's a shame you have to stoop so low Just kidding you, I know you have a sense of humor, those wallies are tough to catch on a regular basis, good on you for getting some. What the heck do you mean by "zippering" your fillets?
  9. Yep, Superglue can be so much fun!
  10. Scary stuff.
  11. I'm thinking about fishing something different from where I usually fish and maybe launching out of the Cape Fair COE park. Is there a dock at the ramp? Ramp in good shape? Looking at the map, since I'll be coming in from the west on HWY 76, it looks like I can take a right on Peebles Point RD off 76, then a left on Batter Sea Park RD which will take me to the park - is that right? Other option would be to drive into Cape Fair and double back on 76-82. Thanks
  12. F&F, best wishes on getting well. I hate ticks.
  13. I found this custom built, heirloom quality rod floating in the White river channel near the Big M marina. Except for having the about 1 foot broken off the tip, it's in great shape. Custom built by some guy named "Shakespeare" who apparently lives in China. Identify the model, send me $200 to cover shipping, and I'll be glad to send it back to the owner.
  14. Nitwits
  15. Lost in 11 last night, grrr..
  16. X2 on that Cabelas spoon. Last August I picked up several wallies while fishing for bass on that spoon. Another bonus if it rains is that it may keep some of the skiers and pleasure boat off the water. It's crazy up the White river channel after about 11 AM, if you're fishing out on the rolloffs you'll have big wake boats coming by at the rate of about one every three minutes or so. Really annoying when you're trying to fish that deep bite.
  17. Thanks Bill, Danny is my mechanic, and I thought about calling him until I saw that you did.
  18. Another tough day for me, 9 bass total, one that was 3 lbs., one other keeper, and some 12-14" spots. Most of my fish came on the jig, a couple on topwater. Jig bite was ridiculously light, most of the time they just seemed to pick it up and sit there with it or slowly swim off with it, by the time I figured it out I'd swing and miss. No thumps or ticks. Really weird, both the LM's and spots were doing this. Top water fish were being picky also, they'd swirl at the lure but not touch it, had a couple jump right over it. Oh well, still fun to get out and fish.
  19. Thanks for the report, you're doing a heckuva lot better than I am.
  20. I'll take Danny's word on it, but my Merc Manual has about a page and a half warning on the potential evils of ethanol blended fuel. Potential, mainly due to ethanol separation, which is probably not an issue for me as much as I run my engine. But there may be periods of time in the fall winter where my boat may sit for a while. I use 89 non-ethanol, maybe I'm wasting a couple of bucks when I put gas in the boat, but I'm OK with that. I also use Quickleen per Danny's recommendation.
  21. I'm more concerned with storage and alcohol separating from ethanol fuel than anything else. But I'll have to see if I can find these bulletins you mention, sure could save a buck or two running 87 with ethanol.
  22. I've never met Bill personally, but have always enjoyed his contributions to this site. Very nice biography and it confirms my thoughts that Bill is a stand-up guy and a credit to fishermen and guides alike. I did see Bill speak at that jerkbait seminar a few years ago that he and Phil put on. I learned 90% 0f what I know about fishing jerkbaits at that seminar.
  23. BTW, I consider it money well spent and have no regrets
  24. I have 100 miles round trip to Big M, at about 13 MPG, so that's about 8 gallons, I don't do a lot of running around on the big motor, and keep it around 4,000 RPM, so I will usually burn about 4-5 gallons in the 200 Merc. So about 13 gallons total. Boat gas is non-ethanol so a bit more, so it's probably $50 for fuel and oil. I usually make the trip to Big M once, and sometimes twice a week.
