  1. I would not think they would have an issue either, but it's always good to have know the rules. I've done a little research, because I'm now curious myself, and as far as I can tell each Corps lake sets it's own rules as far as adding fish structure, some Corps lakes apparently completely forbid it, I doubt that's the case on TR, but if I was planning on putting some stuff out I would give them a call. Heck I may give them a call myself just to see what they say.
  2. Doesn't hurt to call, you might get an answer right away, and I would not want to be standing in front of a judge asking for forgiveness. Why take a chance?
  3. Here's a number to call: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Table Rock Project Office 4600 State Highway 165 Branson, Missouri 65616-8980 Phone: (417) 334-4101 Fax: (417) 334-4169 Email: ceswl-tr@usace.army.mil
  4. Yeah Champ, sorry to hear that, but the odds sound good, best of luck and we're all pulling for you!
  5. Found some whites in West Bay. Caught them on topwater, a Yozuri Whack-O. West Bay is full of newly hatched shad, big schools of them, from a distance they look like shadows on the water. Get there early and you should find some top water action in that area. As far as black bass, I could not find them yesterday, tried jigs, c-rigs, crankbaits, only caught one dink under a dock.
  6. I like the "Ghost" colors myself, which I don't think can be custom painted as the lure had to be molded in clear plastic, unless the ones you have are clear plastic. I see a lot of brook silversides early in the year on Beaver and the BV lakes, and they are somewhat translucent. But later in the year I would think shad imitating colors would work well. I would also get some dark colors for low light and night. I like Norman Flake also, because the fish seem to like it, I have a Norman Flake like wake bait that works well on Beaver.
  7. I don't even try and grow corn because of those darn racoons. The deer got into the garden earlier this year, didn't do a whole lot of damage, mainly ate some squash leaves and nipped at one of the tomato plants. Since then I have been hanging a sweaty t-shirt (I go on daily walks and sweat like crazy when it's hot and humin) every evening on the fence and the deer have not come back since I started doing that. But maybe they just haven't been around, hard to say. The tomatoes have been coming in the last couple of weeks, they are earlier than usual, I guess because of the heat wave we had. So far the Japanese beetles have not been bad, there's a few but not as bad as last year.
  8. There's a thread about 6 topics below on those Yeller (Palomino) trout. Don't call it a "Golden" trout or people will launch into 500 word essays on the difference between a true golden trout and a palomino.
  9. Early Saturday morning I was taking my sister and nephew to the airport from my mom's house. On the way to my mom's I saw a bleach bottle in the middle of the road on its side leaking something, went a ways further, turned a corner and saw two more in the middle of the road leaking something that had a strong chemical smell to it. I could not stop and check it out as I had to get them to the airport. Anyway came back the same way about an hour later and the bottles were still there in the middle of the road, so I stopped at the firehouse which was only a few hundred yards away and told the fire folks who then said they would go out and check it out and clean it up. Meth chemicals were what I suspect it was and I wasn't going to mess with it considering I don't have a hazmat suit. But here in Bella Vista there's always trash being tossed from cars. local folks are good about going out and cleaning it up, but why is it people feel compelled to toss empty soda cans or styrofoam cups out the window? I guess it takes too much effort to leave them in the vehicle and toss them in the trash when you get home. About 10 years ago I was my dad and I fished SWEPCO, when we pulled out I noticed the trash laying around the boat launch, in the woods, and along the shore where people had bank fishing acccess, I said to my dad that you would think that they would put out a dumpster so people could put there trash in it rather that leaving it on the ground, my dad pointed over to the parking lot and there stood a dumpster. I don't know what you can do when people are too lazy to pick up there empty worm containers and soda cans and drop them in the dumpster on their way back to their car. Another thing I can rant about is people dumping their unwanted pets/puppies/kittens on the side of the road. At least take them to an animal shelter.

Glad to hear you and the boys had a god time! Sounds like the water is still pretty stained, it was like that a week and a half ago when I was last there. I wonder if it is clearing north of Sailboat bridge yet?
  11. We're like drug addicts complaining about geting ripped off by their dealers. As long as we are dependent (addicted) to oil we are going to be subjected to oil spills, price gouging, market manipulation, ethanol, pollution, and dealing with foreign governments that sell us oil. We can fine the heck out of BP, throw all their execs in jail, but other oil companies will step in and fill the vacumn. New issues caused by oil consumption will occur in the future, guaranteed, no doubt about it, as long as we and the rest of the world continue to burn oil at the rate we are burning it now. Not that I'm "Holier than Thou", I burn gas with the best of them.
  12. Just got back, we spent a couple of days up near the dam. Yesterday three of us caught stocker rainbows (released them all) on spoons. They are running a lot of water right now, but the 2 days I was there, early in the AM they weren't quite running as much and that was the best time to fish. When they were running the water at it's max, we found the trout in shallow backwater eddy areas, they would be thick in some of those spots.
  13. A sauger! Wow, I did not know they were in TR. 22 inches is a respectable sauger.
  14. Nice eye!
  15. I heard on the news last night that they are going to start drawing Beaver down on Thursday. Checking the graph, it looks like it's on it's way down now. I would think that with this hot, dry weather and the increased demand for power generation to run all those air conditioners, you would think they would want to just draw enough water to run the generators, and keep some in reserve just in case the hot dry spell runs all summer. But I guess the Corps has reasons for what they do.
  16. Soory to hear about that hook, that's the worst thing is getting a hook in you with a fish still on the lure. Good to hear the fish are still biting, I have not been out to Beaver in a cuople of weeks.
  17. Nice! Those blue cats are tasty.
  18. Thanks guys for the info, where is Blue Springs, downstream or upstream from Houseman?
  19. Nice fish! I may have to haul the boat to Houseman this week and run downriver. Where did you pick up the trout at? Did you find them upriver past Houseman or are they lower down?
  20. You guys always assume the worst, can't you see the headphones he's wearing? He's just groovin' to some slow dance music, doing that Michael Jackson reverse walk thing. Next time you see him out there, give him a white glove..
  21. Thanks for the report Bill. Nice to see some quality jaws being caught!
  22. Nice bunch of fish!
  23. Caught about 20 today, 10 were dinks, but about 10 in the 12-15" range. Mostly on jigs, but a few on topwaters.
  24. You guys are cracking me up!
  25. Had a good day fishing jigs around cover, 15 fish total, no monsters, biggest was 17", the rest were in the 12-15" range.
