  1. I would never tip a doctor, lawyer, or accountant. If anything I would be angling for a discount from them.
  2. Cat scratch fever!
  3. Got caught in that front on I-540 in Bentonville last evening with my 70 yo mother in the car with me. Had to pull over in a road cut right where 540 drops into Bella Vista. High winds, zero visibility, hail, rain, with limbs and leaves flying through the air, the craziness lasted for a few minutes then it was gone. Fortunately a twister did not develop.
  4. I was watching a fishing show a few years back, I came in on it in the middle of the show so I did not hear what lake the guy was fishing, but basically he was using shrimp, no weight, and casting them up against the bluffs and letting it slowly sink, he was catching cat after cat. It was during the daytime in the spring, maybe they were spawning. Never have tried them myself, but it's on my list of things to do.
  5. Nice fish!
  6. Good luck! Hopefully you'll give us a report.
  7. Thanks for the info, PH. I'll have to make it down there one of these years and spend a week fishing.
  8. Right on! I never have eaten Flathead, are they any good to eat, I've heard they are strong tasting - but like I said I have never tried them myself.
  9. Sorry to hear you didn't get any cats. Maybe they don't like these cold nights we've had lately.
  10. Thanks for the report, I'm debating whether to poke around in the brush for some crappie this weekend in the Indian Creek area.
  11. Do you jug and trotline for them at night, or during the day?
  12. Give me a holler, we'll give them a shot, I'm restricted to weekend fishing because of an unfortunate condition called work. Don't know if they redears are active yet, but they should be by now.
  13. Yep the Redear bite should be starting here on the Bella Vista lakes.
  14. I was up there crappie fishing, only caught one, just seemed to be a few moving into the flooded brush, going to try again this weekend.
  15. I used to work in downtown Boston, went to school at Northeastern. It's a great city to visit. The bass fishing was excellent there 30 years ago.
  16. Nice bows!
  17. It's a bad fish.
  18. I have fished it twice this year, trolling spoons, not much difficulty catching a limit. The last load they stocked included some decent 12-14 inch fish, and rumor has it, a few 3-4 lb fish. You may as well get out there and catch them as they won't survive the summer heat.
  19. Good luck!
  20. Sounds like an active dog that needs excercise. My bird dog would give me fits in the off season if I did not excecise him enough, during bird season I would hunt that dog all weekend and after that he wouldn't stick his nose out of the dog house for 3 days.
  21. Is it high after all the rain?
  22. Thanks for the reports, I almost headed that way this weekend. Got some more rain coming in the next couple of days, but maybe after it passes things will warm up and the fish will get going.
  23. One of these days I'll get back to bird hunting...gotta get a dog first, and quit this job that has me traveling so much.
  24. I like the long evening, I alos wish we would just stay on this time year round.
