  1. I'm fortunate to live close to the community lakes here in Bella Vista, I can get out in the evening or early AM, fish for a few hours and come home. That being said, I haven't been motivated to go out the last few days, just too darned hot.
  2. Wow. some impressive weights, glad to hear you folks are getting into them.
  3. Good luck, have fun!
  4. I did, caught 5 LM, including this 24", estimated 7 lb. little piggy. Used a 10" Zoom OL' Monster t-rigged. Didn't expect to catch a big bass this time of year, got lucky. The bass bit really well from about 8 PM to 9:30 PM, then once it got fully dark they stopped and I went home.

  6. The "getting chased by bears" thing is not for me, lol.
  7. I love these bass boat discussions, lots of good info.
  8. Go this fish last night, using a 10" Black/blue fleck Zoom Ol' Monster. She taped out at about 24", didn't have a scale to weigh her, but I'm estimating around 7 lbs. Cast to a point that has a brush pile on it, let it drop, started to move the worm, felt something solid, at first thought I was hung up in the brush, but the snag began moving. She jumpee and cleared the water a couple of times, but got her in the boat, snapped a couple of pics, and let her go.
  9. I am, sitting here in front of the computer killing time. Probably will head out in about an hour. Try for bass on one of the local community lakes. I'm thinking big worms t-rigged and maybe some wacky senkos also.
  10. You can't leave anything removable anywhere that scumbags can access it. It's a shame. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Precipitation for the year at Beaver went from 30+" to zero. Must be a secret government project to vacumn water out of the ground. Similar to how it vacumns money out of your wallet and makes it disappear.
  12. Don't know if it's the same buffet, but Linn's is a great Chinese buffet. Can't remember the 540 exit number, but it's the exit where Lowe's is right by the freeway. Go west about 1/2 mile, Linn's is on your right.
  13. Bill, thanks for the info.
  14. That is funny, never thought of getting on a Wright Flyer to catch catfish.
  15. Yeah, if given a choice I would rather have Bass Pro. But Cabelas does carry a lot of stuff I like, so they'll be getting some of my money in the future. Ought to create some jobs also, I wonder if they hire part-timers?
  16. Aye Carumba! After living in the Pacific Northwest and watching government money being spent to rip out logging roads to improve salmon habitat, this kind of stuff gives me an ulcer. There's no good reason to punch roads into wilderness areas. All that is accomplished by doing that is it gives access to the nitwits that seek solitude to build meth labs, dump old appliances and matresses, burn off a couple of thousand rounds of ammo shooting up bottles and cans, dump their unwanted dogs and cats, dump stolen cars..yeah this is a good idea.
  17. Thanks for the heads up, glad to see they're moving in.
  18. Been researching boats myself, Phoenix has a good rep, will definitely be on my short list when it comes time to buy. But I'm looking more in the 18-19' range. Something that will fit in the garage.
  19. Loomis has come out with redisgned GL2 casting rods, I like the split grips.

  21. Funny with the price of gas being what it is, and unemployment being so high, that it almost seems there are more boats out chugging up and down the lakes than there were when gas was relatively cheap.
  22. And you're out on a Friday, imagine the bozo factor on weekends! Can't wait for the hot weather to end, cooler temps for fishing and fewer bozos.
  23. Thanks for the info Bill, I was curious about those micro-guides myself.
  24. Wow, I would think one place the regs would be understood by all would be at trout parks. That being said, I'll email the MDC and ask them to implement a catch and release rule for browns, with the exception of keeping one over 18". Heck if you need trout for the frying pan, just keep some rainbows.
  25. Very nice, and that weather sounds great! How was the smallie fishing? Just curious as to how many a person could look forward to catching per day, and average size.
