  1. I have fished it twice this year, trolling spoons, not much difficulty catching a limit. The last load they stocked included some decent 12-14 inch fish, and rumor has it, a few 3-4 lb fish. You may as well get out there and catch them as they won't survive the summer heat.
  2. Good luck!
  3. Sounds like an active dog that needs excercise. My bird dog would give me fits in the off season if I did not excecise him enough, during bird season I would hunt that dog all weekend and after that he wouldn't stick his nose out of the dog house for 3 days.
  4. Is it high after all the rain?
  5. Thanks for the reports, I almost headed that way this weekend. Got some more rain coming in the next couple of days, but maybe after it passes things will warm up and the fish will get going.
  6. One of these days I'll get back to bird hunting...gotta get a dog first, and quit this job that has me traveling so much.
  7. I like the long evening, I alos wish we would just stay on this time year round.
  8. Thanks again, Martin and RPS for the info.
  9. You were fishing Lake Bella Vista and a cop was asking you for a trout permit? You don't need a trout permit to fish that lake.
  10. Thanks RPS, where do you get the water reading that you mention - 915?
  11. Materman - I've seen you on the Stockton Lake site, glad to see you here, it is a great site with lots of info.
  12. Great photo!
  13. I was down at Houseman a couple of weeks ago looking around. I have never launched there - any tricky spots downstream of Houseman as far as navigaing with a prop?
  14. Thanks Bill, that is some great advice, I plan on applying your strategy down here on Beaver this spring.
  15. Lakrat, I believe you, and thanks for the info, I'll have give the dogs a shot one of these days.
  16. Yep, great site, I have no complaints.
  17. I've used shad for Blues in Grand, I guess catching a dozen hot dogs at the store will be easier than netting some shad, I just have a hard time accepting that hot dogs will work.
  18. Sounds like a great day. What were they baiting their jugs with? Sounds like a great day. What were they baiting their jugs with?

  20. I have never eaten carp, but one of these days I'll have to give it a shot. I have also heard carp is good smoked. My carp bait of choice is Wheaties, grab a fistful, dip your fist in the water, pull it out immediately, knead it some, and you have a Wheaties ball that you can mold onto a treble hook, it's real durable and the carp seem to love it.
  21. Just to clear up a couple of misconceptions about Lake Bella Vista: It is not part of the Bella Vista POA and is open to the public, it is owned by the city of Bentonville. They no longer drain the lake every year and as far as I know there are no future plans to drain it. I have never seen a carp over 10lbs. in the lake but the potential is there. There are other species of fish besides carp (wink, wink).
  22. Outstanding! That would make my day for sure.
  23. Glad to hear you got some birds, When I pheasant hunted in Washington I had a dog and they will help you find those birds, especially the ones that hit the ground running. Did you hunt public land? If so, it sounds like the area holds birds well even this late in the season.
  24. That is a great report - thanks!
